  • beast hellfire 5stars

  • Many thanks.

  • OMG..........That is impresive! There must be well over 1000t behind that old dear but what a performance. Glad to see she is back in traffic with 401 today(28/3/09) with 37670 out next week and 37425 going for OTMR fitting after the MNR gala. THE TRACTORS ARE BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thanks very much. The original video runs for over four minutes from when I first heard the loco approaching, just lucky really as I had no idea it was out working !

Missed 401 this morning as I was at work...

  • That sound is what has always captured my interest in the superb EE Type 3! I remember many years ago being at Liskeard in the dark and hearing 37207 climbing the spiral from Moorswater with a clay train. Made the hairs stand up!

  • Rumour has it that when new, the "EE Type 3" was the quietest diesel on the railway. But they had trouble with the exhaust system cracking, so they took out the silencer completely. No more cracking problems, but now it's apprximately the loudest diesel on the railway!

  • @Kromaatikse Interesting theory that, not heard about it before.

  • Marvellous! The jammieness of it all!

  • Note that huge "deadweight" at the rear of the train !
