I have an all white parakeet named Hedwig, i got him 2 years ago when i was 10. I had another parakeet named Errol, but sadly, my dog got him. I almost named my other parakeet Pigwidgeon, but i named him Houdini instead because he is quite the escape artist! (Hedwig, Houdini, and Pip are my current parakeets, not to mention my Lovebird, Crackers!)

When i get older, i want to have a birdroom and be just like you two. I have had 2 budgies, one named Armani, who passed away of a tragic accident that i will forever blame myself for. My second budgie is named Boots, He is a yelloface with a blue bottom, pastel green chest.

If the bird does not over heat, has a chance to get away, and is a very confident bird, then it is fine.

In short, you see how we do it in this video. We have stuff for them to do outside the cage. They want to come out, and if they want to come out then chances are they will want to spend time with you also.

I just love your birds. I too have two Bugies, Male and Female. They won't step up, they won't come out of the cage unless I take them out. They won't talk, basicly, they won't do anything but sit on their perches, swings, etc. and look at me like I'm crazy! Help!!! Your birds are just wonderful, how do you do it?

Why not have plants in there-you can make it look like a true aviary with some indoor potted trees or palms and vines, -the birds would feel like they're in their natural environment.

Just go to our blog to learn. You really need to let your birds out. They need out time, foraging opportunities, and a playground. That is why our birds are so tame.

People should always have multiple sources of income and not just rely on a job for money. When people ask me what I do for a living I tell them it depends on the time of the year. With the birds we never buy retail, always wholesale straight from the warehouse. Even though I work extremely hard even to exhaustion, I am a firm believer in working smarter and not harder.

I really love your Love Birds!!!!....I've 2 myself and i've trouble getting near them coz my peach faced peachy loves to charge at the bottom so i don't go near baby....i don't allow him away with it but boy does his bite hurt lol.....when i had peachy on his own he was the most loving bird but now i'm an intruder...they both have lots of play time out of the cage and fly around with my 2 budgies as well...so they're all happy birds!!!!

wow I am so jealous how clean everything is,I clean everyday and they are still messy at the end of the day,also I built them a huge playgym with wooden ladders everywhere but silly me drilled the ladders to attach them and now they have eaten all the rungs of the ladder and I can't remove it now ;-(

Why do you have to cuss and misspell words? We never intended on keeping Skittles even before he was hatched. It is his destiny that he can have a family on his own so they can supply him with the one on one attention he deserves. With our 10 birds, he can not possibly compete for the attention that is intended for him. This goes for any of the 50 babies we have had. Yes, he is family, but when they become adopted, our family expands not diminishes.

They actually play on those gyms?? Mine wouldn't stay on anything they can't chew (pieces off of) for more than a minute. Every gym has to be wood with them. I really like how colorful those gyms are though!

They want the corner to feel more secure and safe so nothing can sneak up on them. Before we got them they were not used to exploring their home, so new things can still upset them. They are building courage though and the cage placement helps. As for the head, check out our feeding frenzy video. They are all over my head!

I am gonna have to get one of those playgrounds eventually. I just recently rescued to baby lovebirds from a lady who was going to throw them in her garbage! It was so sad and made me so pissed! I have been handfeeding them and they are not getting their feathers! They are sooo beautiful. I believe one will be a dutch blue and one kinda looks like he will look like BeBe. I had 6. 2 were the parents and then they had 4 babies so i hand fed them and then b/c i live in an apartment i got complaints so i had to sell the parents and then 2 of the 4 abies. I was so heart broken i think i cried a bit and now i have 2 and the y are my world w/ my 2 geckos and fish lol.

6 weeks is still VERY young; makes sure they are completely weaned before you bring them home. If your friend did a great job of socialization then it will take less than a week, but you should start to bond and interact with them from day 1.
