I've only been into kpop for a few months so I may be missing something, but what's this religious influence that you speak of?

@vacant2012 It's kinda hard to explain, but it's about religion (Churchianity) and it's side effects on the society as a whole...that guilt or fear if you will. Most people are stuck with choosing sides, either you're a saint (by church's standards) or a bad person, but most of the time you end up a hypocrite that's just scared of life. In Japan, they seem not to have that problem...they don't have to prove anything to anyone, unlike in America or South Korea.

Seemingly inconsequential stuff seems to be a big deal there, such as idols getting caught with marijuana and their management cancelling their soon to be released record because of it.. it does seem most idols try to emphasize their relative innocence too.

I thought that had more to do with the general culture rather than a specific religious influence, but I don't presume to be an expert on either culture by any means.

I'm not making Japanese seem perfect by any means, and let's not forget the highest suicide rates in the world that Japan is famous for. I have to admit I don't know too much about Jpop.. I had a vague interest in it around 7 years ago and my interest is reignited after getting into kpop.. heck, which is why I happened upon this MV. :P

@vacant2012 Yeah, but that's not how it used to be, it's a fairly recent phenomenon. If you ever looked into subliminal messaging, you'll notice a lot of American and Korean music acts incorporate Illuminati, Masonic, whatever-you-wanna-call-it symbolism, and I'm beginning to see a similar trend in J-pop...and imo it's the K-pop (and the American mainstream) that's triggering it, and again that's strictly my observation.

Every artist lip synchs to their video for the original recorded songs. It has to be the same song they recorded in the studio, after all. Its not a new concept....o_O--now its when they lip synch at their CONCERTS that it becomes annoying.

honestly, why would an artist strain their voice unless they're live. this is a MUSIC VIDEO. look up videos and how they make it. Mariah Carey, Britney Spears, Nelly friken Furtado - they're not singing live in the video. why? Because there's no point. Of course they're going to use the studio recording. Goodness - ignorance really IS bliss.
