  • Why does that guy look like he's being strangled?

  • vader was a mason.

  • Ultimate power in the universe? I thought Star Wars was confined to the Galaxy.

  • I never noticed it before...but damn Vader wears his pants really high. lol

  • You have to admit, that guy sold that choke really well LOL

  • Christianity in the future.

  • I find your lack of color disturbing.

  • To the people that were asking why Vader had to obey Tarkin, my guess is that George Lucas originally didn't intend Vader to be the Emperors right-hand man.

  • what's so special about this to make it B&W?

  • i find your lack of faith distuebing xD

  • who was in charge

Grand moff tarkin or darth vader

  • This bickering is pointless...

  • Very stupid

  • For some reason the black and white of this scene gives a Lynchian quality I enjoy.

Oh if only David Lynch was the director...

  • how dus vader breath and talk at the same time?

  • @bobbylee1557 power of the force !! noob !! xD

  • This is good because it's more realistic. Star Wars was supposed to take place "a long time ago," and as we all know from TV reruns, the world was in black and white back then.

  • Is Darth Vader gonna have to force choke a bitch?

  • Wish I could do that to my brother when we argue....

  • so

    bad

    ass

  • its in black and white? holycrap

  • hahahah lool @ all the star wars nerd comments you lot are going into a full-on-rant calm down man its just a movie

  • But Vader is right. The force is much stronger. Remember the Thrawn trilogy ? Cboat was able to manipulate the minds of an entire Battecruiser crew, so that they were immidiatly under his command.

  • Must have been strange for the guy in the Vader costume, he didn't have any words. Vader's voice is that of another actor James Earl Jones (who also voiced the 'Lion King')

  • @Kidsgrove49 The actor in the suit said the parts but they were edited out and replaced with Jame's voice.

  • Can parathyroid tumors be induced wirelessly?

  • Hands or not he has the power of the force.

  • I remember also said the Dark side is easier but not stronger. It's wierd because the powers seem better, definitely cooler than the light side. But on the other hand the dark side lacks the loyalty and cohesiveness of the light side.

  • @ brikiss77 there is a good answer for that.

the darkside has the advantage of stronger powers but has a lack of vision sort of speak.

    hate blinds all

  • :22

    Vader's walk across the table:

    "Oh here we go again..."

  • @IpponDropkick yes well noticed ^^

  • Would be cool if a Hyouton could do that with using water.

  • you know what's crazy is that vader has no real hands... so he's fucking force choking this guy with a stub in his suit

  • I've heard that he masturbates in the same way.

  • would be easy as force sensitive I guess ^^

  • this is just kind of a stupid question but what is the advantage that light side has over the dark? It seems that the dark side has so much stronger powers.

  • Jedi's have the ability to see into the future, absorbs lighting (as yoda did with Count dokou at the hangar in starwars 2 :Attack of the clones., but i think thats only yodas ability.) for every advantage the darkside has, the light side can counter it easily.

  • So light side is developed more for defense while dark side is attack

  • I am a clerk...

I wish I were Vader, then I could force-choke belligerent customers.

  • @MainHeretic Then you should check out the Chad Vader series!

  • @MainHeretic If you were vader and you were still a clerk, you deserve the belligerent customers, :) Just Kidding .

  • @MainHeretic or shoplifters

  • get pwned!

  • omg. geek talk

  • dark lightning is a palpatine's power!!!

  • Force Lightning is a Sith ability. Count Dooku also displayed this ability. As Ralek said, Vader was capable of such an ability with his training, but he couldn't do it because he'd kill himself doing it.

  • Acutally Force Lightning can be used by either sith or Jedi. Luke Skywalker, after becoming Grand Master displayed his ability for force lightning as well as Mace Windu when he was younger. The reason why Jedi strayed from using it is cause it as associated more with the Sith and closer toward the dark side. Therefore, only those Jedi who were in complete control over their emotions were known to use Force Lightning.

  • The Jedi's Lightning is different, it's not the same. Since the Jedi don't use their darker emotions to fuel their powers. It's called Electric Judgment, plus it is not a lethal skill as it is when used by the Sith. Electric Judgement saps energy from a target, plus the coloration is different.

  • They're pretty much the same exact type of force skill, the difference is a Jedi knows how much is enough...or, they are supposed to.

It's like comparing a personal stun gun, to jumping into the local electrical substation.

The reason a Sith's lightning is so much worse, is because they do draw their power from their anger and pain. They infuse that into the lightning, and it torments the victims even more. A Jedi would never do that.

  • Most of the Force abilities are similar between light and darkside, it's just a matter of the emotions being drawn upon and how far one goes.

  • @SkyCE9A In my opinion the reason Sith use lightning is because it creates destruction.

Jedi = Creation and defensive force powers

Sith = Destruction and aggressive force powers

Creation vs Destruction, Good vs Evil, Black vs White, Light vs Darkness etc etc...

  • @Jayn0o But, a number of Jedi have used force lightning throughout the Star Wars universe, even Luke. The reason Sith use it more is because it's EASY to use when you just want to kill someone. Don't care if they live or not, just hurl your anger and pain at them. But, when a Jedi uses it they need to be able to tell how much is enough, they need to keep their emotions out of it. It's a lot harder to use in a safe and non-lethal way. But, force lightning itself is not a dark side power.

  • @SkyCE9A Luke used lightning ? Was that in the books or ? Where did you see / read this ?

  • @Jayn0o He used it in the books a number of times, as well as other jedi. It's too bad that it's just so difficult to control force lightning, it could be a really useful ability in situations. Electricity is actually one of the best things against any force user, it distrupts their concentration and makes it damn near impossible to use the force effectively.

  • @SkyCE9A Jedi have Eletric Judgement, look it up if you wish to say "Nu-uh!" But it is a lightside form of the "Dark Lightning" and it CAN kill someone also.

  • @Carjos07 You REALLY need to read all of my comments, I never said Jedi didn't have force lightning. In fact, I said they DID and many jedi have used it (including Luke). I never said it couldn't kill either, I said a jedi should know how much is enough. No jedi would ever kill someone with force lightning on purpose. Same with force grabbing, ANY jedi could easily force choke, but what you put into it (the intent/hate/want to kill) is what makes it darkside.

  • @Carjos07 IF you have read the New Jedi Order and other books where they do refer to this light side force lightning, in New Jedi Order it isn't actually called "Electric Judgement" (they came up with that name for a video game) Luke actually calls his "Emerald Fire". It is also stated numerous times in the books that light side force lightning should NOT kill, only sap strength away. The intent to kill and emotions you put into the lightning are what make it a dark side power.

  • @SkyCE9A I'm glad you know its other name(s) but if you use star wars's personal wiki. and you type "Electric Judgement" it comes up. Secondly Luke killed an assassin with it. So please don't tell me it can't kill. I know what it is intended for. I do not believe I know everything, but I know what I talk on. So what are you arguing for? And your other comments do not concern me, they were not at the top.

  • Lord Vader doesn't use Force Lightning because the electric power that would shoot from his hands would destroy the circuits in his arm or arms depending if he uses both hands.

    Great upload thanks again.

  • its actually cos his hands were robot hands and to do force lightning u need human hands

  • the reason why darth vader can't or doesn't do force lightning is because nobody but emperor Palpatine could do it before but then all the video games made most jedi/sith have the lightning thingy because it would be cool.

  • Dooku can use it. Look at Revenge of the Sith, Vader has so much cybernetic replacements that if he tried, he'd electrocute himself and destroy the life support equipment that keeps him alive. He died shortly after being struck by Palpatine's bolts, after all.

  • He can't use force lightning because you need organic material for the force to flow and project through. Vader isn't able to project force lightning, because he doesn't have his own hands.

He WAS able to use force lightning ONCE, but that was when his force powers were augmented with the Kaiburr Crystal. Only then, did he have such a great control of the force to use it. Without causing himself any harm.

If he was able to use it normally, he would ruin his suit and kill himself anyways.

  • You seem like a nerd.

  • I wish I had that ability.

I'd walk to an enemy and constantly apply it on and off and when he tries to speak, say I'm sorry I can't hear you over the sound of your esophagus being crushed.

  • why cant vader do force lightning? and could any other sith do the choke

  • Vader lost both his arms (1st duel with dukoo 2nd duel with obi-wan) so he can't project force lightning. That why he use the force choke.

  • wtf?? you know nothing. the force is controlled in the mind, it's just that it

    a) is easier to manipulate things when you feel like you are focusing on them and

    b) it would be a pretty 5h17 movie if every time someone was about to do something cool, they just sat down first and made what happens happen without any dramatic effect.

  • also, maybe vader just isn't 1337 enough, although you'd think he wold be seeing as darth tyranus could do it, and anakin is more powerful. i expect that in order to make sure that emperor palpatine looks the most powerful to viewers, they decided to give him an extra power

  • To use force lightning you NEED to channel the force and let it project through organic material (ie: HANDS).

It's true that while most force powers can be used without any physical exertion, by skilled users, force lightning is different.

    And, that's official LFL-Canon.

  • Dude you just pulled that out of your ass and you know what. I like it lol

  • i think vader cant preform force lightning coz it may backfire on himself as he has mecanical implants.

  • the reason that vader cant do force lightning is because he isnt turned fully to the dark side. in order to do the lightning, you have to funnel all your rage and hate and dark side feelings into it. its the ultimate weapon of the sith and there for cannot be used by someone that lacks the drive to do it. oh, and before everyone is like "omg yoda did it in ep 2" yoda didnt do force lightning. he bounced it back, and then he absorbed it, both using the force.

  • Not fully turned to the Darkside? He murdered a room full of children, how much more dark can you get?

  • yes he did that. but the reason he did it was because he believed the jedi were evil, and by extension, the younglings that he slaughtered too since they were being trained in the jedi way.

  • Yes, but where was the transition to becoming evil. Just walked into the office with the Windu fight, he cries, Palpatine looks at him, "Go kill Jedi" "okay!" and off he goes. There was no real....change to this. He just goes off to kill the people he was raised and trained and lived with way too easily.

  • he cut windu's arm off out of desperation. he didnt really think about it before he did it, which is like him to do. after he did it, he was very confused and not sure of his actions. palpatine preyed on this and used that to influence him and push him further away from the jedi

  • I know that, but he falls under the sway a little too easy. A weak minded fool he is, obviously. But there is no resistance to the fact he's killing, in cold blood no less, all the people he's lived with his whole life, not to mention the kids too.

  • it wasnt exactly a fast conversion my friend. he was being turned since the second movie, and that was a 3 year difference from the third movie. palpatine kept feeding his ego and telling him that he would become all powerful and his mastery of the force would be rivaled by no other.

  • I think the killing of the jedi-in-training was a classic -- both real life and mythological-- move to stamp out opposition. We see this in the bible story of how Herod slaughtered all the young boys in Bethlehem for insurance and more recently the killing fields of Pol Pot.

The Emperor knew "what must be done" in order to secure his power.

This will happen again if the world doesn't learn what Lucas was trying to tell us in Star Wars.

  • yes it was a token move of weeding out potential resistance. however, i doubt that lucas was trying to convey a message of peace in these movies as that was not his goal nor is he one to push religious beliefs such as these into the minds of an audience.

  • Correct. Lucas was simply making modern myth based on Joseph Campbell's "monomyth". Lucas did this using stylistic elements drawn from serials, Kurosawa, Westerns, his own imagination etc.

The Force (perceived as religion by the Imperial bureaucrat) was meant, by Lucas, to be a symbolic generic representation of all human faiths.

  • i agree with your statement about lucas generalizing religion with the force. however, i dont think that the imperials counted the force as a religion.

  • Oh yeah, you're right. My mind was low on battery from lack of sleep. The Imperial must have been referring to the Sith "ancient religion"; the Force being a component as noted by Vader.

The ultimate geek dream is to Force choke all those bullys. Yeah.

  • lol. yeah, i admit, i have dreamed that dream. but then i woke up

  • All,

I'm not a real SW geek, but maybe you could answer this...

Did Anakin ever use the Force choke BEFORE he turned to the dark side? Was the first time on his wife, Padme?

I know that it (Padme choke) was the first time SHOWN in episode III film, but perhaps someone else knows from an official book or something.

OK, I'll admit it...I'm part geek.

  • lol. yes that was the first time he used the force choke. as of right now i cant think of any other times before that he used force choke on anything.

  • Thanks!

  • lol. no problem.

  • ur sad divotion to that ancient religeon? it was a religeon in the jedi dont think the imperials knew or aknowlaged they were being ruled by the sith.

  • Now THAT was the nerdiest comment i have ever seen. Well done sir.

  • I found the nerdist comment ever. It's yours!

  • ..... try again

  • Where can i download ALL the series ?

  • I like when He uses His chocking....

Darth Vader: I find your lack of faith destu-

    bing

  • What does he say at :08 ?

    Technological terrum?

  • It's "Terror" and he means the Death Star as opposed to the "Force".

  • @EmperorTeepo technological terror

  • I remember when I was a child I was afraid of Vader.. But I love those movies and music, it's very good!

  • First you need a Video Capture Card. Any computer store should have one. Then, you need a program to capture the video. I have Windows Movie Maker. Hook up the DVD player or VCR, etc. and you're ready to roll.

Then, just import (capture) whatever you want. Edit, save as a movie file and you're ready to upload to yt or whatever.

  • I LOVE that line... "I find your lack of faith disturbing."

  • its probably the best line out of the whole series!!!!

  • the force is nothing to mess with, for it is the most power thing in the universe....

  • What I love so much about the line is how he could've said, "I find your lack of faith annoying", which would've been the more obvious choice given the circumstance. But the way he uses "disturbing" instead gives this really ironic twist to it, as though he's both insulted and personally concerned... despite obviously being powerful enough to kill the guy with a thought.

    Really brilliant writing!

  • yeahhhh the subtle implications of using certain words are really taken into consideration in the finest movies. I'm obsessed with analyzing that sort of stuff. For instance in the dark knight press calls him "the" batman, sort of giving into the idea of a mask. The joker calls him "a" batman usually though, making it seem as if he regards him as disposable. Language is fascinating.

  • Nicely said!

  • he shoulda said:" I find your lack of faith disturbing.... so pissoff " like the vid on youtube titled: Vader said what

go check it out its fucking awsome

  • somebody please answer me WHY DOES HE HAVE TO ANSWER TO THEM SHEEP

  • My guess is that since Anakin never went 100% Dark Side, Darth Vader could not be shown by George Lucas as an absolutely evil character at all times. Vader doesn't force choke this guy to death, because Lucas really thought out the script.

  • @MidNightRider2001 hahahahahahaha "really thought out the script" good one.

  • @MidNightRider2001

Oooor, Vader Just didn't have the political right or ability to execute such high-ranking imperial military officials at whim. Remember that None of these gys knew Palp was a sith lord, and having everything force-related hush-hush between him and vader, didn't give him muvh "official" status in the Imperial military next to people such as Moffs and their court. Wouldn't be smart to act with the knowledge of being the only 2 guys that matters, out in the open, would it? =3

  • @MidNightRider2001 I find your faith in George Lucas' ability to plan ahead disturbing. I doubt he ever thought that far ahead/back. ;)

  • @PrinceDimeXI Vader is just a servant to the Emperor. he technically doesnt hold a rank in the imperial forces, he only represents the emperor in to the imperial commanders, so thats why he must answer to them sheep.

  • he's grand moff tarkin played by peter cushing

  • That old guy thinks he can tell Vader what to do? The only reason Darth Vader didn't pop that guy's skull like a grape is that he didn't feel like it.

    lol

  • *Sigh* ... Is Darth Vader gonna have to choke a bitch?

  • He can tell Vader what to do because Palpatine (Vader's master) left Tarkin to keep Vader under control.

  • Tarkin dosen't really have any control over Vader. Palpatine had both of them placed on board the Death Star so that both of them would check on one another to make sure that none of them would betray him. And besides, Vader dosen't respond to Tarkin in a way a soldier responds to a superior officer.

  • dont mess with Vader motherfucker!

  • Go Vader! I love that scean.

  • this scene is BADDASS!!

  • That's fuck'in hard..

  • if he was thinking he would not have opened his mouth the fool

  • thats why i would never fuck with him. What the hell was he thinking?

  • why is it in black and white?

  • Good question. When I imported the clip from my 20 year-old video tape, I noticed that the color was distorted. Rather than reimport the clip from a new source, I converted it to Black and White, and it looked okay. And I went that route.

  • That guy got what was coming to him.

Mock the force, and you'll get a whooping!

  • @Brolly5 Well obviously he deserved that. It would be like going to work and telling your boss: your religion is shit. Your Gonna probably get fired, and fired by darth is ussually a chokin.

  • LMFAO !! best scene hahaha, that guy was the biggest DUMBASS how the hell do you act a smart ass to VADER he shoulda died

  • You bet! "that guy was the biggest DUMBASS how the hell do you act a smart ass to VADER" That guy was a jackass, no question, but the scene kind of shows Vader isn't completely evil otherwise it would have been out with the light saber and off with the head! As for me all I'd say is, "Yes, Lord Vader, No, Lord Vader, Whatever you say Lord Vader" It's a classic clip.
