my guess is that both fighters are known for great kicks and hands so they let it go instead of concentrating on the clinch like they usually do.

How come the referee separated the fighters almost instantly every time the began to clinch?

I wondered the same! WHY??
@blixten1 yep new rules were introduced in 2008 at Lumpinee this rule was introduced in the hopes to discourage stalling by continuously clinching.
