I feel a deep respect and admiration to Glenn. Love his albums with Tony Iommi. They are the best of friends and he's a Brummie too. Long live Glenn! Long live TONY!
I saw this program live and this people had no idea who was Glenn Hughes and the host boy just mentioned he was one of the Sabbath's vocalist, didn't say anything about his history came from Deep Purple and stuff.. But it was nice to see him live for the 1st time..
''THE DUDE THAT'S ON THE KEYBOARD'' is Geoff Nichols..we can consider him like the fifth black sabbath..from 1980 to 1995 in their albums and many live shows!
@0o0Simo0o0 So it IS him? I thought so, but didn't know he was a close friend with Glenn, at least not good enough to do something like this. Anyway, I first thought that "man, this session keyboardist has got great connection to the material" and of course, he helped write lots of it ^^ The man behind amazing material such as the intro to "Nightmare", "Stonehenge", "Battle of Tyr" etc... What a great keyboardist he is, hope to see him live some day, with Tony Martin perhaps?
he should work with heaven and hell and go out and tour another metal masters tour, this time wit metallica, saxon, queensryche maybe armoured saint., glenn hughes is the perfect singer in this time of loss of r j d. ronnie would be honored. hell may ian gillen. i need to see this one more time. where s tony martin. sabbath need to keep on rockn ronnie whould love it.
this ain't exactly a sabbath tune, iommi's original intention, was to be a solo project, but the record company would'nt allow it, n forced him to call it sabbath
anyone remember that whole fight thing....someone punched Glen for fucking around on his girlfriend or something..and he developed a nasal drip or something? He was having a hard time hitting all the high notes in SEVENTH STAR ...thats when the great Ray Gillen came in.......
@MrJujubies1 And you do a great thing.I think the best for Sabbath was Dio and im pissed of when people start saying you asshole Ozzy was.The same goes with my Deep Purple favourite mark mk3.They all start bitching and saying that im an asshole and mark 2 is the best.Like i cant have an opinion for my favourite bands.Anyway man
@MrJujubies1 I respect you for that opinion I personally prefer Tony, but I love all eras except Gillen, he sucks. Overrated in my book. But Glenn was great. No denying that.
Sounds and looks great to me. I longed to see Deep Purple back when and missed them every time at Long Beach Arena. The last time with Tommy Bolin would've been nice. Glenn and David Coverdale together sounds great but have always liked Glenn's voice solo, especially on the Tony Iommi Black Sabbath album. Good song.
he had very awful career during 80s struggling with his addictions. I thinks this song is some answer to himself wrote with his long-time friend Tony Iommi for Iommi's first solo album in 1986 which was released as Black Sabbath after pressure from the label. I think this is the best he did in bad period in 80s. I like Seventh Star album so much. This shows exactly how incredible he is singin' even Heavy Metal. He IS THE Real VOICE of Rock. God Bless Him!
Extremely good song from an extremely overlooked album. I'm a Sabbath fan that appreciates all their eras including the new Heaven and Hell band. Anyone else?
Glenn is the voice of the rock no question about it. My favorites are Phenomena, project X, Hughes Turner project are the best. Dance with the davil, who's watching you, belive, devil's road, Phoenix rising is yet another best, no stranger to love, stop.
Actually the reason Glenn couldn't finish the tour wasn't coke! He was punched in a fight and had congealed blood in his throat which caused him to lose his voice and he needed an op to sort it out! Thank god he's ok and we get to hear that fantastic voice, go Glenn!
That is absolutely true...but he admits to a major coke problem at the time too that was already causing issues. Another problem was that he was uncomfortable onstage singing with just a mike, no bass or other instrument, and he looked it.
Glenn sounds amazing, but the band sucks
