  • what song is this?

  • powered by SUNPOWER

  • so any one know how its storing its power?

  • They should put a cup on that prop to have less drag.

    Nice boat!

  • *in the middle of the sea*

    *Starts to rain*

driver : shit no solar energy!

  • @Tayjinglai No disrespect, did you even watch the video. "the boat can travel for three days and nights before needing to be recharged"

  • Why would a solar powered boat need to be recharged???

  • @FantasticBob7000 recharged by the sun, you got to realize the sun doesn't shine 24/7.

  • wow great boat, respect :)

  • what if its a cloudy week? :O i dnt wanna be on that boat then

  • @687990 What if you run out of diesel in the middle of the Pacific? Same thing happens. Except, in a solar boat, all you have to do is wait for the sun, and you can keep going. In a diesel ship, you have to wait for a refueler boat.

  • @robertghouston They mean to say that it could be sunny for one day and then that would charge the panels, then it could be pitch black for three days and the vessel will still be able to move. But being it will be in the sun most of the time while circumnavigating the globe, it will be recharging every second due to the sun. So they don't even need to worry about recharging.

  • Awesome and Geat solar boat. Congratulation !

  • Instead of a very green method of travel by attaching an easily produced sail, they went ahead and made solar panels in a factory at a very high cost, also causing pollution. This just does not make any sense to me, I could understand a sail boat that had an auxilary solar powered motor for the doldroms at the equator or while in a marina.

Next I want to see a solar powered horse. Yes that is right I want you to attach solar panels to a horse and carriage.

  • @joelito84 It's hard to use a sail boat but a solar boat would only require you hit the gas. Puls solar can be faster.

  • put a big sail on it when it's windy and you will double the speed.

  • This will be popular when the ground gets too populated and the ice melts from the polution.

You can live in it,move it,go fishing and boil the water to make it good for drinking ;D

But there'll probably be invented some kind of a renewing filter by then.

  • TELL ME YOUR SONG DAMMIT DAIGONAL UK

    your website TELLS ME NOTHING!

vote this UP if you agree they need to LIST TRACKS!

  • They should make a boat that uses water as fuel xD

  • They biggest solar boat of the world was France (1911).

old style: Sun --> Wind -->sailing-ship

    new style:Sun --> Si --> transform electronic --> Voltage --> Battery --> control electronic --> E-Motor

    Both solar boats

  • fuckim tree huggers and their ugly machines

  • The music on these videos are always awesome.

  • Its HUGE :|

  • solar power is a great alt source of energy, but the amount of horsepower solar panels produce isn't much -- thats why solar cars wont be a hit anytime soon. this is a good start tho.

  • If solar energy could be captured with 100% efficiency (photovoltaic) then it would be feasible to have solar powered cars. The roof area of a van could provide 4 or 5 kilowatts of power which would be enough for city cruising on flat ground (with batteries for acceleration).

  • Oh come on, a boat like that needs a big diesel engine so you can sit on the top and sunbathe.

  • I thought it would have had solar sails :(

  • I love the line: " It can reach speeds up to 15 mph." - Wow, hold onto your hats!

  • You can't change the world in one day. (the progress) We must take steps at a time! Any advance is a great occasion! We might think they don't know what they're doing, but CLEARLY they've researched the HELL out of this. I'm excited to see the results!

  • kinda remindes me of Startrek

  • any idea what the music is?

  • Wonder what happens when a wave rolls right over? I am guessing they will find out if they are crossing the Atlantic.

  • I think he meant that it will go three days on a fully charged battery. (like when it rains for three days) Then you bob around until the sun shines.

  • wat if it rains?

  • batteries :)

  • recharged? shouldn't it be charged during daylight?

  • Technically any sailboat is solar powered too lol

  • @christopherawesome

what the hell are you talking about? sailboats are powered by wind.

  • @Montymio and what powers the wind, hmm? :P

  • @Montymio And what is the major motor of the wind only the sun.

  • @christopherawesome Wind powered dude.....

  • @NoahJacobsPiano yes, and the wind is powered by....?

  • @NoahJacobsPiano wind comes from warm and cold air, warm air comes from sun, so sun causes the wind :/

  • I would buy that, but i feel i would be a target for pirates

  • Hurray, some rich guys wanted to promote their company with a record breaking (super slow) boat, yaaaahhh rich people..

  • I live in Scotland , do you think they can make a rain powered boat ?

  • nice music.

  • NO IT ISN'T ILL FUCKING KILL YOU

  • @PsychedelicVideos ..-. lol.. yeah boy, go play with your dolls...

  • so you always stay inside the boat ? thats no fun

  • wait and see, what it does NEXT

  • There will be no Gas left in 30 years,

    Then what?

  • @brendankhoury if I'm alive I'll still have gas!

  • It sounds more like a battery powered boat with solar panels used as decorations...

  • we need solar planes

  • im on a boat!

  • Why does a solar POWERED boat need to be recharged?

  • solar energy charges the solar battery. there isn't any solar energy at night.

  • oh... duh... aaha thanks :]

  • There should have to be an overproduction of energy from the solar panels, filling the batteries, with the solar panels driving the motor itself during the day. You might just have enough capacity to continue the entire night (maybe at a lower pace, but still going)

  • Recharged as in filling the batteries from solar energy. It means you can go for 3 days and 3 night of rain before there's no more power, It's not like you use it for three days then plug it into the wall to recharge it...

  • i want to see the inside

  • whats the song ? :O

  • I don't get the story about the recharge...! Does it need to be plugged in the net in the end of three days because the solar power is not sufficient enough??

  • we need solar-powered cars

  • they could have made it look a bit nicer, they have just strapped singular solar panels onto a boat, why not make one huge one across the whole boat roof?

  • ufo =P

  • Wow... wish I had money.

  • what's the name of the music?

  • @xiocx1 uh, idiot

  • @dyingangelo

uh,joke, cheese cant any take a joke these day <P

    <_<_

  • can I win this somewhere? :D

  • the sound track is sick

  • Would be shit in a storm lol no sunlight.

  • Recharge?

  • wow. thats amazing (: 5*

  • It needs recharged??? Surely if it sailing on the open seas, that would negate the need to recharge?

  • I think what they're trying to communicate is that it can run on batteries alone for three days. Which sounds unbelievable.

  • Thats amazing. :O 15 mph is still fast for a solar powered boat.

  • Nice
