I went five pages deep in the comments and was surprised to find that no one had mentioned The Crow. The last background lines are verbatim from the film and sound exactly like the young actress that spoke them. I could see this as being an homage to that movie on Amy Lee's part. It certainly fits. That aside, this is my favorite song that Evanescence has done. It's haunting.
