  • Love anton as chekov ! he's the best!!

  • Load of crap, kids not wortly to lick Walter Koenigs boots.

  • sexii

  • his voice is so cute. he sounds like a little kid :) but hes still so sexy

  • He's so sexy

  • I love him so much. <3

  • he is really Russian born in St Petersburg or Lenigrad, he is brill as Pavel Chekov in ST also great in Alpha Dog

  • He looks like a young Philip Petite

  • He was sooo sexy in fright night!!!

  • what a baby

  • I saw this guy in the mall last week. I didn't realize who he was until now lol

  • Can't wait for the sequel!

2012... So, the sequel comes out in 2012, so does that mean the cast is going to be at Comic-Con international 2012 in San Diego?

Another reason for me to go :)

  • what a fucking lousy casting job, but I guess it suited the bullshit movie. Why not call it space wars? and come up with your own stuff then butchering something great.

  • @Danielboulder1

well that's one way to put it.

I thought it was a great movie as a movie.

I don't give a shit about Star Trek, so it didn't bother ME.

    So I guess... .fuck you.

  • @Danielboulder1 Okay, 1.) Just because you don't agree with something, doesn't mean the fans want to hear you bitch about it. 2.) You don't like it? Don't watch it.

  • I think they overdid the accent thing. I am Russian and I don't talk like the Chehov character in Star Trek. Neither do any of my other Russian friends who live in America...

  • @NickKhivren They intentionally overdid his accent, because they wanted to make it more like the original Star Trek.

  • Say Nuclear Wessels!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

  • Future husband right here.

  • his accent is adorable adorable adorable!!

    live long and prosper \\//

  • he was my favourite.

  • Actually all the actors did well at their parts, but I was disapointed in the girl who did Uhura, and you didn't see Nurse Chapel much either. I thought Bones and Chekov were well done, but the best was Scotty, the actor was so cool in playing him. The Spock/Uhura romance thing was a bit too wierd and unnecessary and didn't fit the film.

  • @pspboy7 I liked the Uhura and Spock romance. It was true to the original plot although they never really explored it in the original series.

  • @Soixante366 Spock and Uhura NEVER had a romance in the original series. Nurse Chapel had a crush on Spock, actually. Uhura and Spock were friends, nothing more. Uhura dated SCOTTY.

  • @ellaelise Uhura was attracted to Spock in The Man Trap. You may recall Uhura asking Spock how Vulcan looked when its moon was full. Spock replied that Vulcan has no moon.

  • @ellaelise Who cares? This is a reboot.

  • to adorable :D

  • haha love Chekov's accent in the movie and his character is also very funny, they got the right man for the job!

    Live long and Prosper! VV

  • You mean the spirit of adorability? Well, success!

  • AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW<3

  • ahhh what a cute guy, in my opinion he did a pretty good Chekov in the film :)

  • I fucking hate how all the actors are getting so famous off of it, yet they have never seen the show. He is cute though.

  • @28stads : I think what J.J was trying appeal to people who liked the show, but also bring new fans into the Star Trek fandom. He had a lot of people on the project that were die hard fans, but there were also people who hadn't watched the show until they got their parts. It's a good balance, and it worked in the movie. I quite enjoyed it.

  • @aangelangel189 Even though there were many things that I hated about the movie, I did still enjoy it :-)

  • @28stads Except Karl Urban..apparently he's been a Trekkie since he was a kid

  • seriously, like if you saw Leonard's GUMBY PIN. :D

  • He really is Russian.

  • I love him! He's like a puppy! An extremely cute, hot puppy.... Can I marry him?

  • he's a better michael cera.

  • He is sooooooo cute!

  • is that a... gumbi... pin...? D8

  • Aw damn I thought that was his actual accent since he has a weird name :(

  • @strawberrysweet09 That's because he is from the Soviet Union. Anton Yelchin is a perfectly normal name in Russia :)

  • @karadan100 Ah sorry didnt mean weird meant foreign :) But since he is from there then why doesnt he have the cool accent he had in the movie :(

  • @strawberrysweet09 Because he was raised in the US, so adopted an American accent. His parents still have Russian accents and because they raised him to speak fluent Russian, can adopt the russian accent as well.

  • @karadan100 Does he actually adopt the Russian accent, I'm not that sure, he just adopts the accent we expect him to have... The "v" sound at the end of Chekov should actually be pronounced like an "f" in Russian and he seems to pronounced it like "v" which is how we expect him to pronounce it...

  • @MarbledPaladin Well, he's certainly putting it on. He usually has an American accent. I guess it isn't hard for him to do a thick Russian accent seeing as he can speak fluent Russian.

  • fuck this! i miss the old chekov.... but he literally. got. old. :( ;(

  • @TheILoveSun

Здрасте. Как так нет, если его именно за " русскость" английской речи и взяли.

  • Господа русские, а ведь наш акцент очень мило звучит со стороны:]

  • Антошка молодец:]]]]Antoshka <3

  • i am officially in love with him....he is the BEST

  • him and i are the same age.

  • Shit I thought that accent was real :O

  • Русский паренёк , молодец.

    Дай им там жару ;)

  • i can do tha i can do tha i can do that

  • He's the best :D I'd love to meet him!

  • Wictor Wictor

  • @MIDNAq1LINK lol

  • 0oh...my...god....HE FAKES AN ACCENT SO WELL!!! I THOUGHT HE REALLY WAS FROM RUSSIA!

  • @AnimalQuackerz He IS Russian! He was born in present day St. Petersburg. And then him and his family emigrated when he was six months old. His accent was REALLY acurate in the movie. Probably because his parents probably speak heavily accented English.

  • Chekov's my favourite!

  • I fucking love Anton.

  • Excellent interview, he is a incredible actor and was great in star trek.

  • Ensign authorization code nine-five-wictor-wictor-two. Access code denied. OH FUCK THIS SHIT D:< *Stab* dude...

  • How much I loved this enterwiew?! Words just can't describe it..

Mostly because both Maltin and Yelchin speak with such clarity and easyness that I was able to understand everything they were saying (when english is not the mother language it could be a very BIG problem...) Thank you for sharing this pill of awesomess

  • What a pleasant interview, I really wish more actors were able to discuss openly without being rudely interrupted with inane and idiotic lines of questioning.

  • loved him in star trek. love him period!

  • like viewing the full version regarding this kind of film at mimb o .net remove space

  • fright night 2011 trailer on my channel

  • "...come at you with burning spears." Uh...?

  • @julielaughs14 What you didn't get that? It refers to the villagers comming after Frankenstien to kill him. The oldest lynch mob scene. Meaning Trekkies would hate him and want to kill. The image ought to be self explanitory. What would you expect ppl comming at you to do with burning spears? Light a birthday cake? LOL

  • @Miracle490d No, no, I mean, I totally get the implications and all, but I'd think an angry mob of villagers would carry either spears OR torches, not combine them into spears set on fire. He said "burning spears." Who burns spears? Spears without fire should be deadly enough!

  • @julielaughs14 OK I see you're right h said spears. What he should've said was burning torches and spears; which is more common. They even used them in Shrek. I was thinking only torches, but I think I recall the sharp sticks pointing up as well as fire. They'd use one or the other at a time to kill. Burning spears wouldn't make sense because the point would burn and fire would travel down the handle. Stupid ppl would burn themselves up. LOL

  • @Miracle490d True, very true. :)

  • When Chekov ( Anton ) warps Kirk and Sulu back onto the ship before they crashed smashed onto the grounds of the Vulcan planet ,

    He said something , " yamaiyo " or " damaiyo " or something .

    What does that mean ?

  • @jineu989 That how we say in Russia:"Oh God!"

  • New Chekov reminds me of the annoying Wesley Crusher, I am only 19 but prefer Walter Koenigs Chekov in every way, he was so cool!, and a nicer person. :)

    Sophia @ Vassar College

  • @DavidHenesy I haven't seen the new version cuz the whole plot sounds sucky. If they wanted to do a mirror mirror universe why weren't they upfront instead of playing head games? Then you wouldn't expect Chekov to be nice. Mirror Chekov tried to kill Kirk to go up in rank. You would expect a younger Chekov to have some growning to do, maybe have influences around that shape the adult, but he should still havethe same niceness. Certain things don't change with age.

  • @DavidHenesy I actually liked Wesley, but Chekov shouldn't be the same. He was far from genious; always messing up facts about russian inventions. Walter's Chekov reminds me of Cliff Claven on Cheers; Constantly talking like he's a know it all, when he's not. Was young Chekov such a boaster?

  • @Miracle490d I am sorry I am only thinking of Chekov from the movies or the last year of the original series, he became a more fleshed out character, I just prefer Bester, I mean Walter Keonig! :)

  • The older Star Trek was Sci- Fi.

the new one is Sci - Fantasy

  • AH he's so adorable and gorgeous. Seriously dude. Adorable. Holy crap. Jizz in my pants dude. <33

  • "There's this russian kid on the enterprise" -JJ

    RETARDNESS TO ITS MAX

  • he's way cuter with a german accent

  • @ringojohnpaulgeorgee russian you complete idiot

  • @SomthingNew0 hahahhahahaha. that's what i meant. sorry!

  • I hearted him in criminal minds episode.

  • So innocent. Must Corrupt!!!!

  • Has anyone else noticed that Leonard Maltin was wearing a Gumby pin on his lapel?

  • Oh.... My.... God. He is just the cutest little thing, I just wanna hug him forever. He's so fluffy!

  • @bellybuttonlint6225 if he was not famous, you would call him creepy or some other bullshit

  • @bellybuttonlint6225 Leonard Maltin?

  • @biscayne63 isnt maltin dreamy,lmao

  • @bellybuttonlint6225 is he hiding a shit load of hair somewhere?? hes pale skin and bones

  • He is so hot, lol he reminds me of my bf. I loved him ever since Alphadog. :)

  • Looks like 10 people were fantasising and missed the like button......

  • Burning spears? Hell yeah! Every Trekkie has a closet full of those!

  • JEEZ he's so adorable

  • I want him...he's so cute~ <3

  • he's sweet

  • I LOVE YOUUUUUUUUUUUUU ANTONNNNNNNNNNNN

  • EEEKKKK!!!! He is sooooooo adorable!

  • Dude, the pressure of playing a Trek character now. . . I'd break. Ehehe. Burning spears :))

  • I love it man.

  • last night me and my Mum were watching Trek and at a bit with Chekov she said

"he does have a cute smile doesnt he? heh.. little frog.."

i was like "yeah.. wait.. frog?" and then we lol'd. Whenever i have a crush on a celeb my Mum tends to compliment and insult them in one sentance. xD

  • @Simpuramafampark FROG? is THAT a INSULT??!!!!!!!??? >:O

  • @sebringf1 i think my Mum thinks so... i dunno xD

  • how the hell did he fake that accent!!?!!!?!?!!!

  • @MoonarEclipse he was born in the soviet union but moved to america the same year he was born

  • @REVERENDJOSHGODDERS

he was born a russian but can't have a russian accent?

  • @MoonarEclipse you usually gain your accent based on what language you first learn, where you learn it and who you are with and with anton it happens to be american even though hes russian

  • Wow! Maybe it's just me, but I think he looks like a young Tom Everett Scott. :-) I noticed that during "Charlie Bartlett", but it's really evident in this interview. :-D

  • perfect role foe Harry osborn in reboot spider man who agrees

  • DUDE!! GUMMBY PIN!!!!

  • My goodness... His voice is adorable.

  • dude, he's doing the voice for Clumsy Smurf in the new 2011 smurf film! I cant wait! lol!

  • dude man... this guy is totally thee perfect dork... sooo fucking cool... best possible chekov humanly possible...

  • Definetely will be one of the best actors of his generation

  • Best character in the new Star Trek movie.

  • Burning spears? Oh, nonono, it's pitchforks and torches. Everyone knows this!

But he doesn't have the accent!

  • SWOON. He's so adorable.

  • SWOON. He's adorable!

  • charlie bartlett (L)

  • his cousin is my best friend!

  • @roosterkauf I'm so jealous!

  • No wonder Charlie Bartlett didn't get the hype it deserved! No one ever got around to really talking about it!!!

  • He'd be great in the new Spiderman :)

  • He was great in Star Trek! He was really good in Charlie Bartlett too.

  • that interveiwer looks like my uncle ;|

  • love this kid,he's great!

  • haha he's 17 in the movie & 21 in real life (:

  • he is very well spoken. and i'm glad his interviewer lets him talk without interrupting. thats very respectful. they are both respectful towards each other throughout this interview.

he seems really smart and sweet.

  • He seems like a really smart kid!!

  • Well spoken Anton.

  • I was pretty frickin sure that accent was legit!!! WOW!!! HE'S AMAZING!!!But I guess the fact that he's legitimately Russian makes it a little easier for him to get the accent.

  • Well this kid pulled off Chekov. this whole movie rocked!

  • Whoow...he,s a kid in real life.Maybe just a teenager in the movie?

  • i love him! hes just awesome.....

  • Ensign authorization code nine-five-wictor-wictor-two. Acces code denied. *sigh*. Ensign Authorization Code nine-five-vwictor-vwictor-two. Code Accepted

  • Que lindo es ANTON YELCHIN .

  • Aw, he's a sweetie. ^_^

  • ;) anton is adorable. ;)

  • goodness he's adorable:D i noticed him first in Star Trek actually. totally adorable. me and my sis were both swooning over him

  • @007tigereyes007 LOL! I noticed him in Terminator Salvation. :3 One of my favorite movies. ♥

  • Anton should be the new Peter Parker. Anyone agree?

  • I remember an interview where Zachary Quinto called Anton superhuman. It's totally a sign he should be Peter Parker. :)

  • i can see him as spidey

  • @deadpooldotedu Hmmm...not sure...he,s very innocent looking,in the physical and the essence of his manner.Peter parker needs to be ...well...manly and serious....dont you think?

  • @deadpooldotedu No more Spider Man movies!! I've had enough!

  • Agree!

  • @deadpooldotedu Yes! Please!!

  • @deadpooldotedu

you have got to be kidding me? He can't play the act. forget it.

  • @deadpooldotedu as long as it's not Robert Pattinson i'm good

  • @deadpooldotedu i agree!!! i think no one can beat tobey mcguire and kirsten dunst in the original cast. so i am very picky over who replaces them! anton is one of my favs, so yeah!!!

  • @deadpooldotedu He would make a cute Peter, but the guy they have now is not too old to continue. I hate how they kept changing Batmans. Keaton was a bust, but the guy with Robin and Jim Carrey was perfect. But I don't think he came back for Shwartznegger's. And then they did Batman begins. The movies may all be good, but they lack consistancy and don't let you become attached to a character. Peter wasn't russian, but I don't really hear an accent.

  • Leonard Maltin is wearing a Gumby botton...

  • Wow, you're right... how weird.

  • omg im so disappointed - i actually thought he was russian!

  • he is

    just doesn't have STRONG accent

Yelchin is either german or russian

he was born in st. peterburg soviet :)
