OH MY GOD!! I wanted to see what happened during my root canal so badly... now that I see this.... hell somehow started to hurt like hell.... it's been 2 months already.... :(
hay,,i got hit in the mouth my tooth was bleeding it is little loose and it hurts when i move it and is swoolen around the tooth..i can still feel heat and cool sensitivity though, and it oy moves a little,. could i have fracured my tooth root or something please let me know a.s.a.p thanks..
what is that ooze thats coming out after you are drilling in the canal? I just had a root canal a few days ago and am in pain..dr said he had to drill below the gumline so i 'd be sore a few days afterward.
The tooth is made up of many miles of tiny dentine tubules, which are fed by the body. Once the pulp is removed this obviously can't happen. How can you possibly make a dead tooth sterile and stop the dentine becoming a bacteria colony untouched by the body's defenses?
okay guys im getting a feeling in the dentist and they said i needed to get a root canal how much will it be pain im 13 years old and since i was little i hated needles cause in the philipines it hurt when they give me injection but in here even though it doesnt hurt im still afraid of it but ive only had 1 injection in the mouth and it had anestesia i didnt feel a thing but i heard that i wont get anestesia? when they poke it my teeth really hurt alot when the hole gets like hit the skin inside
i had root canal treatment too on my both back teeth and it doesnt hurt a single bit im16 and i live in Latvia goot thing we have good dentists.there is no need to be afraid.good luck
I just had this done 2 weeks ago and didn't feel a thing. The nerve is gone, so you shouldn't feel pain. I went straight to work afterwards. If you pull the tooth, then you risk your other teeth shifting and loosening in your jaw. Dental implants are also more expensive than the treatment/crown restoration.
@wildlifegirl83 : Dental implant + crown might run you $2500-$3000 when all said and done. Could be less, or more, depending on where you go. Pull a tooth, and now you generally need a bridge. That's 3 crowns, maybe 2 buildups, and anywhere from $3000-$4000. You do the math.
@DocCrutch The idea that you must replace a missing tooth "or else all the teeth will shift" is only true up to a point. One or two missing teeth in an otherwise healthy person with good bone density is neither here nor there unless you feel like you want to plug the gap. A conventional bridge is expensive and requires brutalising other teeth (but there are types that don't need this) and a 'root canal' is about as logical as keeping a dead toe on your foot.
@mostmusicisbad Nothings etched in stone when in comes to the human body, so no, there are no absolutes the other teeth will move. Given the odds however, it is very likely that tooth movement may occur. I've seen teeth move after losing provisional crowns, in just three-to-six weeks. Drifting happens to patients worldwide every single day. I can't make assumptions about this person's bone density and overall oral health. I agree you could do a Maryland bridge to reduce preparing adjacent teeth.
@endoguy :O The dentist said my tooth was necrotic on the inside and he just performed a root canal! I guess that's why I can still see get pus in my gums. *sigh* Stingy dentist!
@Medracin The whole tooth is 'necrotic'. Dentine isn't just inert stone-like material - it's supposed to be living tissue served by your immune system. Root canal therapy is like embalming a dead toe and calling it 'saved'.
BLUESTUFF8 the orange stuff is called Guttapersha which is a rubber like material used to fill the root canal after cleaning and shaping them(the root canals).
Its inserted in the canal and cemented in order to fill the canal and seal the apex of the root .
yeah, front teeth are more sensitive than the back teeth cuz you know when you eat ice cream or something, you tooth feels on fire because the side enamals are thinner. my mom had one a few months ago, and the one before that she didnt feel that much afterpain.
You should really try the pro taper universal retreatment system, works like a charm, way better than i saw in your video, hate those calcified chambers!
I use GG to remove most GP then gauge consistency of apical GP with #10 file. If I can gain length to apex I'll establish a glide path then use rotaries to clean canals and remove GP from the walls. If I cannot negotiate the canal with hand files to the apex, then I'll use a few drops of choloroform to get through the GP.
I use a dewalt 5/8 bit attached to a Dremel tool on Hi. It's messy but it works like a damn. I go for complete tooth molestation. They call me the dental rapist

From what I have asked endos, it seems that you are absolutely positively not supposed to use a high or low speed bur anywhere in the canal not even in the coronal 1/3. The protocol is to use the gold file which like #40, or maybe 35
I had a couple of old fillings replaced today and that looks like what the dentist did to my teeth. That little blue plastic cover they put over your mouth makes it hard to breath when you have a deviated septum like I do. Had to sit up a couple of times just to catch my breath. Irritated the dentist some, but I was suffocating and shaking like a leaf. Next week it's numb the whole mouth and clean all tarter below the gum line. I am not looking forward to it at all, but it has to be done.
i have my appt on thursday i hope all goes well. My root canal was done when i was 8 now its comming back i dont get it after all these years. im 23 now
just got one.my mouth is numb as fuck.the dentist was real good thugh, it took about under an hour to do.must not have been bad?

What is the gray liquid that suddenly begins to seep out at 1:36? Is that infected pus?
aj5650 1 year ago
@aj5650 : Probably sodium hypochlorite. A disinfectant for the canal. You call it bleach. :)

@aj5650 Maybe what we are looking at is black pigmented bacteroides.
Can the endodontist confirm this?

fuck that.. just yank the fucking thing and get a fake. lot cheaper too.
LazyD86 2 years ago
Actually, I would almost agree with you. Just pull the thing.
RoC1909 2 years ago
You can't pull it out because it's infected. If you pulled it out, you would expose the other neighbouring teeth to the infection.
Medracin 2 years ago
@Medracin that's not correct. Infected teeth require treatment. either you perform endodontic therapy and save the tooth, or you extract the tooth.

This is a retreatment, which means the tooth is nonvital or "dead" so retreatment should be painless.
