@NoTeaBaggers Bryan Ferry had a lot of guts. I know most people think Eno was the creative force behind this band but remember it was Ferry who wrote, sang and created the style..Eno did a great job treating the instruments. For Ladytron I read Ferry asked him for an outer space sound and he delivered. But always remember and I know you do it was Bryan Ferry who set the table for the punks.Influencing the new wavers and the new romantics including Bowie in the early 80's
How I missed this one I'll never know - great version - clearly early on (Eno present but most certainly not shown enough) - but I love it nonetheless. They really "jam" it for a minute or two.
God the USA really missed out on glam rock in the early 70s and the greatness of Roxy Music big time back then! I mean you're gonna ONLY listen to Led Zep all the time, THE WHOLE time?? Or God forbid, pick ELP and Yes over this???
@jrmetmoi THANK YOU! FUCKING THANK YOU! EVERY OTHER SONG ON CLASSIC ROCK RADIO IS BLACK DOG OR kASHMERE AND I CAN'T EVEN GET A SINGLE LOVE IS THE DRUG ONCE IN A WHILE! IT'S EITHER ZEPPELIN OR STEVE FUCKING MILLER
La pagina più "cool" del glam rock, diventato finalmente genere con un certo spessore culturale che ovviamente non pretende di dare soluzioni definitive ai problemi del Terzo Mondo ma restituisce l'anima meno pretestuosa del rock and roll.A me questi Roxy piacciono...Do the Strand!!!!
If you resisted this (and I was 10 then) you were wrong. To resist it now is just sad.
Only musicians and rock critics bring up this band. They predated the "New Wave" before Bowie did in terms of pop. Kraftwerk literally predicted the future of music but they also started the anti-persona thing.
I still remember being in a pub with friends with their mothers, and these 40 year-old ladies squealed when they heard Ferry sing. But I knew then that Roxy Music was transcendant.
Each and every one of them ..... so talented. I would pay half a year's wages to see them play like this again. Do the Strandsky!

Brian's run to the keyboard at 1:20 is priceless.

@MOTOPAC Yes, it is! And somehow he gets the words right in there, nothing like these lip syncing rip offs of today. This was the pure stuff.

It's good but whoever edited it obviously didn't care much for Brian Eno, which is too bad

For Your Pleasure is, to my mind, Roxy Music's greatest hour. Who writes lyrics like this? Ferry's a genius.
