  • I remember when this video came out . I have a faint memory of it being made on the cheap by the band and their friends. I DZO LOVE IT

  • bLACK-OUT ANGELS SING TO ME?

  • this is my ong... NO you really don't understand ...THIS IS MY SONG

  • i think this song is about the illuminati (hence pyramid song). In the video, it shows buildings under water. This could mean, our society is being submerged under illuminati rule. The big white figure, could be god, looking down at us and how we've been taken under control. And how he sits in the chair at the end, could show that god cant get over how what he created, was taken over. Or, however directed the video, got extremely high and thought this up

  • The end gets me everytime.

  • Hi everyone,

I recorded this song at my friends house today and I'd like to know what you guys think of thel lyrics, sound, voice, etc. A bit of a comment or advise always helps :)

    Here's the link

    watch?v=C1yvNq66vcU

    THanks so much ! =)

  • I've just discovered Radiohead but I already love them so much

  • @88HUSE you're in for a wild ride

  • @XExodusX7 The video is. Not the song. I think Thom Yorke said something about a theory that one day time will repeat itself, meaning that when we die, all will start again, hence the lyrics 'nothing to fear'.

  • I don't care what anyone says on this comment board. This is, by far, one of the most beautifully composed pieces of music I have ever heard.....few songs come close or compare to...and if they do they're probably other radiohead songs so what up

  • I bet you guys haven't seen the 'Lotus Flower' deleted scenes yet - this is the stuff Thom Yorke didn't want you to see! Just search 'Lotus Flower Deleted Scenes'

  • I don't think it matters which video you go to watch, just scroll down and there will be someone arguing in the comments setcionLOL. Actually try ullrich schnauss I don't think people argue on his pages. not too many followers I suppose

  • Please pay no attention to the insane commenter below, his thoughts are in no way associated to the good men and women of the Radiohead fan base, we hold no grudge against Coldplay nor do we "HATE PEOPLE" or randomly assume what bands people like without any coherent evidence. We are also fully aware that Led Zeppelin was criticized for stealing music a hell of alot more times than Coldplay.

  • @antisadism you are a fuck

  • @joshuacayle shhhhhh

  • I used to think Coldplay was bad, then I stopped being an subjective dickhead and actually bothered to listen to ALL their music, not just a couple of songs, to me, you cant judge a band without listening to AT LEAST 75% of their music, not just listen to "Viva la vida and violet hill" and grade them based on that, Coldplay's best songs are the most underrated ones with less than 2 million views. "God put a smile on your face, politik, daylight, a whisper, etc"

  • None of Coldplays music is art....it's a pile of shit, i hope they just quit

  • @joshuacayle this aint cold paly idiot

  • @willhelmz123 if your dumbass wouldve read like 4 more comments down you might have been able to figure out why i said that about coldplay...dumb fucking idiot....and no coldplay is not art....thats why they got sued for steling satrianis music god damn fools....this is whats wrong with music today....i bet all you fucks out there support nickelback and theory for a deadman and stupid drunk frat boy music....I HATE PEOPLE...And You

  • @joshuacayle People like you are perfect examples of the reason I don't go on the internet drunk.

  • @kyletheenigma and people like you are the reason america keeps getting dumber

  • @joshuacayle Just stop, buddy. ^^

  • @joshuacayle You need to calm down. You don't have the right to criticize coldplays work. They may not be a great band, I don't really like them to be honest, but that doesn't mean they are shit. You have your taste in music and other people have theirs. Just accept it and stop being a music snob.

  • Fighting in a forumn on internet is like winning the Special Olympics either way your still retarded.

Stop drinking so much coffee maybe you will not be so angry.

Something tells me you mom and dad are divorced you suffer from lack of attention or bad childhood.

I am sorry. Take a deep breath and remember you are worth something.

What exactly I am not sure. If you are reading this you are as pathetic as I thought.

    Have a nice day.

    @joshuacayle

  • @joshuacayle Is that why "clocks" is ranked 490th greatest song of all time and "A rush of blood to the head" got incredible reviews and was ranked 473rd greatest album of all time? Because the stuff they make isnt art? Who the hell are you to define wether or not what art is or not. Do you even know what art is?. Just because Radiohead is superior to Coldplay in everyway, doesnt mean Coldplay is bad. They use REAL instruments, they work hard and write. They deserve the high reviews they got.

  • im not trolling but.. we dont do alot right but british music cant be beaten

  • something hath not beauty if it hath not some weirdness to it

  • I love mimiru667 words and completely agree. This song is beyond beautiful and more on a spiritual level for me.

  • I dont know, if Coldplay's "A rush of blood to the head" Isnt art, then someone must have incredible standards to what art is.

  • @antisadism That's probably their best album, though. I enjoyed it, at least. Still not as good as Radiohead

  • Pyramid Song was my first Radiohead experience. My mind was invigorated to music for the first time.

  • I always imagine people going on a coach to heaven to this song. And heaven looks like a campsite in the midlands, and its a grey day in summer, with a bit of drizzle so the hills in the distance can't be seen clearly. Just thought I'd share that.

  • These guys have the weirdest music videos...But I love it.

  • Coldplay is so mainstream compared to Muse and Radiohead there is simply no comparrision, this is REAL ART.

  • Sad? This is one of the most uplifting songs I have ever heard in my life...

  • I LOVE the part when the drums kick in at 2:05!

  • is it still legal to run over twuts in your bright pink skoda or do you need written permission?

  • Is this the same key as Karma police? It sounds like the root is Am just like in Karma Police. Idk, I'm tired so I might be way off.

  • 0:00

  • So magical (L)

  • Follow me on twitter @AnAirbagSavedMe

I try to talk about radiohead as much as I can and i'm trying to get a decent following. It would mean a lot

    LONG LIVE RADIOHEAD <3

  • okay i love this just as much as the next guy but what the fudge is happening at the end of the video?

  • And raithrover1976 i like your describing word : ESSENTIAL . Thank you

  • the simple thing in this is that when people say this is depressing, they don ' t feel the good vibrations in it. All work about Radioread is exactelly that, they shows us messages of what is wrong in the world but their intentions is to proceduce good feelings of awakening mind and soul with their words and melody. There is no other band who can touch us like this. >Thas why it can only be a beautiful song and not depressing at all.

Peace to everyone who is looking for....

  • Why do 26 people dislike this song?

  • @Wasluis1971 because they dont get the awesome rhythm of it. I know, right? some people. Great song.

  • I don't understand why people think this is depressing music. It can be positive and uplifting as much as people think it's gloomy, and it annoys the hell out of me when people use in depressing scenes on the TV. I personally think this would work well in a scene of the Big Bang happening, or maybe being played as images of the universe's first ever life flash across the screen...

  • @Mimiru667 Hmmmm, I see it as starkly serious more than anything else. I understand how you can find it uplifting, but I feel it fits somber/revealing/critical images best.

  • @Mimiru667 Because people are stupid.

  • @Mimiru667 i think it can be both. i love the gloomy vibe of this song.

  • @Mimiru667 i agree if people actually looked at the lyrics they would see tht this song is actually an uplifting song. wen i hear it i somtimes cry tears of joy

  • @Mimiru667 Well.. Thom did dedicate the song in the Praha 09 performance to Franz Kafka.. That pretty much says it all..

  • @Mimiru667

    WELL SAID,MOTHERFUCKER....

  • @Mimiru667

I agree completely. Even though a lot of people would dismiss this band as miserable, I think it's very calming, beautiful music, and I really love the results they produce. I find it makes me much happier than almost any music in the charts at the moment, and will continue to do so. Hopefully, a lot of their listeners also feel this way.

I hope they don't stop making their music any time soon.

  • @Mimiru667 I know! I like to listen to radiohead when I'm creating or just chilling, not 'self blood harming'.

  • @Mimiru667 Completely agree, couldn't agree more if I tried. I am an avid Radiohead fan and I am sick to death of people putting radiohead in box saying they're depressing. They're just cynical and unable to open them selves up to the possibility of music. In this case, ignorance is definitely far from bliss.

  • I agree with some ot the comments here. Pablo Honey is the only mediocre album Radiohead have released. The rest are essential.

  • This is one of their songs that took me some getting used to. But now I love it.

  • All my lovers were there with me

    All my past and futures

And we all went to heaven in a little row boat

And there was nothing to fear, nothing to doubt

    Beautiful.

  • My favourite song in the planet!!!! In fact, I listened to it live and it made me cry out... Just gorgeous!!!!

  • Thanks Vevo for you five on the rise, I'll be sure to check out Andy Grammer after Pyramid Song.

  • I dont know what it is about this song...but it's so comforting and its just so Radiohead.

  • imagine this on Imax lol

    Viva Radiohead

  • I have never liked radiohead but when I told my friend this he made me listen to this song. It gave me goosebumps. Can't stop listening.

  • This makes me feel not exactly good, but reassures me that i can continue to exist in this world

  • @whiffleninny

    ha, i feel u bro

  • Radiohead didn't have any worst album. So what are you talking about? They're all amazing in their own way. I DO have my favorites, but there's no worst.

  • beautiful as ever

  • One of my favorites from amnesiac. extremely underrated masterpiece

  • Radiohead lives in my head. And I'm so head I'm reaching for my toes, but does that matter now that I'm shattered? I'm forever dreamin' and screamin' like a living hell, but it's a Vincent van Gogh drive-thru painting. Modern living isn't living at all. It's a trap for the soul where the ultimate goal is to reach in the pockets of those who have no pockets deep enough to satisfy the hunger of a paranoid culture.

  • Comment removed

  • Goosebumps.

  • there was nothing to fear and nothing to doubt..

  • 24 people are going to hell in a little row boat.

  • who ever says Pablo Honey is worst ,needs to get there ears waxed , Radiohead has not done a bad album

  • I always liked them, in childhood they were one of my favorite groups, but realistically there are several more brilliant electronic producers as Liam, let's say an Aphex Twin, Squarepusher, Venetian Snares, the duo from Boards Of Canada

  • not you , ament to say it .

  • Non riuscivo a trovare un modo per esplicitare la lietitudine e il buonumore che pervadono il mio animo da qualche giorno,e poi mi è tornato in mente questo stornello scanzonato e friccicarello..spero di potervi contagiare

  • One of the best videos ever, perfectly fitting for one of the best songs.

  • i remember when i first saw this video, i was chilling with 2 of my mate's. we were in a middle of a conversation when this song came on, we stopped taking and just sat in silence and listened. it was like we were hypnotized by the music and visuals. great song, great video

  • Interesting how people say that they think Radiohead are just as good as The Beatles, yet they say Radiohead's worst album was Pablo Honey...

  • @wdurant It was miles there worst album, and i think The Bends is the second worst

  • anyone listen to this and the whole time just wait for zeds dead's drop XD

  • amnesiac is their best album ever! !!!

  • @MEEKTOY haha good joke fella

  • Such a sad video, i dont think i really wanna watch this again, caz it got me thinknig if i was the last survivor of Earth, and it isnt a happy feeling. Just the lonliness, depression, things like that... Man, i feel so sad now, i think i might watch a happier Radiohead video.

  • StakyAll-It's just your opinion, like whether one likes cheeseburgers or pizza better...Coldplay has written many awesome songs, and Radiohead has a few stinkers, its called personal taste.

  • Does anyone know where to find Piano sheet music for this? cheers.

  • i wish i could be 1/3 as good as them

  • Radiohead aren't depressing... They just know how to create some beautiful music.

  • @JoveryourshoulderC beautiful and realistic.

  • @Herbert2892 yeah and that :)

  • @JoveryourshoulderC sometimes the most beautiful music is depressing. not always true though.

  • i feel so relex when i listen to this song

  • Radiohead songs have this unfathomable ability to lift my conciousness to higher dimensions and other spaces in time!

    Chesty x

  • @marymungoandmidge I know right! Only two things in music have done that for me: Radiohead's music(the complete package) and Jeff Buckley's voice

  • monumental like the title

  • This is the only Radiohead song I like.

Like the video, reminds me a bit like that game Metal Gear Solid.

  • this is actually the greatest piece of music ever written

  • Reminds me so much of my trip to Madrid!

  • 'nom nom nom' goes the pyramid song on my soul.

  • My email address is a line out of this song :)

  • @didgemonster i will try each line until i get you

  • @mantoacuatico Have fun :) potential infinite possibilities.

  • Still gives me chills.

  • zelda ocarina of time is the best video game ever, radiohead are the best musicians ever. Two of my favorite things share a parallel at last! may I now rest peacefully.

  • This is probably one of my favourite songs by them. And one of my favourite albums. Radiohead is the best.

  • coldplays 1st 2 albums had some good songs and were easy listening but in a million years will never produce 1 song as good as radiohead. the best and most original band ever.... fact

  • @StakyAll The best and most original band ever AFTER the Beatles.

  • @TheArtOfPanik after The Beatles there was also a Pink Floyd, a Led Zeppelin, The Clash, Joy Division, and all these happen to be British, it's simply incredible how much musical vision Brits have, and I say this as a Hungarian

  • @RedWhiteGreenBandit please do not forget the vision and talent of one Liam Howlett a.k,a Master H of a tiny little band called "the Prodigy''

  • @StakyAll , i agree with you 100%. But we all know coldplays big inspiration is radiohead, i don't see it like a competition. simply because radiohead will always be the only touching soul band ever.

  • @StakyAll No... The Beatles were actually.

  • @StakyAll I disagree... two words, PINK FLOYD

    XDDD

  • I think its interesting Coldplay's "Parachutes" won the grammy over "Amnesiac"-Both are incredible albums....What do you guys think?

  • @JediJonas007 parachutes is a really good album, amnesiac was made by aliens..just my opinion.

  • This song is the only one that will be played at my funerals:

"there is nothing to feel, nothing to doubt"

  • @stevenaudet

Actually, it's "Nothing to fear, nothing to doubt"

  • @stevenaudet lol how many funerals are you going to have?

  • Kid A and Amnesiac simply the best albums of the last 20 years ...with OK Computer, and then especially cno these two CDs, have abandoned the more famous and more profitable British pop for enter in music's history, creating a genre that represents the synthesis of the last 50 years of rock music (jazz, Electronic, krautrock, pop , ambient, progressive, etc. ...

  • Learnt how to play this on my rattley ole piano but I doubt I will EVER do it the justice it deserves...so simple but so complex

  • simply incredible>3

  • One of my very favorite Radiohead songs. It's absolutely unique and unforgetable.

  • i think its the classic problem for all mega bands, one album has to fight tooth and nail to be considered against previous releases, once a band has made 3 or 4 seriously good albums, us critics expect every consequent album to shatter the universe. this is a classic album as have almost all of radioheads releases

  • 2+2=5

I had to put that down

  • Why does everyone say Amnesiac is their worst album!?!?! It's one of my favorites!!!

    Pablo Honey is the worst!!!!!!

    Love this song

    Love Radiohead

  • @JunoCat16 Amnesiac is nowhere near their worst

    In rainbows

    Kid A

    OK Computer

    Amnesiac

    Hail to the Thief

    The Bends

    Pablo Honey

  • @JunoCat16 lol. yeah Pablo Honey is their most derivative record I guess. I still love tracks like Vegetable though. Creep can fuck off though..I just wished they had released Kid A and Amnesiac as a double album.I think that was their first (and maybe only) major mistake. At the time there was a feeling that they had held back better tracks when they released Kid A. True or not , that was the sentiment flying around.

  • @JunoCat16 they do not understand the concept of this album I agree with you

  • @JunoCat16 I liked Pablo Honey

  • @JunoCat16 it is my favourite album aswell , who thinks tht .need to admit it takes time to get used to you but after tht u get to understand and really enjoy the songs , all of them !! its somethin totally different from anything else i heard .

Pablo honey IS shite . compared to the rest

  • @JunoCat16 NONE are their worst albums, they wrote the material in different eras and different stages in their lives, they all sound different and every album has at least 5 or 6 songs that I could never skip when they come up on shuffle!

  • @PakMachino Agree.

  • @JunoCat16 yeah I totally agree!

  • @JunoCat16 Its Radiohead, there is no "worst".

  • Is it true Thom Yorke said this song was the best thing they ever recorded?

  • the only song that i would like to sing in a karaoke.....!!!

  • ive often fantasised about this playing over the last scene of lost

  • @boyleb1 That would be absolutely incredible!!

  • One of the best songs ever.

  • Beautiful, stunning, haunting.

  • i jumped in the river and what did I see?

    black-eyed angels swimming with me

  • I jumped in the river what did I see? I hollow, cold mirror staring at me.

  • If you speed this song up, you'll find it's hidden rhythm.

  • I love when he says at the beginning "i jumped into the river what did i see..." so quiet, pretty exciting...

  • one of the best songs of all time.

  • Ha i cracked it! its not in 4/4 although its an over all cycle of 16 beats its actually two bars of 3/4 followed by two bars of 5/4! Count it! it works out! and it'll fell a lot better than counting it in 4/4! =)

  • @1Weckl1 it's actually 9/8 then 6/8 then 9/8 etc., I saw a sheet music version and it was exact :)

  • @DonUzaki The music is in 4/4 time. If you'll notice the notation you posted: 9 + 9 + 6 = 24 and 24/3 = 8. Basically, 9/8 + 6/8 + 9/8 is a complicated way of notating two measure of 4/4 time. I don't know where you got that sheet music, but whoever dictated it didn't know what he/she was doing. It was written with a built in triplet subdivision, but the music acts in 4/4 time and 4 bar phrases. If you need proof, note the drum beat and melody. They revolve around 4 bars of 4/4 time.

  • @coasterman16 Yes, that's true. It's just a complicated version of 4/4. That doesn't take anything away from the fact that this is one of the best songs ever though :p

  • @coasterman16 Yep. Actually, I think I'd transcribe it in 12/8 to emphasize the triplet feel.

  • I feel like I am in a post apocalyptic land where this song is being somehow echoed

  • the problem with 'Amnesiac' is that Radiohead had already made so much good music before it that people just kind of ignored it... in my opinion.

  • hits me deep man......

  • gentle but swelling, like a calm ocean :) beautiful

  • very post apocalyptic.

  • OMG O_o try listening to two windows of this open at the same time, at different points in the song.. I yhae the beginning of the song playing and then the end of it playing, each word just behind each other so it creates a crazy echo effect,. It's actually so beautiful and hypnotizing. Wow.

  • Each to their own and all but with a statement like that, there must be nothing up in your empty head. What are you on about?

  • @facilitiesUK

    "Lay down all thought

    Surrender to the void

    It is shining

    It is shining

    That you may see

    The meaning of within

    It is being

    It is being"

  • @Christiaan33 I think it is easily arguable that Radiohead is second only to The Beatles.

  • @coasterman16 hmm... second only to Pink Floyd yes... but The Beatles? In my opinion, no one is second to the beatles. They are like Gods to (pop) music.

  • @Christiaan33 Second implies a lower rank, not the equivalent. I'm saying no one can touch The Beatles, but Radiohead is the closest.

  • He doesen't mention how high he jumps into the river from. My guess it's very high.

  • dont drink the water please.

  • We should all 'return home' as we die. Complete the celestial journey as it were. Great fucking song! Comment is 4 video tho.

  • eve

    trulobgüeyts

  • Reminds me of Zelda on the N64. Jesus that game was good.

  • Not as good as Zelda on the Snez. Fuck me that was a game.....

  • You can't be serious!? You got to ride a horse and play a frickin Ocarina on the N64. A frickin Ocarina! I respect your opinion however and do not wish to argue about a computer game on a Radiohead video. Though judging by most Radiohead video comments it would go by pretty unnoticed. Muse, anyone?

  • Thom Yorke would out sing Matt Bellamy

  • @spencerkeegan don't go there. Controversal topics cause chaos

  • True. Cheers for the advice.

But he would also out sing Chris Martin.

  • too late
