I guess this helps explain why car designers do some of the stupid stuff they do--like 3D head- and tail-light lenses; to appeal to geeks like this. (I haven't looked at this car's lenses closeup, but I find many of today's lens too busy.) While the new GTI spoilers aren't overdone, this guy doesn't seem to understand the idea behind the GTI. Its understated appearance should belie its performance. It's supposed to be at least a little cute.

You probably clicked the Stage III ECU chip on their site which will display these kind of numbers. To get that much power, you have to buy all of the required equipment as well such as catback exhaust, intercooler, carbonio intake, etc.

I purchased the GTI MKVI Carbon Gray 4dr w/ leather, moonroof, DSG, no Nav three weeks ago with an out of door price of $31300 (w/ document, tax, plate transfer, destination, etc) with 60 mos 0% Chicago Auto Show special. Please note, the hold back is just over $850. $300 under invoice is not a problem for most dealers. You might even do better than me. I hope this info is useful. i ran out of room lol, it has also had a leaky sunroof and the radio turns down by itself, changes songs on cds before they r done and the radio also mutes itself occasionally, iv made sure that it wasnt me doin it on the steering wheel, has anyone else had this many problems with their gti? if i didnt live 2 hours from the dealer it wouldnt be that big of a deal but it is cuz it turns into a whole day adventure, i sold my mazda6 to get this and i went from the best car iv had to the worst

Then I moved to the US and bought a 2001 jetta. And apart of the wrong maintenance of the previous owner, the car runs well. My experience is pretty good.

Good luck with every thing and if not, then there's an easy solution. Get a different car...trade it.

A friend of mine has a Jetta 2008 and so far it is been nothing but trouble for him!

First he had starter (motor) problems! After that his sunroof stopped working.

One other think is that hey are made in Mexico... that should be enough to understand the poor built quality!

Honda, Toyota, Nissan even some Hyundai are put together better and you pay from 2000$ to 4000$ less for those cars!
