Definitely very talented and a very good sound, only at the beginning the notes were played a little too short in my opinion.
I'm playing this at the Texas State Solo and Ensemble Contest on the alto saxophone, and my piano accompanist tells me to make sure I think legato to keep the notes long and flowing.
I know it wasnt the best interpretetion, but I think they did their best...well I recognize they have to work on...but they did it acceptable, didnt they???
this piece sounds better in legato than in stacatto (the way they are playing it) and i think is the way is originallyl played, and in one of the first themes they are separating all notes instead of making the bows how they are written in real
I think it was too fast, there shouldn't have been stopped bows at the beginning, and they weren't exactly together all of the time. It was out of tune as well.
its not together 2 me... and yall should have slurred it sounds 2 choppy and you kept speeding up during the song.... it should a little slower.... but otha wise GREAT!

Canon in D is a very beautiful piece. I am playing this same arrangement with my quartet, but the song should be more legato. The short notes make everything sould very stiff, but the use of vibrato in the correct notes adds very well to the overall piece. The viola seems to like this song very much, and the cello did a good job of playing ina steady beat. The first two violins are also terrific with their techniques that they use.
Mmmmmmmmmm, amazing : )

I agree with 2stock, because Canon in D is suppose to be flowing, I think it's called lagato for slowly and flowing

thats true... legato sounds better than staccatto. same with bows, the separate all notes in second or third theme and thats not the original bows.
and cello... total absence =/

ill re-write what i just wrote -.-

cello could have had more presence

canon should be slower then will nice
doreenslayer 5 years ago
Needs to be slower. The violins and violas are out playing that poor chello... although it depends who is playing melody.
eeyoreFAN1 5 years ago
Actually, some music sheets make the notes for the cello quarter notes rather than whole or half notes.
The tempo is for the performers to chose.
