It is nice to have an advocate for New Orleans. Although the nation is now beginning to complain of Katrina fatigue, I believe the only people that should be able to complain are the people of the city. New Orleans is recover and shall grow into a larger city. But New Orleans is like America's crazy aunt. They all want to talk to her and visit her, but when she is in troble they want nothing to do with her.

Ok...For the last time...John Edwards or every politician out there today couldn't give a rats ass about the 'american public'. He's an attorney...cold and heartless. New Orleans is a lost cause...And the hurricanes will keep coming....Let's see you put an end to that Mr. Edwards! Politicians will always say ANYTHING to get elected and not make a bit of difference if they get elected.
Ronald Reagan once said that in the War on Poverty....poverty won. Too many people (and I don't care WHAT color they are) just aren't willing to do for themselves. We have generations of 'victims' who demand from our Fed gvmnt (tax PAYERS) out of ignorance of how our *REPUBLIC* operates. Dems like to keep them that way too. They couldn't win elections otherwise.
Thank you for speaking about New Orleans outside of the city. We often feel that the candidates only think of us when they are in town for the photo-ops.
John Edwards is not there for photo-ops. He really cares and wants to do something to eliminate poverty in this country. He wants everyone to have the same opportunity.
You are certainly entitled to your opinion, but I encourage you to find out more about John Edwards' life before you criticize him. He doesn't come from money. He was the first in his family to attend college. He has lived the American dream and is proud of his accomplishments. His message is that we as Americans are entitled the same opportunities that he has had. The truth is those opportunities are out of reach for the poor.
"The truth is those opportunities are out of reach for the poor." This is AMERICA and as such, THAT is a lie. Poor people (who will ALWAYS exist) don't want to do what needs to be done to achieve what Edwards did. They are only victims of themselves.
all that man on the street has to do is and leave on a bus to higher ground and get a job and start over!new orleans is a swamp! nature wants it back! let it go!
I have to feel really sorry for someone who has never been touched by the music of New Orleans and is as viciously prejudice as zxpress. New Orleans was a beautiful lady who is going to take a while to return to her former glory. But a comebback whe will be!!!
It is a national disgrace, that after 2 years, it still looks devastated over there. Simply disgusting- where did all of the money that we donated, go to?

They've been given $127 BILLION...with a "B". They have the highest murder rate in the country. They were dumb enough to re-elect Nagin and they're STILL crying for MORE? It was a city of low life thugs and crooked politicians (democrats) before Katrina and I don't see that $127 Billion has changed anything. I don't want to see one more dime of my tax dollars spent there until I begin seeing people willing to help themselves FIRST.
The majority of the money appropriated has not been spent in NOLA ... most of the rebuilding has been by local residents and non-government organizations.
Ignorance is bliss. $116 B "allocated" for the entire Gulf South region. Less than half has been spent due to bureacratic redtape. Most was for clean up and rescue. $35 B allocated for recovery efforts (again for the Gulf South). New Orleans has received $7 B. Facts don't matter to people like you though. You just don't like the color of "those lazy people". We get it.
"The truth is those opportunities are out of reach for the poor"....this is America which makes that statement *absurd*. The TRUTH is some folks aren't willing to do what it takes to achieve what Edwards did. He paroved it's possible so what's the excuse again? Some just don't want it. That's life. Some people are victims ONLY of THEMSELVES.
I subscribe to many Vlogs from presidential candidates (Democrat and Republican). John Edwards Vlogs tend to have more substance than most, and the issues section of his website has more details than most. People should appreciate how Edwards is using the Internet for more than just fluff stuff, unlike a lot of other candidates.
I live on the Gulf coast I have seen what has been lost small buisness have been lost from Mobile Bay to Texas and after two years they are still gone and they are not coming back.New Orleans is not the only ones who have lost . So get off New Orleans they have lost but take a drive from Mobile Bay to Texas and you will see the whole Pic IF You want to win this race for the whitehouse

The only reason New Orleans, the bigges shit hole on earth, gets all this attention is because of its massive concentration of worthless, lazy black people. It's called race hustling.
John Edwards is Bobby Kennedy with a Southern Drawl.
