I might be biased, I grew up on the English version of DBZ. But I know from all the years I re-watched the series, I found that the only things that Dubber's made was changing scenes to appeal to the Western world. Like many say Translations are an art, not a science, which is why it would be hard to catch the spirit of Dragon Ball or DBZ fully.

man without the music its way less dramatic.. The music made the series, everyone and ever amazing part had its own music that still sends goosebumbs and chills down my spine. The remastered version without the music just sucks. Just imagine Vegeta's Final Flash without music or Goku turning SSJ for the first time.. without the music its just words and anime but with the music its just simply AMAZING!

You again.. why is it always you? I can never fathom why whenever I post a comment regarding the fact that Bruce Faulconer's music sucks, it's always you who attempts to bash the real orchestrated music of DBZ and Kai in the most stupid way possible.

Many fans are 13 year old morons. That is my answer to that statement, and usually the common American DBZ fan only watches it for the "kewl fight scenes" They could care less if it captures the true spirit of the show or not.

@OmegaCalibur Comeon....you know damn well that's the appeal of the show. The show isn't a show where the plot is necessary to enjoy the show, it's the fight scenes. That's all the show really is, they do character development extremely well. Gohan's and Goku's transformations were the best I've seen in an anime/manga. But this show isn't meant to do anything, it isn't meant to make you think, it was made for good to fight evil..nothing more nothing less...

There's a lot more subtleties you can't see. Dragon Ball has a spirit that goes beyond that. It's hard to explain, but if you watch the original Dragon Ball there's something in there that makes the appeal far greater than simply the fight scenes and the battle between good and evil. Although you might say DBZ doesn't carry on that spirit, but it does, just not at that calibur. The only reason you don't notice it is because of how badly FUNimation dubbed it.

Take for example the comedy of Dragon Ball. FUNimation never got the fun of these things when dubbing them. I agree with Mistarefusion when he mentioned one of the episode previews that aired in japan, where Goku in his own unique way had to explain to Gohan what hell is like. He said, "Well, there's a red ogre and a blue ogre, and we play tag every day!" It cracked me up. FUNimation could never catch the true spirit of Dragon Ball in all their years of dubbing, it's disappointing.

But I do agree with you to a point but I've seen all the DBZ material and MOST of DB in all Dubs and I hope with good subs. I did notice many changes they made because of the culture differences, but I always admired Funimation and Ocean Dub for their fantastic true to the origonal translations. Since I don't speak Japanes I can't say that they're perfect, but at the end of the day I get the same from the plot.
