No thunder ? so what ! too far, too small, wrong side of the wind... besides, lightning that happens cloud-to-cloud, in-cloud, does not do the strong thunder that cloud-to-ground lightning does. I believe in lightning without thunder noise.

I've seen the same phenomena in Croatia, but the lightnings were bigger. However, no thunder at all, even it was quite close.

@maxlaton1 That severe thunderstorm was located some 26 miles away. The sound of thunder cannot be heard by people if the storm cloud is at that distance.

I think with that kind of lightning and the very unusual formation of this so called cloud it would have received some press coverage or at least made the evening weather report. Could you provide a link to verify the 26 miles and the location of this video. I think there is a lot more to this then people are being told. Ionospheric heaters come to mind. And there is nothing secret about them.

It's easier for some people to scream "Aliens" or "Secret Gov't Projects" than to accept a mundane explanation for an unusual phenomenon. I got a very amusing (although disjointed, irrational and profane) post out of the blue from an individual further back on this thread.

He attacked me simply for stating my opinion that this was a normal phenomena. His main concern was that how dare I post on as important subject as this as I had no favs, no videos or no channels. How can you answer this?

This is definitely a volcanic ash cloud. These clouds frequently produce their own lightning.

I don't think i have ever seen lightning so frequent within the ash cloud. What an amazing catch. I bet it was scary yet spectacular to watch this. How long did it last for and how long before they evacuated?

@HigherWaysWoman Umm, this is a vocano, lightning is very frequent within the ash cloud. you might want to do a little research before you go screaming "Government, HAARP" ect ect. I am always seeing such uneducated people crying wolf and not know exactly what they are really seeing. Not trying to sound mean but it IS a volcano. If you wanna know translate this to English: El 4 de Marzo cuando salí del trabajo en Buenos Aires, tome el colectivo a mi barrio (Lugano), alrededor de las 20 horas (8PM) aproximadamente, vi desde el colectivo esta nube sentido suroeste a unos 50 km. aproximadamente. Nada de volcanes, nada de tornados, nada de fabricas industriales por donde podría estar la nube, solo campo y pequeños pueblos. Solo fue una simple tormenta eléctrica... Sorry...
