  • "could any force on earth stop their supernatural fury?" yeah dude, chuck norris can ;)

  • Village of the damned

  • God.. Creepy children CAN really be creepy O_o

  • @norway1945 Yes, they can. And creepy little girls can be the creepiest of all---witness the work of Jodelle Micah Ferland (SILENT HILL, STEPHEN KING'S KINGDOM HOSPITAL, CASE 39, etc).

  • We know All Your Secrets,

The Simpsons Parody still cracks me up...

  • david was the father of the big bang theories sheldon,,,michael caine said they always remake classic movies that people love,,, but why don't they improve on movies that actually could be improved like they did to the original dirty rotten scounrels

  • Much creepier than the 1995 John Carpenter version. Sometimes it seems pointless when they remake a film when they can't improve on it. . .

  • @ticketyboooo : You're absolutely right. The original as in most cases are generally far better. I believe what ruined the remake most was it spewed politcal correctness.

  • You've been stealing puddings again

  • I love old horror movies. 'cause they`ve got a special atmosphere. But this one just sucks. It's unrealistic like no other.

  • @LongingForever Read the book THE MIDWICH CUCKOOS by John Wyndham. You will appreciate the story better. Mr. Wyndham also wrote THE DAY OF THE TRIFFIDS, incidentally (and, again I say: READ THE BOOK) and (my personal favorite of his novels) THE KRAKEN WAKES (US title OUT OF THE DEEPS).

  • Come on people....this movie is like 60 years old, cut it some slack, I actually found it quite interesting....and personally I think the children look alot 'freakier' in this movie then the remake. But god, they were stunning children, they must all be about 70 now....

  • @Sharkiiebabey Well, not quite. Martin Stephens (who played "David"---the lead creepy kid) is 63 now. He also played "Miles" in THE INNOCENTS the next year (1961) opposite Deborah Kerr (last name pronounced "Carr" for those who don't know). Interestingly, the actress who played his sister in that movie was Pamela Franklin (LEGEND OF HELL HOUSE, SATAN'S SCHOOL FOR GIRLS).

  • @Sharkiiebabey : I still find it very effective regardless of age. Much superior than the remake which was just inundated with political correctness.

  • I hope that's shepards pie in my knickers....

  • Maybe we should thank bbhoodmel for uploading this video and not be shitty to the fact that he recorded it off the television!

  • ...WW2 Communist propaganda... to hurt blond kids/teenagers

  • man your video sucks. now when i got your attention this video rules. gotta love some old horror. also im am kinda a rednack haggle

  • what's this film all about?

  • @VideoFilmGuyAtNight residets of an english village suddenly pass out for several hours. nine months later 12 children are born. however its clear they are inhuman with rapid growth, telepathy, strength, inteligence and mysterious eye power. as they become deadly, the government try and stop them once and for all

  • I loved the remake this one was a pile of shit

  • No doubt that the original is aesthetically so much better... The Village of the Damned 1960 (Eng.)

I loved it when i first saw it as a child in the late 60s and still love it today. You have to be a true fan of the early SciFi films to understand. I'm sure John Carpenter is a fan too, but there are some remakes that are better not made : ) TheLisbonGirl

  • @kookygirlx the only good scenes in the remake was the guy who passed out on the BBQ, and the lady who was forced to stick her arm in the pot of boiling vegetables. the original is much better, like a twilight zone episode.

  • eso no es terror!!

  • I myself personally preferred Children of the Damned by far, COTD came out three years after this movie and was a lot better than this movie by faar.

  • "Leave ...us...alone " .No problemo !

  • BEWARE THE STARE THAT THREATENS ALL MANKIND.....THE CAREBEAR STARE!!!

hahahaha sorry I couldn't help it.

and people need to stop complaining about you recording it off your tv.

  • One of my favourite horror movies!!!

  • I read that MGM shelved the idea because they felt that parthenogenesis was sinister. LOL- what do they think of the story of Jesus?

  • I bet the Delightful children from down the lane, arch-enemies of the kids next door were based on these kids in this movie right?

  • The narrator gives off the impression this is a prelude to a 1960s Batman episode...

  • The remake really sucked!

  • @Boeing94: That color remake by the awful beyond pulp director with that silly Scandinavian name...ooops forgotten.......

  • Our school are doing a play on this and I will be playing David so it was good to see how he acts :)

  • a week with the prests would sort those kids out

  • @Kerriangel Brilliant! ROFLMAO!!

  • @err0r : go elsewhere if you're not happy. to use the n00b term you're way too geeky dude!

I pute this video like....4 years ago lol for fun, didn't know there would have been that much views, it wasn't my intention.

I think there is a good quality of this video somewhere on youtube just find it.

  • @err0r But i am a clumsy redneck! ;-p

  • @bbhoodmel so am i. haven't figured out how to upload DVDs to you tube yet

  • @ReviewCam : lol thank you for the support! X-D

  • @bbhoodmel: Village Of The Damned (German title: "Das Dorf der Verdammten" - even more impressive....LOL) depicts today´s brats somehow....will they suffer the same fate ?

  • @ReviewCam have U figured out how to upload dvd's? i's not hard-

  • @bbhoodmel lol I guess that Pink Floyd wrote Another Brick In The Wall based on this movie.``Leave us alone!!!``

  • @bbhoodmel me too!! i js found out abt youtube today :p

wait.... is that over doing it jus a lil bit? :/

  • @err0r People Dont make videos to be judged. They make them to have fun! So dont comment and shit if your not happy. No ones perfect. No one is trying to please you! so shut the fuck up! and leave this kid alone. Because i can see your not perfect either. So go blow yourself, hippie!

  • @bbhoodmel what does "pute" and "wasn't" mean?

  • @bbhoodmel Only an inbred retard would enjoy watching a video of anything re-recorded off a TV. What a load of crap.

  • @err0r You fail.

  • If there's one thing I learned from this movie it's this:

Brick walls are the mind's best friend when a child gives you that evil stare. Probably would have saved alot of trouble in films like The Omen, The Exorcist, The Good Son, Orphan, any regular household etc.

  • ahh,classic B movies rule..........lol

  • What a chill went through my being when i saw the trailer for it's sequel in the early 60's .Really tapped into a variety of phobias.lol We tried our affected, "sniff" accent out on friends ,family , a stray dog just about all were told to "leave ...us ... alone..." :)

  • I love old Hollywood.

Even though this movie is very old, its very, very chilling.

  • @GeminiSarahAnne I agree, excellent film and hard to believe it's now 50 years old. You don't need loads of special effects to scare people, it's all about the atmosphere...

(btw it isn't hollywood it's a british film!)

  • @Gary190tube

Sorry I did not know it was not a Hollywood movie.

I agree about special effects, nothing can make up for a good story and good acting.

Yes it is quite amazing that this is about 50 years old. Great movie and very spooky.

  • This was really chilling, even though its very old.

  • i think i had see it

  • this is the JEWS power ;the kapo' of Planet Earth; for a NWO ! see about anunaki,Nibiru, Jews & Gold god, and NWO

  • @sordi4ever wat r u babling on about

  • They look like Aryans

  • this is a party political broadcast on behalf of the labour party!!!!!!!!

  • Wow, trailers used to be AWFUL :)

  • the simpsons paordy of it in "Wild Barts cant be broken" when the kids are under curfew is funny

  • When I was a boy and watched this on TV late at night so many yrs ago,,it scared the shit out of me...lol

  • @Clemburke1111

Me,too. This movie gave me nightmares for a while when I was little..

  • @Clemburke1111 Right there with you!!!! Those friggin glowing eyes!

  • Does anyone know where The Children are today? I heard Martin Stephens (David) is an architect. What about the others?

  • The Delightful Children From Down The Lane really represent these children.

  • after watching this film, i looked out my window and saw a little pale boy with white hair just walking around

omg! that made me shit my pants!

  • gayliens , cant grow beards. naturally gay aliens.

watch the movie super mario brothers the movie

    then watch anchorman

  • woulda been scarier if they all looked like mexican babies.

  • @rctrbo

    hahaha wtf

  • PS And it would pay back homo sapiens for what we did to the Neanderthals.

  • Thanks bbhoodmel for uploading this clip. It's certainly sparked off lots of debates! For my own part I think that if something like this really happened it might be better if The Children did take over the world. Has our species made such a good job running it? And I think that most of the birds and animals who share this planet with us would be glad to see the back of homo sapiens.

  • When they are toddlers they look like that little boy that played in Pet Semetary..My nephew took this movie to his daycare once and the teacher had to put it up.

  • The children could have easily been quelled if fed rich, buttermilk pancakes with maple syrup. Too late now I guess.

  • Thank you to post it

  • First of all John Carpenter never disappoints me (he made Halloween, The Thing, The Fog, Christine, Prince of Darkness, Memoirs of an Invisible Man, In the Mouth of Madness, Ghosts of Mars...) So, I knew this movie will be great in advance.

Village of the Damned proves that horror movie can be scary/intriguing without that bloody and brutal scenes - real horror masterpiece!!!

Christopher Reeve and Kirstie Alley were perfect!

  • John Capenter is awesome however he too has his bombs...the ghost of mars, prince of darkness and the pitiful remake of the classic "Village of the Damned".. it doesn't even come close to the original. True, your actors in it (remake) were good, but it was ridiculously politcally correct and lacked any intensity. Sorry...john bombed on this one all the way.

  • I didn't think the remake was bad, but I have to agree with you on Ghost of Mars (Prince of Darkness was underrated). G of M was mediocre, sadly.

The remake of The Thing, however, is a classic, although when it came out many people felt it was a gorefest.

  • Wytchfindw: I loved the remake of "The Thing" albeit superior in many ways to the original, the original still tops (IMHO). Heck, I guess I'd have to say I enjoyed them both for different reasons. Regarding "V.O.D.", for as good of an actor as he was, I just couldn't stomach Christopher Reeves character...he was so new age, couldn't hold a candle to George Sanders. Kirstie Alley was given more meat in her part than the lovely Barbara Shelly but Shelly had so much more presence and finesse .

  • Well, I do have to hand it to Sanders. I'll give you that. But I do think Reeves was good, although just like Mark Hamil he was haunted by the typecast dealie.

And yeah, I have to admit, Shelley was hot---Alley was decent in the role, but we ARE talking about Barbara Shelley back in the day!

  • i guess i saw it

  • those wigs are damn ugly.

  • They should have hired a sniper or nuked the village.

  • They nuked the village with same kids in Russia with an atomic Howitzer.

  • The Children would have sensed the sniper, and made him shoot himself, or another Earth-human. The Russians had the right solution. Unfortunately, they had no way of warning the villagers without alerting the Children, who would then prevent everyone from leaving. In the Soviet Union, the Individual existed to serve the State, but in Western Nations (NATO) the State exists to serve the Individual, hence the Russian solution could not happen, making the problem of the Children much worse.

  • Well, the Soviets were evil, but it's not correct to say that such a solution couldn't have been effected here. If the nation found itself in such a situation, a grave national emergency, a command decision could be made by the commander-in-chief (the president) and such a thing could be done if the survival of the nation were at stake. Martial law could be declared if necessary, and this would suspend the Constitution.

  • If they hired a sniper, the Children would easily read his thoughts and make him shoot himself. Then the Children would just go about taking retribution on the villagers. And more terrifying soon, little David states "Soon we'll have reached a stage where we can form NEW colonies". This week, Turner Classic movies showed this film right after Robert Wise's THE HAUNTING. 2 of the scaries movies ever made, from two of the scariest novels ever written in the English Language.

  • i saw it last night!it was great

  • I think I liked this version better then the remake

  • @CubicalGirl In the remake the kids look like a bunch of mini Jimmy Saviles.

  • good trailer seen it on trailersfromhell!

  • children of the damned

  • @825295 Children of the Damned the sequel film to this, is better than that bloody crap remake of this film . I would seriously hope that Children of theDamned is never remade, like this film foolishly and stupidly has been. The remake of this film, is a total waste of time and money in every way I can think of.I also prefer Children of the Damned as a film to this one any day. Have you ever seen Children of the Damned yourself and what is your, opinion on it please?

  • The remake was Children of the Corn right!?

  • Nope!

  • Ohh they must have got the idea from this film?

  • no it was from stephen king's novella.

  • this is waaay older then Stephen King, he saw it as a kid.

  • no i meant children of the corn was based on his short story.

  • Ohhh ok makes sense.

  • No Children of the Corn is a short story by Stephen King

  • I prefer this version. It's more authentic. More English.

  • the 1995 remake is perfect

  • This movie gave me nightmares when I was a kid. lol

  • the 1995 version is really, really good.

  • A daydream of mine...I am a teacher at The Grange where these children live. One day, escorting them on a country walk we see a fox hunt going on, with the hounds nearly upon the fox. I turn and look pleadingly at the Children. A few moments later the hounds and horses abruptly stop, with the riders left helpless. The fox escapes. I turn to the Children and say 'Thank you.'

  • And you are clearly a person who thinks that tormenting and killing animals for fun is perfectly okay, in other words a sadist. I feel pity for you.

  • no i believe if u dont killl it and eat it its wrong but i still think ur a fucking faggot

  • Didn't a company produce a later version to this....i think i watched it a few years ago, was truly a great Prequal. Although i haven't watched the Original.

  • they made a remake of the movie in 1995

  • and it sucked ass. no disrespect meant to Christopher Reeve.

  • Our current crop of children are dense.

  • The best movie of year 1995

  • Don't watch this move late at night, before you go to bed. You will have bad dreams, in stark black and white!

Film shows what could happen when we are confronted with our evolutionary successors. Terrifying! The last such event happened 150,000 years ago, when Cor-Magnon man replaced the Neanderthal man,as the dominant species of life on this particular Earth. Our science knows now of 300-worlds,Some LIKE EARTH. Ther is a hierarchy in the universe, HOMO SAPIENS is no where near the top.

  • movie is great n scaryyyyyyyyyyy

  • is the story line of this film ment to be based on a true event or legend?

  • I scared.

  • This is a cool movie.

  • When I watched this film I wished that I had the powers that the Children had. But when I think about it more I realise that I couldn't really trust myself with such powers. Can anyone say different?

  • Why you couldn't really trust yourself with such powers?

  • Because I am not a strong person, either physically or psychologically. There have been times in my life when I have been under very great pressure from other people and have felt helpless. So, if I had the powers of the Children I would almost certainly have killed those people. And, the more that you kill the easier that it becomes to kill. I believe that this is true of all of us.

  • "Power corrupts;absolute power corrupts absolutetly". That is why the title of the film was changed from THE MIDWICH CUCKOOS, to HELL VILLAGE, and finally, THE VILLAGE OF THE DAMNED. Charles Fort wrote a book on such weird-happenings, called THE BOOK OF THE DAMNED.

  • Well, while your later comment was indicative of a poor philosophical foundation, I do respect the humility you display here.

  • This is a great film. The remake doesn't compare in my opinion.

  • I liked this movie. But I didn't know there was a remake ...

  • Yes. There's a 90s version that had modernized special effects of course, but I remember being disappointed when I saw it. The original was creepy and cool. The 90s version was just sort of ok I guess and kind of stupid in certain parts. At least that's what I remember thinking when I saw it. You should check it out anyway.

  • OK. Thanks for the info.

  • My parents wouldn't let me see it because it would scare the s%@* out of me. When I saw it as an adult it still scared the s*&% out of me!

    :)

  • I was six years old when I saw this trailer in about 1960 and it scared the heck out of me. There were nights I could not get to sleep because of this movie trailer.

  • @bigsamdog1 That is quite incredible, just to think that, the movie's that we are afraid of today, how are they going to be made scarier? xx

  • Excellent film this. It was made in Letchmore Heath in Herts. I've been to that pub as they also used it a couple of times in The Professionals. Has this trailer come from the DVD?

  • I saw this when it first came out and it creeped me out then and still does now. Really well made and should be more widely available. Wyndham's book is good too. Thanks v. much for posting.

  • A superb film of a very great novel, one of my favourite ever books. Reading it and watching this made me wonder if it would be better for our planet if it WERE to be taken over by such children. Might not their civilisation be far more enlightened than our own? Or am I being too pessimistic about my own species?

  • By that logic, all beings in space were made by god, wether they resemble Earth-humans physically or not.

  • Yes, that's absolutely correct. Assuming other beings exist, they would have been created by God as well.

  • What's more, we read in the Book of Revelations, that: the Son of man will have the appearance of these children.

There is a vid on You Tube that features an "Albino Nordic Annunaki Alien" I don't have a feeling of apprehension about that person anymore than I do about the Son of man described in Revelation. In fact, these Lighted Ones from the stars I WELCOME! with hospitality.

These Space Brothers are BENEFACTORS! who will bring healing and understanding to the denizens of Earth.

  • I will give you some helpful advice. Forget the personal interpretation of Bible (which was never meant for everyone's hands, anyway) and join the true church, the Catholic Church. You will enjoy graces that you cannot even imagine.

    God bless,

    OW

  • Not a chance! I hope that the Vatican is nuked and the Pope is incinerated to ashes!

I will GODDAMN! read the Bible if I FUCKING! want to and interpret it for myself. I don't need no pedophile fag priest to interpret the Bible for me, you Friday fisheater!!!

  • Well, you see, what is your "Christianity" worth? What witness are you providing for others here? When you use profanity like that you don't seem very enlightened or spiritual at all, and you make Christianity look BAD.

As someone who cares about the faith, its reputation matters to me. Does it matter to you? You ought to get down on your knees and beg Jesus for forgiveness for tarnishing His reputation. God bless

  • It's also ironic that you would use the word ***d*mn. You are very far from God, my friend. You are making Satan happy, though.

  • Whoever said I'm a "christian"? Look, statue worshipper: I don't believe in that slut Mary as a "god". Or, for that matter, that Sith Lord of a Pope.

If I read the Bible, I read it for MYSELF! I sure am glad for the Protestants that made it possible for us to have the Bible to read for ourselves. So, like others have said so eloquently about keeping your rosaries off women's ovaries, I say keep your incense off my Bible!!!!!

  • Well, that's a bit better. At least now people won't be quite as likely to say, "Why should we follow Christ or read the Bible. Those 'believers' are as vulgar as anyone else." However, if you want to seem educated, you might want to try to understand what you criticize. Catholics don't view Mary as a god nor do they worship her; they simply understand that, as the mother of Christ, she has a special place. And, actually, the printing press made it possible for you to have a Bible for yourself.

  • The printing press and Martin Luther who (HOORAY!!!) stood up to the Catholic cult and translated the Bible so wveryone may read it!!

I am a believer in God and the Bible. I don't need slutty Mary or "saints" or "angels" or totem statutes or any Catholic abracadabra hocus-pocus rosary or liturgy or lucky charms (like beads and crucifixes) or a pedophile fag priest giving me the bird.

So, say "hi" to Satan for me, altar boy.

  • Buddy, if you think you're going to upset me, you're wrong. You're obvious very immature, someone who has a long way to go in his spiritual journey (although we're all works in progress). However, you also may want to rethink your impugning of Mary. Do you really think it's right to demonize her because you dislike Catholics? Remember, she is Jesus' mother; she loved Him, cradled Him and suckled Him. And He loved her. What do you think He would say about your criticism of His mother?

  • Like a kneeling, muttering Catholics are so far along on a spiritual journey. Who gives a SHIT! what I say about that cock-sucking, ass-rimming whore of a slut Mary. I love to use Mary statues for target practice in my sharp shooting and Mary paintings for target practice in my archery.

    Our Lady is a TRAMP!

  • All right, buddy, God bless. I hope you one day find the Truth.

  • I have found the truth. THE BIBLE! LOGIC AND REASON!! Not voodoo mumbo-jumbo like Catholicism.

  • I almost forgot to ask. Does the Pope strap a dildo on a Mary statue and, then, ram it up his ass, so: Mary can be the top butch and HE the bottom bitch to Our Lady Dominatrix? The Church has practically imposed Mary in this manner on everyone since day one.

  • Comment removed

  • Why would I listen to a Sith Lord of a Pope or pedophile fag priest when I have eyes to see and I can read the Bible for myself?

I say; FUCK UP THE ASS THE POPE! FUCK UP THE ASS THE COLLEGE OF CARDINALS, BISHOPS, PRIESTS, AND DEACONS OF THE CATHOLIC CULT!!!!

The Catholic cult is nothing but primitive, superstition religion.

  • All the Bible says is that a person needs to be born-again. That does not involve homage to that bitch Mary or so-called "saints" or "angels" or any of the totem statues you idolaters kneel in front of anymore than to grovel before a cookie you call "god".

Just think: you eat your god and and you poop your god out! Mmmm???

  • She was nothing more than 14 year old rape victim. And if God is our Father, than he raped his own daughter.

You worship the spawn of incest-rape.

  • Oh, I almost forgot: why should I grovel on my knees like some Uncle Tom house nigger before a "jesus" that doesn't even exist? Just because Catholics have this slave fetish mentality doesn't mean the rest of us do.

Rather than bend my knee to a cookie when coming into a Catholic haunted castle, I'll use the cookie for target practice to improve my skeet shooting skills.

BTW is that Dracula I hear playing the organ in the choir loft or is it the Phantom of the Opera?

  • i met one of the girls in that film shes in her 50s now and went back to where the movie was filmed and bought a house shes dead posh and has tiny fluffy white dogs

  • this movie is one of the best classic seriously!!!

  • this looks amazing

  • ragamuffinpie, read the book, it's called "The Midwich Cuckoos", by John Wyndham, a very good book, he also wrote, "The Day of the Triffids"

  • Day of the Triffids is amazing.

I didn't know he wrote the Midwich Cuckoos, is that what this film is based on?

  • The quality was great! I'd want to see this video but it's probably extremely rare and hard to find. The second making was one of the best science fictions I've seen (even if I haven't seen very many sci-fi, heh). So yeah, thanks for posting this.

  • We need to find the homeworld of the Aryans (aliens) and NUKE the hell out of it fom orbit.

Or this will be EARTH:2012, according to Dr. David Jacobs, of Temple University here in Philly in his book THE THREAT. What Hitler failed to do, THEY will do! And we will have no defence!

  • The people that invented the atomic and hydrogen bombs were Jewish refugees from Hitler's evil and genocide. Not the Ayran Blondes! However, an advanced groups of HOMO SUPERIOR hail from a star system 80-light years beyond the pleiades in anothe dimension. David Jacobs at harvard warns in THE THREAT, that the hybrids will be the new dominant species on Earth.

  • This trailer ran as a TV ad for the big screen movie when I was a young kid. It freaked me out at the time!
