  • Oh my goodness these British accents are making this show absolutely beyond ludacris!

  • Germans had British accent? o.0

  • @MrTr0llol: this story was suppose to be from the German perspective, thus Schultz only talks with a German accent when he goes to England.

  • brits are great actors.

  • @Rico8458 not really.

  • Talk about great casting, Ian Richardson as Major Neuheim is beyond brilliant!

  • The Greeks may have taught the ancient world about drama and acting, but it was the British who taught the modern world. And this is one yank who thinks there is nothing more delightful than English humor no matter what the accent is supposed to be. "Private Schulz" is absolutely wonderful, how I wish I could see it again. For what ever reason it seems to have disappeared and I'm thankful for what we have here on YouTube.

  • @logancody05: Amazon UK has new DVD copies for 7 Pounds : )

  • @TeeVeeNZ Thanks Lad. Stupid me, I never thought of checking to see if there was a DVD available. By the way isn't the Gestappo man an absolute riot. I actually think he stold the scene. Well, thanks again from across the "pond."

  • @logancody05: yes Clive Merrison sure has the look and feel of a Gestapo Officer,

I have him on my 1977 "A Christmas Carol" Clips playing Bob Cratchit and he also showed up in a few Classics and Doctor Who episodes over the years.

  • Nothing worse than Englishman playing Germans in war movies with those cockey accents, I just hate it it ruins the movie, this Gestapo agent is an absolute joke.Like Jude Law in Ebemy at the gates, when the Commisar ask him if he can shoot and he says "a little' in that cockey accent, instead of a thick Russian accent.

  • @Allanlegacy43: Yes Englishman. but better then American for some reason Germans don't like doing stories from this time in History.

  • Interesting show. Except for the fact that The GeStaPo WAS, in point of fact, a part of The SS: (Office IVb) of The RSHA to be more precise, and though the SD patch is missing from the Sturmbannfuhrer's (Major's) sleeve, it's otherwise an enjoyable watch.

  • @BunkerGearGal: Interesting & detailed Comment, Not too many Dark Humour TV series about the German side of the War, this is still the best I think.

  • where is episode 2 and 3?

  • this was a great comedy, hilarious

  • Low budget production maybe, but that Gestapo Officer was a superb piece of writing superbly performed.

  • Hilarious . This was a brilliant series with Ian Richardson and Elphick as hero -anti hero . Why was this never set up as a vidoe series or as DVD ?

Some of the lines are classic in British understated humour :)

More please and where can this series be bought ? obtained ?

  • @IrishDubliner99: Yes before Hi Tech TV they had to make due with talent.

The DVD series set has been spotted on Amazon UK.

  • Great comedy.

  • The great days of British Television, low budget but great writers!
