@tombstone2me so little to occupy oneself with that you decide to criticise an ideal and belief of millions of people around the world. nice one mate.
Prince Philip:Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign : Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Im-man´u-el, God with us (Isaiah 7:14 Your Bible) And she shall bring forth a son, and you shalt call his name JESUS (Saviour): for he shall save his people from their sins (Matthew 1:21) For to you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord (Luke 2:10,11) Believe in Jesus Christ and be saved you (Acts 16:31)
this guy's father was the prince of greece and denmark and his mom is Olga Konstantinova of Russia...why is he the fucking prince of UK?? or duke of edinburgh!!? is it because he is the husband of the queen?!!!!
Because the British throne favours women as the Crown. Also because he wasn't 1st in the line of succession. It's really not a hard concept to grasp, mind you are a septic.
@TheRenaissance83 YES. Just a correction though, his mother was Princess Alice of Battenberg, a great-granddaughter of Queen Victoria. Olga Konstantinova is his grandmother on his father's side.
Were all human its just hes got more money then most of us, even taxpayers money, you have got to admire how the Royals know how to leech off the state.
The Prince was baptised at St. George's Church at the Palaio Frourio in Haddokkos a few days after his birth as a Christian Orthodox. His godparents were his paternal grandmother (Queen Olga of Greece) and the Corfu community, represented by Alexander Kokotos, Mayor of Corfu, and Stylianos Maniarizis, Chairman of the Corfu City Council.
look, he was born in greece, and then emigrated over here. also, he's the queens second cousin, sharing queen victoria as their great-grandmother, so he is also descended from harold godwinson. but who's to say that harold godwinson is far back enough to consider yourself english, for all we know he could have had italian blood from the romans. Even then, we're all descended from a few hundred people in ethiopia. (unless you're nick griffin, descended from a white monkey in buckinghamshire!)
If protecting a species does not have public support, you must switch to making the public scared over their longevity and health, while attaching this feeling to something related to the species. Be it preserving their habitat so medical research can be performed safely, or somehow preserving the target species food source. It's unfortunate manipulation like this is necessary, but many people tend to value certain things incorrectly.
You scare them with a threat to their personal safety and longevity if the species does not have a cuddly appeal. If you can't find agreement with protecting a certain species, you focus on its habitat, food source, etc and tie it into the average person's life. If parts of it's habitat could be used for medical research and a serious effort was put forth to preserve the space, you will have a change in public opinion.
Philip was born at the Villa Mon Repos on the island of Corfu on 10 June 1921, the first son and fifth and final child of Prince Andrew of Greece and Denmark and Princess Alice of Battenberg.[2] Baptised at St. George's Church at the Palaio Frourio (Old Fortress) in Haddokkos a few days after his birth.
Actually a most succinct explanation of the disaster facing us. Extremely well expressed.

He's a greek, not German! I hate it when people cuss the Royal Family for being Germans! They're not!!
That's like saying, All American's are really just Irish, Scottish, Welsh and English...
It's like WAY back in the family. Jeesh. Her Maj is English. Dukey is Greek. Face it people! They are our Royal family.
Respect them!
royaloctopus 2 years ago
To true, I say to all the people who want to play the 'I think the royal family is German game' ought to do and know two things.
1. Check their own geneology.
2. HM the Queen can trace her line all the way back to Harold Godwinson. Who was as one might say "pure English"

There is not a drop of Greek blood in him !
AlexanderdeMedici 2 years ago
his coat of arms is of the greek insignia, and his bloodline is actually mixtures of russian, german and greek.
macky111222 2 years ago
Through his paternal grandmother Queen Olga of the Hellenes, born a Grand Duchess of Russia, he can trace his line back to the bizatine Emperors.
MrPeterMichael 2 years ago
@AlexanderdeMedici True, but he has plenty of English blood in him.

Royaloctopus, in fact most Americans are of German heritage, not British.

Royal we should be proud of our German cultural heritage, like the royals clearly are.
The German royal history is spectacular, lets forgot the wartime propaganda.
The duke of Edinburgh is brilliant.
bastardtubeuser 2 years ago
well, they are partly german. queen victoria was of german descent. but, the queen is half scottish also.

Environmental thinking is high on the list of priorities for the royal family - even back in the 1980s. Good on them.
