  • You all do know that the "PRO-LIFE" movement is nothing but a scam, NO?

I mean, in the "PRO-LIFE" movement, they only care about the unborn. All bets are off once you have life. Hell, many of the "PRO-LIFERS" aren't for PRO-LIFE issues concerning those already born. Which makes their PRO-LIFE stance mute, no?

  • ... Because nothing says caring for the people of your State like telling them they do not deserve affordable health care.

    Joe Lieberman IS A FRAUD!

    Joe Lieberman is an OPPORTUNIST!

Joe Lieberman should be OUT OF OFFICE!

    .

  • About Joe Lieberman. . . .

    Key Tov!

  • Will Lieberman listen to his conscience or to the ones who bribe and enrich him and his family to keep a single payer system at bay? I know it's not a single payer option on the table right now, but at least a public option is a weak step in the right direction, but a step in the right direction nonetheless.

  • This is about as laughable as the Allentown SEIU saying they'll "look into" the Eagle Scout who voluntarily cleaned up a walking path for a merit badge.

Unions will be the death of this country.

  • Unions helped to build the middle class in our great nation. One of the reasons the rich got richer and the rest of us got screwed over the past 30 years is that the corporations worked to destroy unions.

Thankfully the tide is turner on the crooks that ran this nation the past eight years.

  • Yeah, boy, the tide sure is turning. Now unions can run roughshod without any repercussions. They can physically assault people without facing jailtime. They can hire rent-a-mobs to harass people. They can steer the agenda of the White House and determine that healthcare reform is okay only if they're not subject to it. They can destroy businesses by making it too expensive to compete with out-sourced companies. Yep, you're right. Unions are a good thing. Do you also vote straight-ticket?

  • No, I don't vote straight-ticket. In fact two weeks ago I did a write-in candidate in the NJ Gov race because I could not vote for Corzine. What I do is THINK about a topic, study history, and make informed decisions. I know history and know that unions have made life better for millions.

  • At one time, perhaps. Certain professions may still require unions (i.e. fire dept., police, miners) due to the hazardous nature of their work. As it stands, there are quite enough labor laws on the books to keep grocery store clerks and cafeteria employees safe on the job. They do nothing but leech profits from the company at large and facilitate job out-sourcing to other countries. If you can't see that, then you're blind (willingly or otherwise).

  • " leech profits"??? How about protect workers from management whose ONLY interest is profits, not is what is best for worker, the workplace, or our communities? You are the one who is blind to the truth that as unions lost power over the past 40 years middle class income has remained flat. The corporatists are destroying our nation, W. the best example.

  • You can't see it, but I'm playing the world's smallest violin for you. Unions lost power because they kill the companies they're involved with. By and large, the middle class do not belong to unions, so there goes that argument. Corporations (with the innovation they create) grew our country to where it is today. As I said before, there are enough labor laws on the books, so there goes that argument. Unions will be the death of this country.Btw, how much is your union paying you?Oh, you pay them

  • For the first time in MANY years I am at a job that does not have a union. So what do I see?

    - Some workers with health care and some without health care. (I get health care)

    - Some workers get raises and some do not. Many times the raises go to those that keep their mouths shut.

    - A less dynamic and caring workforce. (Many people don't give a shit.) Very different than places where there are unions.

I know first-hand the benefits and drawbacks of unions - that is why I support them.

  • So people deserve raises regardless of the quality of work they do? As for health care, I personally believe it should be mandatory to be given by employers (assuming they are full-time employees). As for the workforce, that's likely an opinion and could be influenced by more than just "we're not union, life sucks".

As a geologist who used to work for coal companies, I'm also familiar with unions...and how bad they are...

  • So you condemn all unions because of your experience with the coal unions. Nice. My experience has been good, although I can see the downside. But there is much greater danger without anyone to stand up for the worker. Without that only management's lackeys will get raises. I have seen that too.

  • I just don't see the logic in everyone getting a raise regardless of performance. If it's a business, then it's a business (which means it must make money), so there has to be a certain level of expectations. As far as unions go, they were useful for workplace safety, but like I said, there's enough laws on the books for that these days...

  • I guess you have never worked at a place where only those who "go along to get along," who are the favorites of management, who never point out where the problems are get the raises. I have. Absolute power corrupts weather it is on Wall Street, government, the union hall, or the managers office. A union is one of many factors that can moderate the danger of absolute power in the other areas.

  • Do you realize you just contradicted yourself?

  • Let's pray for a trial in the seiu beating case of kenneth gladney, that seiu criminals won't be allowed to escape justice for their acts of violence with help of allies in democrat political faction.

Joe Lieberman, we pray for your safety from the veiled threats of this violence-prone organization seiu.

  • The "clergy" should be taking care of the needs of their congregants and not expecting the government to do it. That's Biblical. Our church does it.

Oh...wait a minute...they're praying to Obama and their Bible is the SEIU handbook, right?

  • Funny how when the "clergy" opposes gay marriage, they are seen as saviors by the dying Republican Party. But when there is a simple prayer vigil by the left, outside a Senators home, then that's going too far. Right wing extremists will be the death of the GOP.

An early Good Riddance to that insane "ideology" known as social conservativism.

  • I have a shorter way of spelling REPUBLICAN...

    ... HYPOCRITES!

  • Are these folks serious? They are talking about what is right? You are joking me. These people praying that have no clue about the sacredness of life and the obligation we have to the weakest of society. This is an epic fail.

  • Good for you Joe. Stand up to these thugs trying to commandeer our national health system for their own profit.

  • who knew liberals prayed? i wonder who they pray to

  • Protesting outside someone's house who won't vote for federal funding of abortions = good

Protesting outside an abortion clinic to stop the murder of innocent children = bad, and terrorism.

  • Prayer vigil by the far left. Lol! Dear Obama... help us to promote more and more abortions with Pelosicare.
