I saw these guys in a club in San Anselmo, CA called the Lion's Share in 1972 and (even though I'm not a C&W fan) they were damn good even then. By the way, we sneaked in. What the hell, I was only 19.

oh man, saw these dudes @ Sugarloaf Ski Resort, Carrabassett Valley, Maine in late winter in "92 or '93 - what a blast - I don't think we sat down for one song.

@stihlthebest Well, Dubya did invite them to play at the White House, and the band does come from Texas. Nobody can be all bad, after all.

@justinbrownism Actually, very few of them come from Texas. Ray comes from Philly as do many of the other band members over the years, including founding member Lucky Oceans (who used to be Reuben Gosfield.) Ray Benson's birth name was Ray Benson Seifert. Not exactly true country origins. It was Willie Nelson who suggested they move to Austin.
