Both of my friends told me, on the same day, that they got the RROD, and they were both going to get PS3s. As a PS3 owner, i told them they would not not be dissapointed. To be honest i decided NOT to get a 360 solely because of the RROD. I would hate it if i got a brand new console and i cant use it.

Infectus doesn't really do anything for 360 yet that hasn't been done before. All the infectus chip says for future modding of the 360 is "possibly some cool stuff in the future". Downgrading firmware is a lot different to modifying hardware based security.

Ok, I'll elaborate myself. This won't work at all, if you are wanting to use it to play backed up games. There is no such chip yet and when there is, it's likely there won't be just one chip since the PS3 security is controlled in multiple places and stages. Don't buy this thing, as it is pretty redundant for average users right now.

What's the use of a modchip for PS3 anyway? If you download games, it'll take days to complete. Those "ROMS" are 10GB - 30GB!? Plus you need a BDdrive in your computer, and a BD disk.

With the money you're paying for both BD station, disk and mod chip, you could have bought yourself 3 new PS3 games! And now I didn't mentioned the internet bill you'll get at the end of the month...

Just buy your games for this console, modding is more expensive than a real game...
