I just plugged the bass into a Korg Pandora practice amp/drum machine and plugged that into the mic input on an iMac.

That tone is perfect. How do you adjust your eq on the bass and the amp to achieve that classic punchy Marcus Miller tone?

The bass is going through a Korg Pandora headphone practice amp with built in drum machine, then into the computer. I didn't use an amp. The eq was almost flat with the lows being boosted only a bit on the bass and about the same on the little Pandora device. The preamp in the Marcus model j-bass has pretty nice tone on its own.
