while this was an effort..if you realize that on the original marvin did everyone one of the voices on this you understand that you cant touch what was perfect
@villafeliche I have to agree with you-not bad!. I'll give whomever a A for effort, but this is like the white peoples version stripped and bland-devoid of true feelings. The SOUL and core of the melody have been taken away. Nice guitars, but if you remove Marvin's dynamic voice nothing else would hold my attention. The 1976 Leon Ware Marvin Gaye original has stood the test of time for a reason.
This is cool, but the original was PERFECT! Good try, but you can't improve on perfection. The effort is appreciated though. Respectfully, from one fan to another.
Clear...Musical timing is right...Spanish guitars nicely blended with melody and Marvin's coloration of notes... Very...Very...Well done... It takes a lot for me to sign on and comment... I had to pay you my compliments... This is good music...taken up not one...but several notches! Give us more.
Not Bad.... But the instrumentation slightly over powers his lush Harmonies. It's the urgency in his voice. That makes the original so beautiful. However, this is a decent attempt!

I must say, this is one of the best remixes I've ever heard! The bossa nova and African rhythms are just lovely with Marvin's soulful voice!!!! AMAZING!
This is far too cluttered for my taste. It's not that I am an minimalist by any stretch of the imagination but this is an example of layering for layering's sake, without regard for time signature or key. This is my all-time favorite song--I just can't.
@jcurry3school Creativity is not throwing a whole bunch of sounds up against a musical wall to see what sticks. Overdone and overblown. The link to the BEST "I WANT YOU" REMIX EVER IS FAVORITED ON MY PAGE.
i like this because it has a jazzier influence as opposed to just throwing some synths or auto-beats or whatever people do these days... i think that its very fitting, especially since i believe that jazz and ballads was the direction mr.gaye really wanted to go in...nice job!
@Derricotte89T - I believe the musical style - in terms of rhythm - is classic early 60's Brazilian bossa nova (the most famous song of which is Girl From Ipanema written by Antonio Carlos Jobim, the most famous composer in the style) except it is sped up greatly. There are all sorts of bossa nova compilations that are great and easily found - the soundtrack for the film Next Stop Wonderland is superb.
i love interesting twists to classic songs, this is nice but almost sounds like an Acapella, the thing missing is the beat, but its nice none the less - 3.75 stars ( ourt of 5)
i like this better than the original

This NOT Sexual Healing is Marvin Gaye's best song EVER. The raw sexuality. This and Distant Lover are his two best masterpieces.

With all my respect ... not bad, but it´s like trying to remix Mozart, you just can´t do it better. Not bad however.

Marvin Gaye's is the artist that I most identify with.
I tried emulate his music earlier in my life.
This brother was so sensual...
His Music did provide sexual healing for many of us during lovemaking
The first time I made love, "I want You" was playing on my cassette deck.
His music helped me, and HEALED during some very trying times......
These songs are dedicated to Nicci. Girl you were my first love
I think of you often....Thank You for allowing me in your life
