  • This song is so fucking amazing on acid especially this part!!!!! You lose where you are and feel like somethings gonna happen and then BAM! you start to smile and feel so fucking happy the happiest you've ever felt!!!!

  • PURE LSD I LOVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • esta buenisima esta cancion me encanta !

  • Heart attack at 1:51.....sh*t

  • What really surprises me is that at around 07:05 Syd managed to remember what the original riff was like

  • @grinshu What do you mean by that??

  • Does anybody know if Syd pawned off his guitar and gave up music totally after he left PInk Floyd?

  • @AntiquatedPoet he did some solo stuff for a couple of years

  • Comment removed

  • awesome!! *-*

  • @PsychedelicMonkeys17 astronomy domine is best live with syd though, wouldnt you agree?

  • -▲≡

  • So I finally found a "song", let's call it a recording, by The Floyd with Barrett that I like. Gilmore's Pink Floyd is still better.

  • SYD BARRETT is THE Pink Floyd, for those who thinks there is only one

    Pink Floyd.

    This is THE PINK FLOYD.

    yes.. This is wonderfullwonderfullwonderfull...

  • The ending is awesome... Syd and Floyd jammin!!!

  • Good club UFO clips

  • i love what syd does at 1:52 with his guitar

  • Und für mich immer wieder eine Performance, die mich die Qualen der heutigen Arbeitswelt und des damit verbundenen Stresses vergessen lässt.... Yeah, die Altmeister des Psychedelic-Rock sollen hoch leben!

  • man these guys were fucked trippin off acid but the most influential band to ever know the earth...music would not exist today if it wasnt for pink floyd im telling you these guys are genious like actually they knew how to please a crowd like they know peopel got sick of just seeing 4 guys stand on a stage and sing so thats why they made The Wall because they turned pink floyd into a multimedia event! and that was the birth of The Wall..i find that actually GENIOUS ...best band in history

  • ART:The conscious production or arrangement of sounds, colors, forms, movements, or other elements in a manner that affects the sense of beauty, specifically the production of the beautiful in a graphic or plastic medium........... THANK YOU PINK FLOYD !!!

Syd Barrett is totally smiling near the last rifts... amazing

  • the ending is fucking good!!!

  • Das ist ein früher Meilenstein für ein Lebensgefühl, dass vielen Spießern der damaligen Zeit total abging - und dem sie 20 bis 30 Jahre später nacheiferten bzw. nachweinten....

  • This song has nearly 17 mins but it looks like 1 min to me as I am travelling at the speed of light. And when the end comes I just feel like taking another trip. Addicting!

  • Great material, Long live the FLOYD

  • Eargasms are fun.

  • thumbs up if this song just Blew Your Fucking MIND!!!!

  • no need for a time machine all you need is three hits of lsd and you will travel back in time and feel like you were there or as one with the floyd. p.s. make sure you get round trip tickets when you take the trip 8)

  • no need for a time machine all you need is three hits of lsd and you will travel back in time and feel like you were there or as one with the floyd. p.s. nake sure you get round trip tickets when you take the trip 8)

  • 1966 rave party.

  • wheres the album version...shit !!!! FUCK YOU

  • @StinkiwinkiPoo This is the sound techniques version with the actual footage of Barrett playing IOD on it. It would be rather silly to dub 9 minutes of studio music over 17 minutes of footage now wouldn't it?

  • That was awesome, part one and part two....pure musical insanity, and sort of has a way of drawing me in and making it impossible to do anything else because I'm so focused on the awesome music and the video is awesome as well.

  • Only if I had a Delorean Time Machine! Hehehe!!! +)

  • This fucking song is goood!

  • This and "Barret" album wa s my 1st trip

  • @gabriellelouise- yeah, i knew you were joking lol.

  • I tripped to this on my parent's floor with my head between 2x30w (line output) speakers. They were not amused in the early '70's I didn't care - I was too stoned

  • 6.25 -7.53 fuckin epic

started the song over saying ...

  • @gabriellelouise- we wouldn't know about that. Unless you were LOOKING for things?

  • @merseymain Well, I wasn't LOOKING for anything, no, but I did actually watch the video, and there were some topless chicks in it (Interspersed with magazine covers about swinging London and messages from Billy Graham about moral depravity.) I was just making a joke as to why it got a million hits and hardly anyone bothered to watch this one, the second part. Which is too bad, cause it's pretty damn sexy, musically anyway.

  • @shaggystu100 Yeah, me too! I aint the only one! Wish I coulda burnt one 1st.

  • Who was working the sound equipment? A fkking master!!! I miss the good acid.

  • Best Part Is 06:45

  • wow! what trip !... one interstellar trip of true !. Thanks Syd... Shine on, Syd !

  • syd definitely got smoke in his eyes at the end!

  • wow

  • I love the sound of that farfisa organ.

  • god syd

  • Floyd were very clever with slapback delays, echoing reverbs and the delay effect altogether.. Think reverb is a very important effect.

  • What we see, all that we are looking at, is only a minute fraction of what was going on right then and there. If only we could see footage documenting all the individual ways everyone there was experiencing this.

  • 1 000 000 people were blown away by part 1 so hard they couldn't hit the button "part 2"

  • @KaliczuDanczk I love your comment ;p

  • it seems second part is first part's reverse play

  • I really like the difference the Rickenbacker makes to the sound.

  • @pooginmouse His 4001S had a great sound...shame it got replaced by a Fender! I wonder what DSOTM would have sounded like with a Rick...

  • I really like the difference the Rickenbacker makes to the sound

  • Amen! Five stars!

  • Graças à Deus já haviam filmadoras e gravadores àquela época.

    Pink Floyd - Simplesmente geniais!!!!

  • i would like to hear this song but with modern sounds... should be interesting

    love Pink Floyd :)

  • best sounds i have heard from these guys

  • 1:55 Orgasmic Guitar!! :D

  • Syd the greatest ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,that Dave should kiss his grave every day ,,without Syd ...no Dave nor Floyd

  • AMAZING! ONE OF THE FIRST PSYCHO ROCK SONG EVER! PERFECT SOUND,GREAT MELODIES!

  • bravo.

  • @ThiagoJugler probabilmente risponderebbero grazie

  • I love how at the end Syd just sort of leans over his guitar...

  • So unique, so inventive, so creative. Why are people afraid to think outside the box today??

everytime i hear the end, my body is taken over by chills

  • Great footage. where did you get this from?

  • @underpantswedgy I found it on some private LAN network long time ago, it was luck!

  • @thoosah indeed thanks luck is awesome isn't it?

  • @thoosah it's from another earth

  • @thoosah you lucky bastard :D

  • @thoosah You should put part 1 and 2 in the same video since YouTube removed the max length of the videos. Oh and this is so AWESOME!!!

  • @underpantswedgy

    It came from

Tonight, Let's All Make Love In London.

It's the version, with the intro and credits.

  • @underpantswedgy

Its from the film Tonight lets make love in London

  • 11 villages are missing their idiots...

  • Wow Sid is perfect, this theme is magic !!

  • @MegaWalter009 S Y D

  • damn it, better than any orgy in the world

  • wow k buen viaje y pensar k vere a roger en el palacio ahora para dic wuiiiii

  • At 4:08 Syd's mirrored Fender Esquire is leaning against the wall and he is playing another guitar. Can anybody tell what kind of guitar this is?

  • @Equinas I'm not sure, but I THINK it's a Danelectro.

  • @cowellwannabe71 spot on its his Danelectro 59 DC

  • @Equinas Danelectro 4 sure

  • @66MadcapLaughs

Thanks, I have read that he played some of the the songs on a Danelectro, including Interstellar Overdrive.

  • There should have been a syd barrett signature fender.

  • @LeCapital DEFINETLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Genius Syd Barrett!!

  • David is my favorite floyd member, but Syd was fucking incredible!!

    RIP You crazy diamond.....

  • @GCMPJLRMYLIFE all pink floyd is favorites, whit syd, gilmore, and all of them

  • Syd's playing at 4:18-5:05. Simply amazing sounds, even by today's standards.

  • Sack modern music, this is beyond amazing.

  • No gnomes? No buttercups? No Tinky Winky? This is not Syd!

  • i love this

  • Most people have viewed part one, but blanked part two! fuckin assssss'oles.

  • @merseymain lol. but what would be the sense only watch part one, i thing is a complety track part one and part two.

  • @merseymain fuck you

  • @merseymain

those are people that don't understand, or are used to plain music

  • @merseymain Which is really a shame, because part two is just as if not MORE amazing.

  • @merseymain I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that the first part had more nudity.

  • Awesome! Awesome! Awesome! Great video. It really gives you the feeling of whet it was like to be there. Great song for driving.

  • i said it few times already. but this shit is absoutely remarkable, amazing and inspiring!!! Roger and Syd are the best!!!!! PINK FLOYD will never die!

  • Good stuff.Did they ever do a gig at ULU(London)?

  • Might not sound all that great now but for its time this early Floyd was revolutionary.

  • This IS still great. I mean, where else could you find experimental music like this? Not in modern music, I'll tell you that.

  • @1indi64.....

eat shit and die dave gilmour has busted loads more creative than you

  • Fantastic song, so trippy, such attention in the little details, The Floyd are not my favorite band for nuthing. <3

@ 1ndi64 What the hell, man?? I seriously don't get why Davy should die, I mean, his last album was a pretty gud experiment at tranquility and he even went as far as laying Remember a Day for Rick's passing, a song I thought I'd never hear from any remaining member of my life! Yes, I might be 20 and totally drunk but I still stay impartial to the fact that Gilmour must live! D:

  • I think Syd is so amazing,he was a musical genious! he did things never done before and for that time(1966)that was a GAS! Today it's his birthday,I wish he was here...R.I.P.

  • AHH god when they went back to the main riff i had SOOO much chills shooting in me, it was amazing. And no u dont need drugs to appreciate them, i never did drugs, dont plan to, but i can still get high off this music

    screw the wall too, haha

  • Maybe you just don't get it? =D

  • Ha Roger Waters looks like a total melvin...

    But still, amazing song

  • this music blow me away

  • Critics always call this type of music "egocentric" and "self-indulgent", but I love it! Go ahead! Explore a musical theme until you've found it's logical conclusion!

  • You were probably reading a review of The Wall.

    Ohhhh, snap!

  • How so?

  • It's ego-centric and self indulgent. It's a joke, though I mean every word of it. Waters actually managed to cram his entire person up his own asshole on that album.

  • You're right, mobile513, Waters certainly laid himself bare on The Wall album. But my original coment concerned the extended solos and improvisations that critics found "self-indulgent" in the late 1960s. Back in '79-80, I remember "The Wall" as being very well received by even the most snobish of critics. Even back then, "they got it".

  • I fully understood what you meant, again, it was a joke. You know, "you sure your not thinking of [insert target of satire]". It's a standard set-up, like "that's what she said".

Although, the only negative reviews I can recall came later, when Syd was in an acid coma and refused/was unable to play. I'm not as sure what they thought of other bands then, but usually when I read a critic trashing a self indulgent solo, it comes from some starchy prog group like Yes, or a wanky white blues band.

  • @duckman531

that's the real way to make music, to create something new

if you keep doing things for the audience, you will just repeat the same stuff or the changes you can make will be few or too slow

  • @duckman531 It really is, and acid is as well. Acid is a very selfish drug. To be on an acid trip is a very private experience, a world in which no one else can enter, a joy unshared. It isolates people. All can be together on a trip and share the experience of being high together (not always) but still experiencing very unique things. This was a product of Syd's introversion, the door opening his insides spilling over into the logical world. Isn't it fucking great????

  • @BreezesofConey Yeah, I've tripped with people I completetly trusted, and would also do it on my own. When you're in a great mood with life, tripping on your own is amazing. Only lasted 3 years with me. I knew when to stop lol!

  • @Kelly14UK Which is more than I could say for myself lol. I took acid for years, among other things. Think it scars one permanently. That door never completely closes lol

  • @BreezesofConey so fucking true... so f'ing true

  • syd barrett is a personaly hero of mine, its nice to see videos like this on youtube

  • PHROW!!!!!!! just amazing! big fan of roger and syd!!!!! david is a bit shite! good at guitar though. Roger's the man!!!!!!!!!! pink floyd/SB, an inspiration.

  • sounds like syd and floyd are laying down the psychadelic staples for what sonic youth would have on the early material from 82-87

  • Sonic WHO?

This is the Floyd mate, enough said!

  • I don't know why your comment got marked down. Both artists in their own ways dismantled prior notions of guitar playing in rock/popular music of the 20th century. They took the guitar out of its traditional roles of playing chords/solos, and turned it into a noise-making device. I wouldn't doubt it if they've been influenced by Syd's Floyd and his playing style.

  • ¡GRANDE, SYD! ¡¡ MUY GRANDE!!

  • Thelsabel7 stole my thunder..but Hurzyu's trying to drag this old Windyindy argument out about stuff that's been said a hundred times over..it's over so you Shut up you jerk

  • Great Song!!!!

    @1ndi64

What is up with Dave, fujivoo and you?!?!

Stop hatin on people and especially on Music.....Music comes down to one thing only....to Listen!!!

Its pathetic and sad to listen to people like you...Its so pointless.

But whatever go ahead, brag like a child, its your right...

  • ExTro119, I'll tell you what's up with 1ndi64, fujivoo, fujiloony, and HurzYou (see comments about 3 mths ago on this site): they're all the same person.

He's one deeply demented troll that I've already busted on the Veggie Man site. He stages phony arguments with himself to lure people into his dementia. It amuses him. He's a very lonely troll.

    Proceed with caution.

    Peace.

  • people like u are killing rock and roll

  • you're re-hashing all Indy's remarks...we've heard all this stuff a hundred times over..the argument has run it's course about the "busker Dave" and all that.Syd's group stuff, great you made your "brilliant" points.....you're dragging this out ad-nauseum

  • Shut up you clon. Syd rules but this acount and Indi acount sucks.

If you hate David Gilmour and Pink Floyd say it, don't use Syd as an excuse. Stop trolling around.

  • Isabel 7 > I don't hate David Gilmour. He may be a kind fellow but he was in the wrong position. He is a mediocre songwriter and he was not used to play experimental rock music.

I don't hate Pink Floyd. I love Pink Floyd. I do love the real Pink Floyd: Syd Barrett's. After Syd's departure, the remaining blokes should have disbanded or chosen a different name, for example «Buskin' Dave, Rick, Nick and Roger». That would have been honest.

PS: As you see, I'm not the only one to think so.

  • Your previous posts told me you hate David. He was a busker and there's nothing wrong with that, in fact he has acomplished more than many other people who had a regular life. He was a busker because he wanted to be one.

By the way I'm not the only one who think Pink Floyd is an amazing band, even without Syd, who I love very much.

  • I hate buskers. I hate what they are doing. Standing around on the streets and strumming boring songs all day long.

So I don't hate Dave as a person, I just hate what he was doing and I think that he was not qualified for the position as lead singer and guitarist in a psychedelic rock group.

  • but it was long time ago. Why are you keeping this grudge?

Don't blame David for Syd's departure, it was not his idea after all. Wether he was qualified or not, most people who buy Pink Floyd records think he is.

After all Syd made two beautiful records with David help, so if you despise David, you are despising these records too. then

  • I'm not keeping a grudge, I'm just telling the truth. I don't blame David for Syd's departure. I do blame David for his lack of interesting musical ideas. He was unsuccessful as a busker, and a busker, even a successful one, will never be able to take the place of a genius such as Syd. Pink Floyd should have disbanded after Syd's departure.

  • What Truth are you telling, that David was a busker? So what with that, it doesn't mean anything, not even probe your point for what you're repeating in everypost.

Pink Floyd continued because it wasn't Syd's band, it was a band. Remember, Roger was in London and Syd came to join him to make some music. So you can't say it was Syd nor Roger's band, they were in a band with other fellows.

  • Yes it's true, Dave was a busker. Did you know that he nearly died for malnutrition? He was so unsuccessful.

Pink Floyd were arguably Syd's group. He did write nearly all their songs. After his departure they suddenly lacked a songwriter. So they had to write songs of their own but unfortunately they were untalented songwriters so the group began to suck when Syd was gone. They should have disbanded.

  • Of course I knew it. So because this, David and Pink Floyd are a bad band?

If this is your whole argument your not doing a great job.

About the band, since you were not part of it your opinion was not something they would have care. They continued and made good records that happen you don't like. It, there are millions of people around the world who love their stuff. Deal with it, but stop saying the same over and over.
