  • Is most of the sound from the silencer the bullet hitting the rock? Or is it the gun action?

  • If I see anyone shooting a rock, i just wait until they fall to the ground, because ricochets are very dangerous and if you are not careful enough, you can end up hurting people other than yourself, try a target or an object that doesn't ricochet as easlily

  • @Mrsantaissatanisnew Like a metal target, maybe? That'd be better, huh? Or the hillside? LOL!

  • @SNOmultimedia LOL YEA lol

  • SOLD!! i like my G19 for my concealed carry cause of its compact size, this looks alot larger than i thought it was but still very outstanding vid im gonna go check one out this weekend , you got balls man shooting at that rock but again outstanding comparison, helluva difference. i shall subscribe!) take care

  • Your video was pretty awesome. But I personally think rocks arent the best targets since they can actually have the ricochet bullets come at you. But glad ur safe and thanks for the vid!

  • Great video, my only complaint is when you shot with the suppressor, the rock kinda ruined it. I still heard a loud bang from the rock and couldn't really tell how loud the gun itself was..

  • @JFSniper147 Well, the sound of the ricochets gives some scale to the sound of the gun firing, a basis of comparison which is absent if I just shoot into the dirt. Fortunately, I have that too, here watch?v=W-f656NUWVQ

  • Haters using the rock as a backstop just means the SNOMAN got balls and loves the rush! You guys are just upset that you didnt think of it first. Besides whos ass is in the hanger if a rock pops back your or his..........Rock on SNOWMAN. Let the haters come ouuuuuuuuuuuuuhhh shall they be shut down!

  • wow great vid, I never thought a silencer made it THAT quiet! :)

  • I like you vdeo but It is not wise to use a rock as a backstop.

  • Always wear eye protection, ricochets may hit your eyes. Wait...

  • Would liked to have seen this with out the sound of the impacts and ricochets, just the sound of the pistol from range.

  • Eye protection will not stop those ricochets. At least use frangible ammunition.

  • whasts the difference between silencer and suppressor?

  • @xxxCRAZYLOVExxx

    None.

It's now generally known as a suppressor because it doesn't totally "'silence" the report of the shot, plus you still hear the "action" of the pistol when fired.

Plus, the word "suppressor" sounds better and more PC to the liberals. Not as "scary" and "mafioso" to them.

  • @xxxCRAZYLOVExxx Semantics only - they're the exact same thing. "Suppressor" is the proper term; "silencer" is a misnomer, since it's almost physically impossible to make a gun completely silent. Good question!

  • @xxxCRAZYLOVExxx Although the technical name of these devices is sound suppressor, the term "silencer," while inaccurate, is still used in the US code and regulations, and in common parlance among many competitive and recreational shooters. I use them interchangeably.

  • i came here from the Miss Universe vid :D

  • PEW! ZING! WING!

  • Never too far from a car. A symptom of our times.

  • lets shoot at that hard surface instead of the ground!

  • So many ricochets ....... Not safe if ya ask me. . Nice comparison of the suppressor tho

  • @turtle580 No, it's definitely not safe. :-D

  • @turtle580 A ricochet from a 45 acp is not a big deal if you're wearing eye protection. I've been hit on the bridge of my nose with a 200g lead swc from a 45 coming off steel 10 feet away...it feels like a light punch, makes your eyes water. A jacketed bullet could probably cut you, not a big deal.

  • @NotElmerKeith Ya im sure its not that big a deal but I sure in the Hell dont want to get hit by nothin... learned my lesson the hard way as a child. with shootin a steel bowl on the ground with a bb gun haha shit came back and hit me Dead center of my eyes... Extremely lucky could be wearing an eyepatch right now haha I was just sayin that cuz you can hear them almost every shot was one .

  • Enjoyed the video. Thanks for posting. Seeing the TMR all gunked up was rather enlightening. I have a fiveseven pistol and AAC FiveseveN can and I hope you don't mind if I do a similar video of that setup. I'm also using a mini dot sight and I'll try my can wet to see if I have similar problems with crap all stuck in my optic. (5.7 is delayed blowback, instead of short recoil locking chamber). Thanks again. Best silencer vid I've ever seen.

  • @observed00 I can't wait to see this video. Be sure and let us know when you do it.

  • Never ask a man 2 Questions 1- Is it loaded? 2-Is the safety on?

  • If he is so safe why is he shooting at a rock that's ten feet away

  • @TheSolMan211 I'm NOT safe. I'm dangerous. And don't you forget it. LOL!

  • Wow that sounds awesome :)

  • Love the video! But a Hard Core guy like you drive a fake Honda copy of an Avalanche

  • ODST, anyone?

  • I like the Ambi control on the pistol :)

  • 1.00 reminds me of goldeneye on n64

  • Why does the barrel of that pistol seem to crook upward slightly? Like it's off alignment from the rest of the weapon...

  • @NostalgicLink

    youtube.com/watch?v=-e_3Ihpq9T4

even tho its a glock it should answer your question.

  • well, i kinda screwed the link up, sorry for that

anywoo, just look for "glock function animation" on youtube

  • @lintna Oh wow, thanks for the clarification. That's ingenious!

  • @NostalgicLink It has a tilting barrel type locking mechanism. When the gun is ready to fire, with (or without) a cartridge in the chamber, the barrel is in the lowered position and all properly aligned. It has some kind of cutout and lug or some similar, and they lock together making the pistol safe to fire. Then it unlocks and ejects the empty cartridge. The barrel tipping up like that also can help reliability in feeding as it slopes nicely up away from the magazine.

  • I didn't read all of the comments, but as someone who has sold Class3 weapons for a while, I figured this was worth mentioning....

The PRIMARY REASON it is so quiet with the suppressor is because it is firing the .45ACP cartridge, a "slow" round going from 800 to 1000fps (hot loads can hit maybe 1200; any faster and you are hitting pressure limits). Point is, it is below the speed of sound. Suppressors work significantly better on such weapons bc there is no sonic crack. 9mm would be louder.

  • silencers are so bad ass, wish i didnt live in liberal Maryland :(

  • @jasongtivr6 liberals are only liberal with shit they like' are money.

  • nice honda psst shoot yourself next time please

  • I have a question was the sound that we was hearing with the silencer on was that the weapon itself or was that the bullet hitting the rock?

  • cool gun gay truck

  • HAHA! So that is actually how it sounds! AWESOME! xD

  • ส็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็ส็็็ส็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็ส็็็ส็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็ส็็็

  • Heu, SNO!!.. im thinking about getting a glock 21 for my 21st birthday in july.. the reason is i want something bigger than a 9mm and a glock seems like a good gun. what do u think?

  • @SEATTLEBOI253 I love the Glock 21SF! Check out watch?v=_Xt_fLEi414

  • @SEATTLEBOI253 I can't wait till i turn 21 but have you looked at the glock 30 thats also 45 or the glock 20 which is 10mm but they make barrels for it in multiple different calibers but between the regular and the slim frame there is barely a difference but yes glock will obviously be my first handgun ive never had a problem shooting my fathers and ive shot 2000 plus rounds through each without a problem. hope this is helpful

  • @SEATTLEBOI253 Hey SEATTLE! how about you shut up, IDIOT.

  • @SEATTLEBOI253 .45 ACP is expensive but good choice.

  • @SEATTLEBOI253 just remember your grip will be different because its a larger bullet in the mag well.

  • yea thats prolly the dumbest shooting test ive ever heard of, but it was very informative. ballsy shoot!

  • why the fuck are using the word suppressor. there is a difference between a suppressor and a silencer.

  • THATS THE NUTS

  • Cool...! The bullet hits the target first before the sound...

  • Highly experienced my ass.

  • My name is one eye Jack , and ize loves shootin rocks. They are old and dusty !

Just like yo mommas twat !

  • i loved the vid, without the silencer you hear "POOF POOOF POOOF!" and with the silencer you hear "puk puk puk..."

    sounds like an awesome silencer.

  • I don't trust him, he drives a Honda truck!!!!.

  • This video is also a good example of light travelling faster then sound =)

  • That is so cool, when it's suppressed you here every ricochet.

  • @WolfenFoust I know, isn't that cool?? If I hadn't risked my life by shooting a poor harmless rock, you wouldn't be able to enjoy such awesome shooting. :-))

  • The skilled proffesional shooting a rock wtf

  • @TheInfotwins Of course you don't want to shoot a rock unless you know what you're doing. But he obviously does. You're just a jealous, silly little boy.

  • I love the noise it makes

  • I was not aware of the gas blowback when using a suppressor. Good information to know. Does the blowback burn or sting your hands?

  • @gtrwarriordon Not your hands, but with a rifle the fumes burn your nose and eyes. With the pistol there's not as much gas, so it's not bad.

  • @SNOmultimedia When I was in the Army, I was privileged enough to be part of some pretty high speed units. I used the MP5-SD quite a few times. No one warned me about the gas blowback. It was pretty surprising the first time.

  • @1fsfowrm Yeh, that can choke you out. Thanks for watching, and thanks for your service!

  • thats a nice gun

  • THIS IS FRONTLINE SURVIVAL!!!

  • ya i was doing some target shooting at the distance once aiming down and an auto reset target anyways i hit a large rock and the copper jacket from the bullet actualy came back and nailed me in the forehead above my left eye wasnt hard enough to cut or anything but if it hits ya in the eyeball it doesnt have to be very strong to ruin yer day

  • @Auszug21 That's why eye protection is a must!

  • @SNOmultimedia Eh, doesn't always work. My mom (of all people) caught a shell in her glasses while shooting and it left a nice little burn mark on her cheek for a few days.

  • man....i thought you were shooting a .22 revolver for a moment..

  • Cool, I can only hear the impact on the rock and the ricocheing bullets.

You should have shot a couple times in the dirt, so we can get a glimpse of what the gun+silencer sounds, if one could hear it at that distance at all.

  • wow...thats one hell of a pistol

  • Now this is exactly the kind of footage I want to see! What does a silencer really do at distance?

  • If you're so skillful with firearms, then why the heck are you shooting a rock?

  • @TheReykyavik I love shooting rocks. I practice point-shooting, and they make a great target because with the puff of dust you can really see where the hit lands. You shouldn't do it, though.

  • @SNOmultimedia You could get some cheap gongs. They ring and show the impact.

  • @SNOmultimedia you're just saying that so we dont shoot up all of your fun rocks ;)

  • Great video. Thanks for sharing!

  • Pretty good video except for one thing.. A honda truck? wtf

And you should of shot in the woods so we could hear the report of the gun and not the rock.

  • @TheBobafett13 Thanks, LOL, you should see my *other* truck! Go to the Survival News Online blog and search "bugout vehicle." Also, you can get a glimpse of it at watch?v=na2YSnvCIXo

  • @SNOmultimedia @SNOmultimedia Honestly, I would be driving a Honda Ridgeline right now if they had kept their promise of a Turbo Diesel DOHC V6! I guess you really can't trust a group of people that fantasize about squids screwing schoolgirls! ;)

  • how can i get this silencer???whats the website

  • @GATILLO2010 Silencerco. But you'll have to buy it through your friendly neighborhood Class III dealer.

  • dawm rocks i hate them too :D

  • who shoots at rocks?

  • @TheNopedawg Shooting at rocks can be very dangerous; ricochets can travel far downrange. Having shot at rocks for more than 30 years, I know how they behave, but it's not recommended practice, LOL!

  • @SNOmultimedia Have you seen the guy who almost died getting scratched by a .50 ricochet? Well he didn't shoot at rocks but iron instead i think, bit dangerous but hey! you only live once :P

  • @madman2u No, haven't seen that. Was he the shooter, or someone downrange?

  • @SNOmultimedia The shooter. watch?v=0ABGIJwiGBc

  • @TheNopedawg People who hate rocks.

  • @timjitsu714 .45 ACP is a subsonic round. Only way to get it more silent is to gel or wet the suppressor

  • @SouthernSkill Right! As we demonstrated in this vid: W-f656NUWVQ FNP 45 Tactical with Osprey Silencer

  • Thats actually pretty effective at distance, most of the sound from the "silenced" shots is from the impact of the bullet.

  • HEY SOMEBODY CAN TELL ME WHERE I CAN BUY THIS GUN PLEASE SEND ME A EMAIL PLEASEEEE

  • @xxxtulokilloxxx at a gun shop

  • Tacticool much?

  • you should try different caliber guns like this... mainly a .22 suppressed lol. maybe start out a 100 yds then move to 200yds then finish with 300 yds.... also for good measure, if you could aquire them, throw in microphones that measure the decibels

  • Thanks for the great video.

  • Idk I guess Hollywood destroyed my logical perspective when it comes to using stealth to kill someone...I mean you can still hear the suppressed shots pretty well lol

  • @homergibson88 Haha, yes, there's nothing really silent about a "silencer."

  • @SNOmultimedia That's why there is no such thing as a "silencer" for any firearm. "Silencers" don't exist. To reduce the noise, you can get a suppressor.

  • @homergibson88 i think youre hearing more of the round hitting the rock than the gunshot. and also the bullet creates a sonic boom. so a good suppressor + sub-sonic ammunition, and the only thing you will hear is the racking of the slide.

  • Good too have a silencer when the zombie apocalypse happens.

  • Who does your video editing and affects? Give them a high five from me.

  • @enticed2zeitgeist We handle that in house, got a good team. Thanks, I'll let them know you like it!

  • You can hear the rounds ricocheting all over the place..

  • @cpu64 I know, isn't that cool?!

  • hollow sight on pistol=overkill

  • wow.. finally a video of great comparison

  • holy crap..... Mom i wanted This for X-MAS

  • What a sweet baby. That supressor looks so nice !

  • Probably the best way I have seen anyone show why silencers are so great. Wish there wasn't the B.S. $200 fed. tax on them though. How is the ATF allowed to tax people again?

  • Have you tried "White Lithium" grease instead of water..? It lasts longer than water and will not make such a mess. when shooting your can "wet". I enjoy your Vids. Just thought I'd pass that along. It makes clean up much easier.

  • @chainmaker1 It's a good option, but I find it's not as effective -- water has a much higher specific heat, and abates a lot more energy than oil or grease. I find it's barely worth the trouble to load the silencer unless I use water. But I have friends who prefer it.

  • hi i would like to buy this gun how much is cost ?????

  • @xxxtulokilloxxx Watch this video for more details about the gun: W-f656NUWVQ

  • @ tulokillo they're about 1000 dollars, i bought mine on gunbroker for 950

  • very quite. nice video. you should shoot that crappy truck with it now.

  • that was amazing. obviously not silent but quiet enough that the average person probably wouldn't know it was a gunshot. you should should that crappy truck with it.

  • @yz9890 LOL, you should see my **other** truck

  • now that is just too fucking cool. that was the first time i was able to really get an idea of how much the silencer quiets it down.

  • Very nice. Hussssssssssshhh

  • The suppresors echo sounds like ricochet

  • @vonh101 thats cause hes shooting a rock

  • Great Video! Finally someone who knows what they are talking about and is interesting!!! keep them coming! I am in the market for a suppressor and have been looking at the osprey for a Glock 17. I think that this is the only gun that the this suppressor blocks the factory sights on. i would like a holographic sight like in this video. How is that mounted on the gun and what do u recommend? thanks!

  • @nfranz01 Thanks for watching! A lot of people are mounting Trijicon RMRs to Glocks, but you have to mill the slide to receive it. It's not a big deal. Take it to your friendly neighborhood gunsmith with your RMR in hand, and you can get it done pronto. Some other mini red dots will work too -- just call your smithy first to be sure.

  • This is the best suppressor test vid ever. Real world sound test. I am waiting on tax stamp for Osprey 9mm.

  • @MrM2hb I just bought a .45. I'm going to setup a trust this time though. My last class 3 took 4 months to get a signature from the sheriff. That's bullshit so I'm going to skip the middle man

  • @zeinnaja I set up a gun trust. the only way to go. You can do it through an Attorney for 2000 and up or through legal zoom for about 250. I am waiting on 4 tax stamps right now.

  • Awesome video! I have just 3 questions for you :-p first is that the Seattle hat from OR? (it looks awesome btw) second how is the holographic sight attached & third would you be able to make a video like this using an AR?

  • @aodhanof90 It's a great hat, incredibly comfortable. I don't remember the model, but it is from OR. To attach the holo you just insert a mounting plate and mount the trijicon. I love the AR idea -- thanks for the suggestion.

  • I think most of the sound we hear with the weapon suppressed is from the ricochets. Shooting at a softer target would prevent that and give a more accurate depiction of the sound signature.

  • pidoing?

  • I have a fnp 45 it's big so i still carry my springfield champ operator i guess the fnp will be my go home and get gun on "that" day lol

  • An excellent comparison that illustrates the value of the Osprey, although the rock probably isn't the best target.

  • When testing the amount of suppression at a distance and in the low ground, as you have, consider not hitting a rock or solid surface. The acoustics of the rock masked the actual suppression.

  • best suppressor video, doesn't show close up where no one can tell the change in sound.

  • DUDE, a honda pickup truck!!!!!! Sell out!!!!!!

  • Are those Serengeti sunglasses?

  • @Pivcuguivutra No, $5 cheapos from Wal-Mart. I'm always losing them, so I buy these.

  • I have two comments on your video

One is that if you do not skutit in Senen Otanes the embankment so hadde you have not had as much noise.

Two is that if you barges into a stone upward angle as you did then you have no control at all on where the balls land.

Is really not a safe way at all to fier,

  • @zibbe1000 There are additional considerations, however:

First, you must understand that ol gisy snueli my never card a simple grip target.

Second, the background of the target area wqhtbnd in contrast to femat do cutrel.

I hope this addresses your concerns. :-D

  • sick ridgeline bro.......

  • I have the se gun. Its great. What suppressor Are you using and how much did it cost.

  • @tony48910 It's the Silencerco Osprey, $700 iirc.

  • I would love to see a desert eagle *hint hint.

  • WOW

  • hello SNO,

what sights are on that gun?

who makes the high fixed night sights and the hollow sight?

never saw such high heel fixed sights...

  • @pudaoida The FN factory sights for the FNP Tactical are designed to be able to sight over a suppressor. Most suppressors are affixed concentrically with the barrel, which means it would block iron sights mounted any lower. The Osprey is mounted eccentrically, though, so it would actually work with regular sights.

  • wish you would have use subsonics....crap :(

  • @skittlekiller Most .45ACP rounds already come in subsonic.

  • This is AWESOME. I have always wanted to see a comparison like this.

  • Awsome! How come i've never seen anyone test a surpressor like this?

  • why would you shoot at something like a rock that has a loud report? we need to hear the report by itself so we know how it sounds with no other noise.

  • @YOWHATTHEHELLUP71 That's a good question. The impact and bullet whirs give you a reference volume to compare the crack of the shot. When we shot this into the dirt, you couldn't tell just how quiet the suppression was. But if you're interested in hearing it, we do have this in another video -- the FNP 45 Tactical with Osprey Silencer (link is above in the Video Responses section).

  • @SNOmultimedia Thanks. There was a distinct, but very brief moment between the suppressed report and the sound of the impact. Maybe try one with steel and at a greater distance. I'll try to remember to do one with the FA556AR in a similar fashion. Maybe even leave a camera downrange if I have the guts.

  • @YOWHATTHEHELLUP71

    so true.

  • @YOWHATTHEHELLUP71 The impacts give you a reference by which to gauge the loudness of the gunshot, but if you'd like to hear the silencer without the sound of the impacts, watch our original video here: W-f656NUWVQ&NR=1

  • have a GREAT day!,,.. hey thanks C:

  • Thanks for posting this video! Very cool
