I played 1st violin for this my freshman year, its like hell on sheet music, but its amazingly fun when you learn to play it :D I'm a sophomore now, and I'm playing this on the vibraphone for the marching band show :) Such a great piece
At my college my percussion instructor arranged this for a percussion ensemble and we are playing it along with a tap dancer. I play the marimba part which intense.
I agree that the percussion is too loud. It sorta takes a while to get into the swing of things, which is a little unfortunate when you consider the length of the piece! The violins have trouble synchronising also, and they're overshadowed by the brass.
That ending needs some serious work and your percussion is way too loud. Other than that not bad for one of Copeland's hardest pieces. I swear he was insane when he wrote this. The Horn requirement alone for Appalachian Spring and Rodeo is enough to make someone's head spin.

I have to play this soon. We only got three rehearsals.
