I'm happy to have inspired you to learn it. I agree that it is a great piece. And you can do so much with it. I play is exactly as it appears in the songbook, but take a look at what others have posted and you'll see that it can be played with lots of embellishment, as well as with changes in tempo and rhythm. Good luck with it.
Very nice. I really think it is great that you are posting your progress. Me, I'm not brave enough to do so yet. Also I like that you are posting the settings you are using on the Roland. Thanks again.
I admit that it requires bravery to post these beginner pieces. However, posting motivates me to practice to play them better than I otherwise would. I admit however that it slows my progress. But it is all good training and I am satisfied with my progress.
I got the idea about including instrument and recording details from a guitar player in another channel. Thanks for letting me know that it is helpful to you. I will continue to do so.
Je vous remercie beaucoup pour s'apercevoir que je fais des progrès. Apprendre à jouer d'un instrument de musique est une énorme entreprise, je suis sûr que vous connaissez déjà. Vos encouragements me poussent à continuer.
With all the advanced accordionists on YouTube posting fully embellished versions of "Dark Eyes", I do admit that I was nervous about posting this student level version. But even in simplified form, with all trills, arpeggios and appoggiaturas removed, an underlying beauty still remains. That is the true mark of great music. I hope my post will inspire others at my level to give it a try.
For the same reason, I do not uploaded this Russian gypsy Waltz, there are so complicated performances, that you already loose the thred of the original nice melody.
Thank you Mike for the postiive encouragement. I was actually very stressed while playing this. I must be improving because now you don't notice it as much. That's nice to hear, but I wonder if I will ever really feel relaxed. I hope so.
Thank you Fran. I read from one of your comments that you are still experiencing shoulder problems. If I had a spare one I'd send it to you. I pray for your recovery.
ha ha Leon...Thanks for the get well wishes. I discovered recently on my birthday that I am not getting younger. It should ease somewhat this summer when I can swim. I could join the Y but have decided not to be a slave to my accordion....I try to limit my practice time to an hour or less per day...Fran
Thank you Bobby. As you can see, I finally did learn "Dark Eyes". I look forward to one day playing a fully embellished version of this piece. By the way, this is the first video with audio recorded using the new PreSonus audio interface that I purchased with your help. It works great. What a deal.
Gracias por los comentarios amables acerca de mi música. Usted es un acordeonista más avanzado con respecto a mí. Su aprobación Me han inspirado mucho para mejorar.
I have never known this song before but you play it very smoothly and the orchestraitions were nicely placed for this song. I am sure this video will help a lot of Hopeful students in their studies.
