  • bleeding heart save your wallet message, douche.

  • I am also a trainer here in Raleigh, NC and my clients LOVE doing TRX. I can CRUSH them with an awesome, high intensity full body workout and though it looks easy, they are sweating and moaning. It's a love/hate relationship. People that say TRX ISN'T effective clearly have never used them, don't use them properly, or simply have no clue what they're talking about.

  • Is anyone here a certified trainer? Cuz I am and the trx when used right is the most effective piece of equipment out there for functional / sports specific training. This video lacked dozens and dozens of exercises available for all skills levels. But the general idea is there

  • @TheBanderson22 I am and me too. I even work with Seniors with it. you can make this thing do anything and suit anyone. I teach pilates, which makes this the perfect piece of equipment for my clients. each of the pilates core principles applied to TRX takes each to the next level.

  • Τον ακούραστο έχει?Και μόνο που τον βλέπω ίδρωσα :p

  • Why do you need a TRX. Can perform depth pushups on a parallel bar or rings & with a weighted vest.

Dont need to hold anything to perform pistons. Any of the exercises that are actually useful can be performed with rings.

The remainder are just waste of time bull shit - sales man trying to sell their waste of time piece of equipment.

  • @AliasDayne I tried TRX, it's amazing for your stabilization muscles. It's not 'essential' but if your gym has it, use it!

  • @AliasDayne it requires much more stabilization and synergistic muscles than conventional training, because momentum is making your body move under suspension. I used to only be concerned about strength and power, but after getting into tricking, (extreme dancing like flips/ bboying), i have come to appreciate the athleticism involved in control and stability

  • @mofogie How does it require anymore stabilization than gymnastic rings (for rows, pullups, muscle ups, pushups and various ring holds), pullup bars and unassisted body weight exercises. Taking unassisted body weight exercises for example and comparing it to what you have in this video... Whats more athletic - 1 leg squat and a HSPU without a TRX or one with one. If you need assistance with a 1 leg squat u just put ur finger on the wall.. not set up a 'TRX System'.

  • @AliasDayne rings are indeed alot like the cables. but who has rings? (i'm thinking of gymnastics suspension rings). I'm not a salesmen or anyhting, i dont own TRX, theyre just at my gym. They are superior in stabilization training than the parallel bar, or single leg squat, or airex pad, etc, because the cables augment the momentum generated from imperfect form. It's kinda like, you throwing a ball with your arm, vs you using a sling to throw your ball.

  • @mofogie rings and ring classes have become very popular here in the NYC area. Power Systems sells them.

  • @AliasDayne what you're saying is true about some things, but not TRX. I"ve been traiing clients with it since 2008. everyone loves/hates it because it makes you use so many muscles at once to stabalize. things that look easy make you cry. :o) but everything isn't for everyone. rings have become popular here in NYC, but I'm told they are hard on the hands.

  • @Kherudjhuti I dont disagree about the stabilization required when using the TRX for a pushup for example. Im saying 2/3 of the exercises in this video are largely unnecessary. Whereas the 1/3 that are useful can still be performed on gym rings (for the same stabilization effects) and then you get all the other gym ring uses too.

But fair enough if rings hurts your hands, go for the TRX option.

  • this is nuts

  • TRX stuff is cool, but I hate it when idiots call its functions. It's more feeble-minded people to pay certified ass. I was told how TRX is functional!

  • Nice TRX video! You gave me some good ideas on how to "mix it up" with some of my favorite TRX movements.

  • There should be a disclaimer here that a gladiator wall is not included in a normal TRX Package. Other than that nice vid.

  • most of you are missing the point of the video, he is showing you variations on how to work the trx bands. not a routine to follow, you think buddy's that jacked from those ropes?? ha, shows how much you workout

  • only the decline pushup is dangerous, besides that if you are not strong enough to do the workouts don't do them pussy. stick to your bulletin board workouts, leave it to the big boys

  • TRX stuff is pretty cool, but I hate it when morons call it functional. It's even more moronic that people are paying out the ass for certifications. Someone tell me how the TRX is functional!

  • i wanna try this coz i already saw this TRX HANGING in the gym and i wanna try this..Coz i didnt see anyone in the gym who use it.sO its good that i found this video ..ty

  • check out the new app iSuspension for great workouts with TRX

  • What is TRX anyway, dumb shit!

  • This is just a marketing scheme. I see not real need for doing these types of exercises.

  • in my opinion functional exercises are not so functional. When in sports do you move like this? I don't see the benefit and it doesn't train the core so much. I think it's a gimmick designed to sell ''functional'' equipment. Simple basic exercises will do wonders. No need to get fancy. But hey if you guys think it's fun do it then.

  • I think the exercises need to be more balanced. Way too chest heavy. Most clients sit in chairs all day all hunched over. The last thing they need to do is tighten their pecs even more by doing a bunch of pushing exercises. They typically need at least a 2-1 ratio of pulling (rows, etc) to pushing. The legs seem to be neglected too. And how about some lateral movements?? And, yes, if someone doesn't have strong wrists, the kettle bell stuff is probably asking for trouble.

  • what was that at 1:28??

  • whats name of song its AC DC?

  • @dafs132 rock'n'roll train

  • PIĆKO!!!!

  • if u wanna fast results, try CROSSFIT

  • @TheManiacjo if you want injuries and poor quality, high volume movements try crossfit

  • putting all the weight on the knee joints haha this is not very clever it seems

  • What is the rack in the background? metal or wood? :) Any suggestions on places where I could use the TRX from? I have a studio at home. Thanks.

  • fuckaroundtitis anyone??

  • i do pretty much all the ones that don't involve defying gravity and theyve worked out pretty well

  • Some of those exercises look pretty good. Some of them look totally retarded!

  • @ClinchFighter911 Hey bro i noticed your comment and was pretty taken aback. I live in Tarzana and was going to join the Crossfit gym near my house to help with conditioning and weight loss for my boxing training. Out of curiosity, what makes the workouts so unsafe, and do you perhaps know of another gym that could help me with my problems? Thanks for your time

  • OMG this guy can't be a personal trainer. he really doesn't know how dangerous this exercises could be! this video shows ALL that you MUSTN'T do with a TRX.

  • This is a joke right? This guy is a complete tool and if anyone attempts these exercises you are running the riswk of severe injury. this guy has no business showing anyone how to use this equipment! I hope the term 'coach' is for his love of womens purses rather than for its literal meaning that he is spreading his stupidity to our children.

  • @drstevept well if done right like he did it .... you shouldn't get hurt . TRX runs the risk of injury no matter what.

  • @drstevept Some of the exercises sure seem stupid, some don't really require the device and yet some are certainly challenging. But common sense should always prevail and one has to work within their capabilities.Your statement is just as relevant as the content of the video .... anything can be dangerous without proper instructions, knowledge and training. What's your point dude and stop your bleeding heart safe the children message.

  • I can make my own trx out of rope and other crap and not have to pay close to 200 for this piece of shit equipment... like what the fuck? 200 for a piece of rope?

  • sorry something about this video wont let me stop to laugh

  • at 1:58 I couldn't help myself I had to laugh lol

  • I made my own TRX and saved a hell of money lol

    sorry fuckers

  • I get freaked you're going to slip on the kettlebells.

  • I got my TRX @ ellepro dotcom, great!

  • Great post dude, full respect.

  • I was so hoping he would do a face plant at 2:30. He deserve that for showing this dangerous exercises.

  • the exercice at 2 30 is silly unsafe and should not be advertised for the general public to try - almost certain injury

  • How many of these exercises can you actually do with your deconditioned client. come on now ya dumb ass.

  • FUCKING STUPID IDIOT

  • Strong progression there relying on bodyweight exercises.

  • you did like 15 chest exercises, all bench press style

  • weak, i made up a way better trx workout

  • Хороший комплекс!! Тренер молодец!

  • this is best way i think it really works the body then to be trying work on abs on the floor you really can feel the muscles when u do this i go to a class that you do this for half in hour to an hour sessions its really fun

  • You might want to check your form before posting up videos. Neck, back, legs. All bad.

  • Lift weights, ride a bike, walk, run. No so complicated.

I see a lot of new fangled crap being dished out by trainers at the gym. Circuit training. Horse shit. Stupid ropes. Holly cow. People doing sets of 30+ on stuff. Never gaining any size. A little strength and endurance maybe. Lighter pocket book. Don't get me started on the elliptical garbage. Stair master. Jeeze.

  • @milominder You have no idea what you're talking about do you? Go get an education before talking about anything fitness. milominder=FAIL

  • @WayneTPH U said it! What a douche! I am a certified personal trainer and can attest to the fact that eliptical, stair master and circuit training work wonders for a person. Usually I hear comments like his come ofrom guys who just want to put on size. But to the contrary, most of my clients want just to lose some weight and tone up. So incorporating new and different types of workouts other than the "pick things up and put them down" routines are just what they need!

  • 200 bucks for a piece of rope

  • I agree. I own one and enjoy the few benefits it provides, but definitely not worth the price tag.

  • @jasonbrann lots of safety features and it gets better with each version. got mine in 2008 and work with the 2011 version at work. said to support up to 1200 lbs. it really is quite creative. wish I'd thought of it! :o) $200 straps, metal and foam...better than some $5000 machines I've worked on.

  • @jasonbrann LOL !! get a piece of rope and two rubber bands for 10 dollars !

  • Jesus Christ, what a shit!

  • EAR RAPE

  • this guy's gay...learn to focus a camera

  • This "trainer" is ridiculous. If he trains his cleints this way, he is asking for a law suit.

  • I have to laugh at anyone who calls this a gimmick. I have been to the gym 5 days a week 2 hours a day since January 1 2011 with my wife and best friend. I thought I was in shape until I took my first TRX class yesterday for 45 minutes. I got my ass kicked. I can barely move and it was the best workout I have ever gotten. We did full body training and I was dripping in sweat in 5 minutes. I am 25 years old, 5'10" and 162 lbs with barely any body fat. TRX will make you its' bitch.

  • @stobbemusic

I can confirm this. I bike, lift weights, and use elliptical motion machines. TRX was far more intense.

  • re: Personal Trainers "looking the part" -- a person may be very good at training his or her own body to make it look a certain way, but this result may not be optimal for the client. A good trainer is one who focuses of perfect form and who tailors the workout to the client's needs. The workout should achieve strengthening, flexibility, mobility and good posture. It should never result in sports injuries.

  • more ideas here if you like?.. youtube.com/user/BigMikePT?feature=mhum

  • Half of these are dangerous and STUPID! there are much better and SAFER ways to get a great TRX workout.

  • @MyMantenna OUCH!

  • @MyMantenna obviously, there are some that are more advanced. it's fun to push your body to do extreme exercises. Once you get comfortable with the easier/beginner then you can advance. THIS IS AWESOME!!!!!!

  • @MyMantenna these workouts are only as dangerous and stupid as the person doing them. I wouldn't recommended these for a beginner, these are advanced exercises.

  • @MyMantenna I don't see you posting any links.

  • Nice variety of TRX exercises shown. Will try some out.

  • TRX a good instrument to use if I dont own gymnastics rings? I crossfit and although I know it wont e the same....is it the best alternative in your opinion?

  • Personal Trainers are not sales people. They are Personal Trainers. I am one and I use TRX a lot in my own training also. Showing Clients how to train to maximum effect based on all the research for what they want to achieve and helping them form new habits, Doing assessments to see progress, Making exercise fun and effective, Encouraging them teaching them perfect technique and working muscles in balance, designing great programs and much more that's what a trainer does.

  • @Wrenchlar hmmm...really? PT's are not sales persons? Please speak for yourself. Don't speak for everyone. I'm a trainer, and I weren't a salesperson, I wouldn't survive.

  • holy mother of god

  • when you purchase this thing, they probably ask you " do you want a ladder with that?"

if you are a home user there is very little that you can do with that

  • @wolvie55 You do not need a ladder. At the gym I work out at, they have it attached to the pull-up bar. If you make your own then you can make it so that you can tie it to anything elevated, like tree limbs, kids swing sets, or the hanging beams in the garage if they're open. I've even seen a clip where the person had a small medal plate at the end and threw it over a door and closed the door to lock it in place. Really you're only limited by your own creativity with suspension trainers.

  • U look fishing-line

  • Thanks for the demo. Now, I can incorporate more different positions to my strength training.

  • Great Video, thanks!

  • The majority of the people commenting on this video clearly have no real experience in the fitness industry ! this is a good video its all about thinking outside the box ! good job m8

  • $15 tow straps, scrap PVC rings for handles and an attachment clip and all of a sudden you've revolutionized the health industry...long live the gimmicks

  • Not knowing this video, I have started to do THIS exercise 2:02 . I have a door pullup bar on which I mount some Ironmind daisy loops with horseriding stirrups tied to them. I have a pair of 32 kg kb to complement this. I perform my dips pausing on the the floor with a conscious effort to pull my shoulders down as advised by Pavel for his "swat dips". This move feels awesome on my shoulder joints.

  • TRX will make anyone cry

  • what king of materrial is TRX?

  • Does anyone know what the wall unit he is using is called? I would like to purchase one for my home. Thanks!

  • Get yourself a universal strength apparatus, coach. Much better equipment.

  • Nice work Umberto. I like how you used the wall and all the levels to walk up and get some serious decline style chest presses.

I'd love to see you do that using "The Human Trainer" suspended system. Having a Dual Anchor System would be impressive to see.

I've got some videos on youtube such as "The Human Trainer 4 minute full body workout", but i didn't do too many Very Hard exercises. I'll have to do that soon.

    Keep up the good work.

  • This is good training! I use this

  • I get it, its a shit version of rings designed for house wives and skinny teenagers.

  • @snozzcumbers Uh, no, quite frankly it was designed by a former Navy Seal and is used quite extensively within the US Military. Mostly because it is very portable and can basically be attached to anything.

  • @TankNMofo Because Navy Seals know so much about physiology.

  • Just did my first session on Wednesday. TOTALLY awesome!

What this dude is doing here is off the charts!

I thought I was in pretty good physical condition, but got a pretty rude wake up call!

    Great stuff!

  • i hope the cable doesn't break and/or the blue ball doesn't burst!!! ouch!!!!!!!

  • VERY nice video coach. some great ideas! =-)

  • it is so easy to make your own TRX. I bought all the materials for 17 bucks

  • The idea behind suspension/cable training seems great for endurance/muscle definition/ and maybe to an extent strength training, however I dont think I would use it with clients who want to build muscle. Hypertrophy doesn't come from sustained muscle contraction but this could definitely be useful as part of a circuit to keep heart rate up.

Great idea but I guess it depends on what you're training as to whether it is the most useful tool.

  • it just seems so boring to me. i like to move around when i workout. i feel bored and burn out quick when i have to do all of my moves in one spot

  • It's just a tool for calisthenic exercises, will it build as much mass as resistence training, lifting heavy weights? No! But it will train core strength which no resistence exercises can't.

  • @pound4pound4 Ab crunch machine? Back extension? Just a few that come to mind....I agree its probably a much better exercise due to the instability component of it though :D

  • @chaucy9 Well they train the major muscles which you can use to flex your nuts but not the small muscles which you can back it up with in a fight.

  • @pound4pound4 ? Like using your abs to absorb a body shot? I'm not too sure what you mean haha.....at any rate I just bought a TRX, and can't wait to use it for some killer ab workouts for clients! Machines can only go so far!

  • @chaucy9 My point being calisthenics is better than resistance training when it comes to core strength workouts.

  • @pound4pound4 I hear that all the time, core core core... Do you know what the core muscles do while squatting, rowing and deadlifting (just to name a few) with heavy weights??? You should think about it!

  • Great work, l enjoyed watching, now I'm definitely going to get one! Thanks for sharing..

  • OMG!!!!!!!!! congratulations mr Miletto!!!!

(my cousin of 4 years said: "i will be like that when i will be adult!!!!")

  • this guy is a badass> id like to see u do his routine with him b4 u judge the vid. props on the vid by the way.

  • if it gets easy on the compound moves like the squats, rows and pushing and u want more strength/size maybe try adding a weighted vest? ouch!

  • I have my one made a cost of 25 us dollars (it doesn't worth more) and i also upgraded it so more exercise can be done with it. But if want to correspond to the trends by real one. ;)

  • I think most people just get it wrong.

It's a functional training tool, just like a gym ball for example. It's an unstable platform that your body has to stabilize.

In every sports you have to build strength with irons. The usual way: hypertrophy -> strength -> power. And at the end of the period you combine it with functional training or if you lack stability u might start earlier.

in season you might only train functionally.

It totally depends on your training goals. whatever suits your boat.

  • alright first things first. do not judge a product until you've tried it.

#2 - strength CAN be built from functional and bodyweight training. look up type II muscle fibers.

#3 - i can almost guarantee half of the meatheads in your local gyms can't do half the exercise in the TRX manual for the recommended amount of reps or even more.

finally, it takes both free-weight and functional training to build proper aesthetics, lean mass, and strength. trust me, it took me 5 years to learn this

  • @roc575 I'm with you there on #3. I took mine to my regular gym because a few people heard I had one, so I said I'd bring it in for anyone to try. The meatheads could barely do 1/2 the reps I could. I've only had one for 3 months and its a great product. Cancelled that gym membership by the way. Dont need it anymore.

  • Ma tu sei homosexuale oh no?

  • You guys got to try the Universal Strength Apparatus, it's better than TRX.

  • @re1lee2 thank you so much for this post. now i can decide which suspension equipment i want, TRX or USA. and now I am definitely leaning towards USA because of the fact you can go up and down on the rungs. for example, rows, ill do 5 then go up and do another 5, go up do another 5, then go back down one rung do 5 again, etc.

as long as the USA is on par with the quality of the materials used on TRX, I'll be satisfied. can't wait to get this started.

  • Reminds me of when I go to the gym; ALWAYS AC/DC playing there lol

  • Great video I use to the TRX everyday i go to the gym and this video definitely broadened its capabilities for me and my routines.

On the other topic of TRX and usefulness this is the perfect thing to finish off a workout with i'll do 5-8 sets with weights and finish off my day with 4-5 exercises on here so easy on my bones and my body its insane but I'm getting gains that i've never been able to achieve because i can push myself that much harder.

  • great

  • Great video!

  • If there's anything in life not improved by a little ACDC, I'm yet to learn what it is.

  • just basically some rope you can get at walmart

  • I tried the one at 1:30. and damn neer broke my face..

  • 50?

  • Really good ideas Coach!

  • I like the goon who said this was sissy training... what a dumbass. This was developed by a former navy seal so that he would be able to easily train anywhere

  • parabens pelo video!

  • y a esta estupidez se le llama functional training? dejen de robar poniendole nombres nuevos a los entrenamientos.. no soporto el robo ya!

  • If you think the TRX is too expensive you can buy the Jungle Gym for 50 dollars and you can do all the same exercises. The trx definetly builds strength because you can do Exercises like the iron cross if you hang the trx from a bar or dips while your suspended from them. Those exercises are extremely difficult. Or you can do inverted pushups with feet on stability ball.

  • Awesome my friend. Great ideas here :)

  • dumb dumb dumb dumb exercises , and this is not functional training , this is SISSY training !

  • @asalman54 Of course, you're going to post a video showing "real" functional training, right? Until I see it, I don't believe you could do any of the exercises yourself. Just another internet tough guy who can't back it up.

"dumb, dumb, dumb" fits your comment, not the training in this video.

  • also great for stability which used as part of a strength trainers routine would help them have stronger fixators giving the person more efficient movements through improving the links in the chain and less chance of injury to areas such as the shoulder and back when lifting large loads. Also the nerves would get better at telling the muscles what to do.Sprinting intervals r also great for strength to help develop the c p system.Free weights are great variety is key.many people many goals

  • Entropy137 since when has strength been the only goal for fitness? i was referring to the comment that said body weight exercise is a fad with my previous comment. If you can do 100 press ups then of course your going to get more strength gains doing bench press. I didnt dispute that but the trx is great for many reasons such as replicating sports specific movements cardio and endurance and strength if you cant do many reps on the exercises

  • You devised these exercises or were they taught in the TRX manual? (Note: I dunno squat about TRX).

  • 2:00 thats how you give a real blow job

  • had to sign in when i read that bodyweight exercises are a fad. Wow there are some idiots on this site bodyweight exercises have been around since the dawn of man so how can they be a fad? Is this better than free weights? obviously it depends what you want to achieve. I love versatile equipment the trx and free weights are both very versatile.

  • @Wrenchlar With bodyweight exercises, you're limited to how much you actually weight. Pull ups may always be challenging to a 200lbs+ guy, but not push ups or rows. The trx may be great for beginners, but if strength gains are your goal then free weights is the ONLY solution.

  • TRX is an overhyped fad that will be gone soon..

  • @EdBlackmail Absolutely incorrect. It cones from the gymnastics rings concept...they have been around for decades. No fad. Any device that simply takes advantage of body weight and gravity will work, IF done correctly.

  • @rafalweb Only one problem, this isn't the gymnastics rings which would allow you to hold some extremely difficult positions. This thing can't serve as an adequate strength workout to someone who weighs less than 400 pounds.

  • @EdBlackmail yes, bodyweight exercises are a overhyped fad, moron

  • Love the pistols on the TRX. They are hard!

  • Great routine and technnique.

  • The single leg squat is a KILLER man!!!

It does work wonders for me!!!!

  • @dragns

The TRX is a super-effective tool, IMHO, except for one small thing...the silly price. I use the Jungle Gym, lots cheaper, same results. If I wanted to spend 150 bucks on a TRX I would. It seems very well made. Other than that, awesome workout tool.

  • @rafalweb you would get better results from free weights..much better results

  • @dragns here here

  • @dragns i'm definitely buying that thing. but if its expensive i'm sure creating something similar isnt hard to do.

  • @youknow45678- I'm with you as far as personal trainers looking the part. They are basically salesmen and if they don't use the product they are selling, why should I?

  • @damanian3

I'm a personal trainer and I've never used the TRX. Doesn't mean it's bad, in fact it looks fun and useful. It's just the gym I workout in doesn't have one.

  • @damanian3 You've a point so far as that if a guy is big, we don't know how they got that way, not having watched them all their life, so we don't necessarily know if what someone markets is what got them that way.

On the other hand, if someone is small, we know nothing got them big, and if what they're selling can get you big, why hasn't it got them big?

So basically, size is what gets your attention and then we use our wit to make sense of what's sold to see if it makes sense for it.

  • @tyciol My comment wasn't about size as much as it was about just being" fit ". I was just agreeing with another comment about personal trainers not looking like they heed their own advice. I think it would be hard to take direction from a person who's butt looks like a golf ball, and stomach, like a woman in her 3rd tri-mester..

  • Great ideas for TRX exercises, thanks! Will throw some of these in my next workout!

  • I guarantee, unless you have used a TRX, you have no idea how challenging it can be. This guy makes it look easy, but the versatility of it is that it can be infinitely challenging. In the gym I train at, I can take the biggest and what would appear strongest guys in the gym and have them decimated in less than 4 minutes with a TRX circuit.

  • Typical huge gym guys are posers... Fu*ing hilarious when some of them tried to use gymnastics rings, TRX, Kettlebells, or sandbag what me and my clients are using. Those muscles are useless in the real world, bodybuilding is only for flexing at the beac
