  • screw the HMS Vicotry am going to the surprise!

  • Lovely replica - I went on her back in the early seventies when she was based at Newport, R.I.

  • I would love to tour that ship! I love the novels & movie, would love to see the dear Surprise! So jealous!

  • She's a beauty.

  • this video is 3 times letter boxed, and still has wrong aspect ratio.

  • 1:28 "Rig a proper grating! Muster the defaulters!"

  • She used to be called the HMS Rose, and was berthed out of the Long Island Sound about 10 or so years ago. They purchased her for the movie and altered her to what you see now. HMS Rose was a Revolutionary War small frigate replica. They had to sail her through the Panama Canal to the west coast for the movie.

  • they junked it up w some pirates stuff for pirates of the carribean 1:57

2:26 you used to not be able to get to that section. All fine dining ware and aubreys fiddle and Stephen's cello behind glass.

  • woop

  • Love it! Profanity tho

  • Jack Aubrey is said to have preferred the Yellow Checker of Lord Nelson

  • Thank you for this - it gives a reasonable view of the ship. One note I am curious about is that the ship is wearing the red ensign, whereas Geoff Hunt always depicts it with the white ensign - I don't know whether it is recorded what the real ship wore or whether O'Brian ever said which division it was in.

  • I love the footage!!!
