  • I still get this song in my head all the time.

  • 'canceled his lifelong subscription to Penthouse'; brutal. Brillant tune from a brillant artist.

  • This totally reminds me 'Dirt Of Luck' era Helium or just Mary Timony in general.

  • only 88,000 views? shame, it needs more...

  • If she can't straighten Dale up there's no chance. Love that girl!

  • I thought Louise was fit as fuck when I was in my youth and still do now !

  • @Janspeed1976 Too right mate.

  • great band. one of the first bands to get me into brit pop. saw them at Feile 95 too.

  • I could completely hear Ray Davies sing this.

  • WOW i totally forgot about these

  • Comment removed

  • it's catchy as hell though.

  • I want Louise Wener's babies.

  • she blinks so much!

  • LOL

  • it's hot though

  • Is it the blinking or what? So sexy!

Also has this could-be-lesbian vibe. Man, as a teenager she was the sexiest thing ever and as an adult, well - still goes.

    Awesome song, video and band.

  • louise wener is the bollocks love her!

  • first live band i saw

    and the best

  • I had such great times in the 90's we had everything good shows good cartoons good music everything went bollocks now idiots listen to britney spears and lil wayne i rather die then give into the crap

  • Ah the good old days. I remember this like it was last week. I don't remember her blinking her eyes so much though. haha

  • Dale Winton - the true King of Britpop!

Did I really have nothing better to do than watch Supermarket Sweep? Ahh god bless the 90's.

  • Reminds me of great nights at the Kandy Klub in Bristol, a top 10 britpop single.

  • The Kandy! On the Thekla? Fuck yeah!

  • why the hell is she blinking so much?

  • It must be dry eyes

  • Used to have a major crush on Louise Wener back in the Brit Pop years... wish I could find their albums again as lost mine when I moved.

  • i have them.i wish i could give you a copy cd.

  • Ahhhhhh......Louise Wener!!! She was so cute and I loved their first two albums. Too bad she decided to write instead. They were still great. I used to like her her uninhibited sexual nature. Looking as good as she did, she could get away with it. Three albums was not enough. Glad there are others here who remember them because where I'm from nobody does.

  • I'm not sure you know, I love this song, but - off "Smart", I'm kind of torn between this and Vegas. Why weren't the other tracks off this single on the album? Little Annie - cracking song, so is Disco Duncan.

  • Yeah, both B-sides were great. Can't decide between the album version of "Vegas", or the remixed single version...

  • sleeper,never say goodbye...

  • Louise Wener-Sexy!

  • Got to love a bit of Dale Winton in the video!

  • They where great live back in 1996

  • in weener

  • You said Weener, Beavis...hmm hmm hmm...cool.

  • God Bless your childishness.

It brings a tear to my immature eye.

    lol.

  • Ahhhh sleeper...God the memories...

    Bring the 90s back !

  • I'm not usually into short haired brunette British birds with a conservative bent... but Louise Wener...mmmmm. But Harriet Wheeler of The Sundays trumps all UK indie babes. ;) Never got into the whole Justine Frischmann thing, although I did love Elastica's first album (haven't heard the second). Bjork is a turn-off for me (her music's pretty good though). Give me Tanya Donelly (Throwing Muses, Breeders, Belly) or Neko Case anyday.

  • my god i used to fancy her something rotten.

now i see see this and kinda think why? ah well, good memories!

  • Ahhhhh, Louise !!

  • i firmly believe that the essiential message of this song is rather cruel. one should never indulge in an 'inbetweener' relationship. it can break the heart of the recipient. it is a faling of the songwriters in this instance.

  • I don't think that is the message of this song. As far as I can make out (whilst drooling over Louise) the song is about being dumped and feeling hurt and bitter about it. And then doing whatever you can to be hurtful back - hence the "Inbetweener" thing. Human nature and all that.....

  • Louise=sexy

  • i want to marry Wener!! And have lots of little Wenerettes!!

  • How can anyone blink so much? It's uncomfortable to watch...

  • Yeah mate, you'd kick her out of bed for 'blinking'!

And i dont care if a female... you still wouldn't!

  • i think she might be doin it on purpose, i have not noticed her ever doing this before.

  • Contrived blinking and "looking upwards with the eyes" was part of Brit-Pop for sure...

  • so true!

  • Spot on.

  • Heh, but Damon Albarn did it best. Damn, he looks so old now in GBQ. He needs to quit smoking.

  • Lest we forget the Nice Guy Eddie dance on TOTP. A how-to of Brit-pop moves, grimaces and tremors all expertly done by our girl Louise, oh happy days.

  • dale 'why did you marry nell mcandrew when we all know?

  • that was a hoax

  • I'd love to see them reform and do download orgasmic for everyone. i think the only time you would see an audience silent

  • Dale Winton came into my HMV today, bought the new British Sea Power album... totally forgot he was in this!

  • Yeah, I loved her too...

  • I loved her too.x

  • God I loved this grl.

  • what a good song, brings back memories.Louise Wener looks pretty good even now.tasty girl good tune.

  • Farkin Hell - Dale Winton?!

  • Just me or did Laim steal her swagger?

  • Liam I mean, but you knew that.

  • she's such a tart!!! i love her!

  • Nice song.

  • such a great band! louise wener was interviewed in the 'live forever' documentary on britpop, and she still looks really pretty.

  • I have that on dvd, Noel and Liam were funny fucking cunts on some of the interviews. It pissed me off that it didn't really go into the story behind Suede, Blur, and Elastica which were tied together by love and hate. Why leave such a great story out of a story about British music in the early 90's...that was Britpop.

  • I was well into Britpop in my teens. After some years I happened to choose to live in London for some years and one day saw that program on TV. I'm back in my country now and just found this clip here. Picked up the England 90 shirt from my wardrobe that's autographed by this vocalist. "Love, Louise". Man, the movement is still in me!!

  • im annoyed that i didnt know about them way back when. i knew about elastica but sleeper were much better. hmph : / i feel i was deprived hehe

  • WOW!!!!!!!!

  • She's a successful author now, wrote a few books. And yes I definately would. Remember seeing Sleeper in Liverpool Uni 1995 when I was a teen, best years of my life ahhhh.

  • slepper were classs!!! i saw them in newcastle i thnik in 1996...louise wener was fit as fxxxk,.she'd deffo get it like!!!

  • yes u would

  • I wonder what she looks like now...

  • I swear to God that the only reason anyone really fancied her was because of the betty boo eyes, blink, blink, arn't I sweet etc. Well, it worked for me! Nice pop song.

  • she was smiling at me fuckers

  • She gave me the come to bed eyes at Glastonbury, I'm tellin' ya.. but the snooker was on, so I had to politely decline

  • Saw these in Newport Centre back in 1995. Ah those were the days.

  • my mate rick still maintains that louise smiled him at leeds uni gig in 95.

  • i love britpop... thats an anthem...so sweet tune....

  • Dale Winton, wot a good touch

  • BJORK WAS PRETTY FUCKABLE

  • I like Bjork. Thing is, she's insane. She once did a shit on stage when she was in the Sugarcubes. I draw the line at that kind of thing.

  • Trainspotting anybody??? lol.

  • I was actually Louise's boyfriend at the time this was done; well I can dream can't I? Lol.

  • Louise Wener was - well - delicious :-)

  • Anyone know if these Sleeper tracks are available on DVD, If not, they should be.....

  • louise was always the fittest indie girl. discuss

  • Sonia from Echobelly in her schoolgirl outfit. Discuss!

  • no discussion. would.

  • AND you obviously like Iain (M) Banks! I salute you for your exquisite taste, sir!

  • I love these sleeper tracks..the mid nineties had such good music. I cant think of any really good tracks from the present day that can even compare

  • fashionbutter...reminds me of 1995, the summer/fall in Ann Arbor. Good times as well. Best time of my life actually..

  • ah - I think you're missing the point, this is a fondly remembered era of my life, not a comment on the eighteen years of Conservative Government.

  • Reminds me so much of Camden in the mid-nineties. Great scene. Great times!

  • Makes me want to relive the mid nineties, mainly spend all Saturday derinking and dance to this about mid-night, the frightening thing was I was still sober, youth of today binge drinking, when I was a lad etc...

  • yeah it's good but I'd rather Sale of the century

  • I well wish I had not been 4 when all this good music came out, gutted!

  • Ah, back when Dale Winton was THE shit, not just shit...

  • What's all the blinking about?

  • 1995-96. Those were the days.

Then Tony Bliar came and fucked everything up.

  • Oh, he was sniffing around even then, long before POWER - Jon Harris' book "The Last Party" has some quite interesting things to say about "The Thick Of It"-types hanging round Creation and Camden like flies round shite.

  • true

  • and until Tony Blair came along, everything was just fine, right ?

  • Thanks for uploading, nice to see that again. Boris is so right about Louise Wener!

  • Awesome. Louise Wener's very easy on the eye and the song is great.

    I miss being 14 again...

  • haha, you and me both borris
