as far as Iam aware this song was written originally in the key of Fminor and the studio version sometimes is run at the speed of F#minor and there was a live version done in the key Gminor so there will be a difference in the voice OBVIOUSLY this live version it looks as though Barry is playing at Fminor and I think over the years Barry may have changed his falsetto style slightly too...it's a bit strange seeing Barry in Robin's spot must be a better mike

It is funny you give Elton John as an example to support your argument, because his voice today sounds NOTHING like it did in the '70s.
