  • I cut it in the middle, just below where the seeds end. Then I pull the sides back with my bare hands, stopping just before the stem. This prevents me from getting any seeds at all. I compost the seeds and stem. I keep the ribs on and juice the whole thing. Amazing how good pepper juice tastes! I use the pulp in soups (with carrot pulp, for example, and/or celery pulp and/or tomato pulp, with spices, broth, water and sometimes soup mixes).

  • No offense to the poster of the video, but this is the "novice" method for slicing a bell pepper. You obviously never went to culinary school or had any formal cooking training. You slice a bell pepper from top to bottom on four sides of the stem. When you do that, you're left with nothing but the core. Then slice the four larger pieces into smaller strips and you're done.

  • That's a really fiddly way to do it, and the girl can't handle a knife. It's much easier and less wasteful to just cut the pepper in half and scoop out the core and membrane with your hands.

  • I find it easiest if, when cutting off the top, one leaves the stem intact (i.e. don't cut all the way through). Then just pull at the stem and all of the inside membrane and seeds come right out. THEN I wash it to get rid of any remaining seeds.
