yes this is legal in high school wrestling....but just make sure you follow the man ass he falls so the ref can clearly tell you have full possesion of your opponent on the way down so you wont get disqualified or get unsportsman points taken off
@Gumba237 The keys is momentum. This doesn't work unless your opponent is push into you. To set him up you need to push into him (which naturally should bait him to push back) and then you hit it. The footwork is vital also. You need to swivel your hips hard and your back should almost take the place of where your opp is standing. So as his momentum is going forward, the power of your hips (and back) is bringing him over top of you.
@Gumba237 its a super risky move. My coach taught it to me where you throw yourself under their legs then bow. if you mess up then you have to basically out muscle them to force the move.
@zeekzone It's not that bad when he's pushing into you because you're basically just guiding him through, just try not to use it as an offensive move.
seriously is this legal for middle school werstling cuz i really dont want to go to my first meet and get kicked off the team haha that would suck big time
Similiar but all grappling is related. The Russians or the former Soviet Eastern bloc has adapted a number of techniques seen in Judo( and other Asian wrestling styles) for freestyle and lesser extent, Grecco. Satiev & even other freestyle wrestlers have used uchimatta(a hip toss with the assist of a lifting leg on the inside of a thigh) with a whizzer grip.
John Bones Jones incorporates Judo techniques in his MMA fights.
nice done again. Too bad the existing Freestyle rules that have been changed in 2004 after Athens olympic games are horrible. Wrestling became more tactical than technical. Everyone tries to push an opponent out and get an easy point. We don't see as many throws as we used to before 2004.
@region015 In judo you can't grab the legs at all. Doing so is an immediate DQ. Also you can not bear hug. If both your hands go beyond your opponents obliques you will be penalized. Also you can not clasp your hand in a head and arm. If you you dont want to fight on the ground turtle up. No bent over posture. No locking an opponents sleeve. If you have a waist you have 3 seconds to throw them or the ref will seperate you. Anything other than a sleeve and lapel grip you ave 5 seconds to throw.
@RagingDemon89 Welcome to real world.… you may attack and got DQ for non combat activity, if ref not like you. … same in Free Style and Greco, guess why Ara left his medal on Olympic?
My daughter make 5 ippons (by over back throws) – reff call mate after each throw and not count them, give her shido (she lost by shido).
Other my student on Olympic qualification (Free Style), attaching non stop for 1 minute, as soon he stop attacking, ref give passivity and give point to opponent, he lost 1 point – no Olympics. Straight legs shot prohibited (as primary attack), but in combination as secondary application – absolutely fine. ....but any ref may take advantige of you if he wish.
@christianm1196 Yes this is legal in highschool wrestling. Just take it easy starting out and get a feel for the move. Don't break a team mate practicing this rofl. xD
@christianm1196 Yeah it is, but in folk style go to your knees when you turn around to throw him so you don't slam him. That way it's legal. It's a hard move to do during a match though!
@christianm1196 Don't overanalyze dropping the knee. Good form, timing, and momentum will be sufficient. If you overcomplicate it by worrying about the legality of not making contact with your knee, you'll likely lose account of your most important bodypart at the finish of the throw, your hips. Practice, practice, practice. Any ref that would call an overzealous "illegal" throw on that either isn't paying attention or is just being a douchebag.
Nice! I started watching your vids a couple months ago. I haven't been training nearly as often as I'd like to or should... and still, I follow your advice and I feel like I'm an entirely different guy on the mat. Thank you!
@speedy464745 kind of, the Japanese wizzer is a different grip aka positioning, with the Japanese wizzer you have an over hook on the side u wanna throw him to and the reast is the same, alot more control i think, but for higher pace matches this works great
