My Dad drives the E63 and I've driven in quiet a few times, my brother is got the CLS 500 and I drive the E500, however, I've driven in faster cars then that, I owned a 2001 Mustang that was doing mid 11's in the quarter mile !

actually the E55's HP numbers are underated. The E55's HP is around 500 and 550 torque, not 469. Stock E55's have dynoed stock with 400-440 rwhp. Motor Trend gives the E55 4.2 0-60 and the E63 4.5. Some have seen 4.0 seconds. Most E55's with slicks have had some low 12 sec high 11 second quarter mile times STOCK. With just a tune and a pulley your running 0-60 around 3.8 and in the high 10's low 11's 1/4 mile.The E55 station wagon pulls 4.0 0-60. 2010 M5 does 4.6 0-60, The Beast is still king!

@08turboSS actually Motor Trend is more biased towards BMW's. I have owned both the E60 and E55. And with out a doubt the E55 is faster 0-100, after that its a close one. With the smallest pulley upgrade and ECU tune its on another playing field. The M5 handles a bit better, but I would take the AMG hands down. Actually the E55 wagon pulls 4.0 seconds flat, and the E55 has been known to do the same. The E55 still dominates after 7 years. My E55 is a stage 5 and I pretty much murder everything (:

It is not as easy to turn up the boost...yes you can do it a little. but then you have to get a tune...and a tune will only help as much as the parts will hold....you will eventually need bigger injectors,bigger fuel pump..etc...but what do you know right...you live your life 10 seconds at the time...

1. You really are quite clueless. Go read blogs, and get your facts straight. A 335i can make tons of horsepower if the mods are assembled correctly. A stock 335i actually makes around 340 (!) to the wheels, and around 290 at the cranks. Incredible engineering on BMW's part. I'm sure a 335i that's chipped would absolutely demolish any car your own (and probably a stock one too).

2. It's racing a performance model Mercedes that is double it's price. I'd take a read sports car (the BMW) anyday

Well the E63 AMG is a naturally aspired engine, no Kompressor. Its a 6.2L V8...for some reason it aint as fast as the previous version; the E55AMG which is a 5.4L V8 Kompressor engine that manages to produce less horsepower but more Torque..

Dinan guarantees no leak/boost problems, with their chip/oil cooler 335 gets ~ 380hp/420tq. Add exhaust/intake and you get 400hp+ car.

smh, the e63 benz in every video and spec sheet are faster than the m-5. More torque and more power. The m-5 is a beast and with no limiter stops at around 203-205mph. The benz are limited at 155 and 186 for an upgrade. If completely removed, will walk over 205mph. Bimmer is fast, but the benz in reality is just faster. Plain and simple.

Firstly, The only reason this 335i lost to the E55 in the first two runs was because it was leaking boost. The E63 AMG has a 7 speed Auto not a 5 ( thats the E55 Amg because the gearbox cant take 700nm). The e63 will take an M5 over a 1/4mile but any highway pull above 80mph, the M5 is going to walk an E63, its gearing is tighter and its gearbox loses less power through the drivetrain than the E63.
