  • With regard to the double needle technique, are both of the bobbins on the same holder? Also, will this technique work with any sewing machine? i'm using an older Singer, and i don't know whether I can use a double needle with it or not.

  • This double needle thing confuses me, what exactly do you mean besides double thread besides, thread through twice? I'm really sorry, i'm sure i'm making this sound more complicated than it is.

  • Really helpful

  • Thank you so much for posting this! Your video is exactly what I needed to help me!

  • I love your videos! They're so informative and detailed. Do you have any tips on sewing chiffon?

  • Do you have/ or could you make a video on the poofy sleeves that you are wearing in this video? :)

  • how do i use the double needle if i usually insert the bobbin in the bottom.

  • @sj1605

you need to have 2 bobbins, one for the bottom (the bottom thread) and the other for the top along with the spool.

  • Thank u :0) so so much! Simple to follow. This video resolved all my problems. X

  • what do you think about Modal fabric?

  • @pwakamole Modal is just a synonym for rayon.

  • YOU are soooo informative! Thank you! I made a pair of yoga pants and didn't take all of this into consideration and the pants are falling apart after only wearing them for a day!! Now I know why and how to adjust for it! THANKS again.

  • new subscriber... a huge thank you for this video!

  • Hi... I have been wanting to do a clear plastic bag but i'm scared of when Sewing the plastic together it would rip or tear ...do you have any Ideas on how to sew plastic together? anything you can think of will help thanks =D

  • @mylove4crafts Probably using a zig-zag stitch is your best bet, as a straight stitch would crate a fault of it to rip along.

  • @Evange thanks for your help .....I want to tell you thanks for all of your information and I had a great time seen you dance with your harem pants you seem like a great person so keep it up ..... Thank :D

  • I am going to get myself a twin needle.... for sure! Thanks for the lovely video!

  • Good info. I've been wanting to try a double needle, but haven't gotten around to purchasing one yet.

  • can a double needle be used on all sewing machines???

  • @chickypoo1012 Yes, It's the same as a regular needle at the top, but it splits into two part way down. From a mechanical perspective, it's the same as a zig zag stitch on the bottom, and the same as a straight stitch on the top. So if your sewing machine can handle a zig zag stitch, it can handle a double needle.

  • @Evange thanks :) also if your useing a double needle do u set your machine to a zig zag or a straight stitch?

  • @chickypoo1012 Straight. If you use zig-zag it'll hit the plate and break.

Although, on some modern machines you might have to set the stitch type to zig-zag, but the stitch width to zero.

Basically whatever setting allows you to pick up the bobbin thread in a zig zag pattern, while remaining straight on the top.

  • Thank you very much for this tutorial....I really need this!:)

  • I wish I knew how to use a sewing machine. THanks for the tip!

  • I was wondering what to do when you are sewing a knit fabric and the sewing machine "eats" the fabric at the beginning of the row of stitches? I keep having problems with this :( This video was really helpful by the way!

  • @WifeAndMommy83 Yeah, that happens to me sometimes too. I think it's because the fabric is getting pushed under the plate and getting stuck so it can no longer advance.

Try using a fresh needle. If you're still having trouble after that, start the seam half way down, and sew it in two sections.

  • @WifeAndMommy83 I usually have the same problem, what I usually do is use a piece of tissue paper and put it underneath both fabrics when beginning to sew the seam. I only do this at the beginning and end. You can also use this technique when sewing with dainty fabrics, like chiffon, but with the entire seam.

  • This was so helpful! Thank you:)
