  • does bootcamp come as standard on all new macs? or do u have to buy it seperatly?

  • Boot Camp comes as standard with all new Macs. You will need to buy a full retail copy of Windows, however.

  • wow i need help, i try to open boot camp assistant and it says it won't work on Os X 1.5 so does this mean I need to upgrade to leopard in order to use bootcamp?!?

any help would be much appreciated.

  • The Boot Camp Beta shown in this video which worked on Tiger is no longer available and unfortunately you must upgrade to Leopard (or, preferably, Snow Leopard) to use Boot Camp.

Frankly, you should upgrade to Leopard or Snow Leopard anyway now as Tiger is out of security update support.

  • thank you very much

  • You must update your Macintosh to the latest version.

  • Ok first off this is a very helpful video but I can't get past this Disk partitioning part...it tells me to use Disk utilities to repair the disk...I didn't even have a disk in...can you help me out please?

  • Do you HAVE to install xp Sp2 , or could it just be original windows xp?

  • No it has to be SP2.

  • it doesnt matter witch sp you have just as long as you have a mac and the full version of xp or vista. i hope this tip helped. by the way i do not know why i said as long as you have a mac you problay have a mac but who knows only you.

  • Hey Dude that was TIGHT...(cool) Ive install it Thanx...is it possible to go further with a third, for instance vista. If so can you please do a video demo for installation... THANX HEAPS DUDE!

  • nice vid :)

  • Thanks. This is a great video

  • Great Video! - Thanks for uploading.

  • lol @ the windows installer menu, i wish it where actually that fast and joyous. lol

  • how do u know if u run a intel mac?

  • Apple menu > About this Mac.

Under Processor it will be 'Intel' or 'PowerPC'.

But basically, the new Mac minis and iMacs are Intel and all MacBook (normal and Pro) and Mac Pro models are also Intel.

  • click about this mac in the apple menu if it says intel then its intel if it says power pc it won't work

  • Dan you're the man!

  • on the video he says sytem 10.4.6 isn't that Mac OS X leopard and Mac OS X tiger is 10.4.5

  • As far as I know, Mac OS X 10.5.0 and later will be Leopard.

Anything starting with 10.4 will be Tiger. The upgrades to Tiger are free, but upgrading to 10.5 will be the full Mac OS X price.

  • 1 more thing... can the windows in bootcamp get a virus?

  • Yes, it's just like running Windows on a generic PC. There's even a chance that while running Windows a particularly nasty piece of malware could potentially destroy Mac OS X as well (if it wipes the whole HDD).

  • "There's even a chance that while running Windows a particularly nasty piece of malware could potentially destroy Mac OS X as well (if it wipes the whole HDD)."

Virtualisation is much safer in that regard. :)

Apple and Windows Living in perfect harmony.

  • Thanks, but I can't actually take the credit for this video, it's courtesy of the guys at UNEASYsilence (www.uneasysilence.com). They did have it on YouTube, but it got pulled, so I downloaded the original and uploaded it here.

Now all we need is Boot Camp to support triple-booting with Linux as well.

  • that object bar is so fat and ugly.

  • To be fair, I think the guy who did this tutorial (www.uneasysilence.com) was running at a low resolution for the purposes of recording the video.

  • Don't you mean the dock menu
