This is the first recording I heard of Karen Clark. I was really impressed and knew she was destined for greatness with a vocal gift like that. She had the clarity and flexibility of an Aretha Franklin who was the pre eminent gospel vocals given that Amazing Grace album was cut 5 years earlier and still the standard by which females gospel singers were measured.

I love this version. I believe she was a little younger than 19. This was the southwest michigan state choir album in 1977.
