mark easley, this is my favourite version of this song. i prefer more than gordon's elvis or paul weller. you got a great voice and i truly appreciate your guitar lessons. especially those of my all time favourite artist.. paul simon..cheers from england mark
Love this song. First heard it sung by two Irish musicians. If you ever get a chance to hear their version then it's worth it. It's on a cd called "Ragairne" by Seamus Begley & Jim Murray.
Okay, I understand this gentleman is away on tour and so can't reply but I just wanted to add: That little smirk at the end of each song is just KILLER. That's just 'icing on the cake.' Heh-heh-heh-heh-heh....
I really like your version of this! My dad sings this, with the same slower tempo; I think it takes on a somewhat different 'mood', as a result. Great job on this ;)
You are good enough that you should buy a good condenser mic and record in a bigger room with some rugs to dampen the sound a bit. By the way just saw a cello soloist a couple weeks ago that had a similar technique with pushing the glasses back up between phrases :-)
Good version, true to Gord's lyrics and tempo.. Thanks!
