This is the sad relics of colonialism. Ads like this are idiotic and unfortunate. The ancient Indians did not have such colour biases. The ancient Indian paintings of "light" skinned people show yellow/sand coloured people with black hair, Indo-Iranians. So they were still dark compared to pale northern europeans, who even the Greeks mocked for their pale skin. Obseesion with being light was made worse by phenomenon of coloniolism.
