One of favourite films. Masterpiece of Director James Whale, openly homosexual. Many think elements of this in film. Monster unable to fit in. Whale sadly thought to have committed suicide in swimming pool. 1:00 Monster's Mate? 1:59 More Hammy than Larry. 2:19 flattery, Greece would not like that description. 3:51-4:33 recap. 5:11 Twilight Zone. 8:11 IT'S ALIVE! Boris broke hip during filming of this scene. 9:07 owl death symbolism. 9:18 odd face at seeing Monster there.
@JayAreGee666 The funny thing is, that actress played an equally loud, obnoxious, scream- happy woman in 'The Invisible Man'! In that, she was like one of those characters that are so annoying they're funny, kind of like Evil Ed in 'Fright Night.'
Interesting fact, the opening scene with the Shelly's and Lord Byron was exactly how Mary first told the story of Frankenstein. Apparently, the idea came to her from a dream

One of the great '30s films. Just about everyone loves this movie. So many great lines, such good acting, etc. As the New York Times reviewer said, in 1935, Karloff "is the monster." He is so fantastic. He makes you cry, as well as scares you. The scenes with the blind hermit are very moving. And that Dr. Pretorius- an amazing character. And the Bride, too! One of my favorite classic movies, for sure. Thanks for posting!
thank you sooo much for uploading this(: this movie always scared me when i was litt;e :( im 15 now and it still scares me :D but it brings back the good memories(:

Who needs today's 'torture-porn' garbage like SAW [apart from those with sick minds?] when you can savor and relish sheer class like this?

@JayAreGee666 My only problem with her scene with the monster is that she didn't play it big and broad enough; too restrained.
