Increasing number of cars build, lead to change and develop of factory who change is name also.

M461 was build 1964-1969 from UMM - Uzina Mecanica Muscel (Mechanical Muscel Factory).

During 1969, M461 was improved and new version named M461C.

Increasing selling succes on foreign markets lead to decision to renamed the car.

That lead to ARO M461c, ARO mean Romanian Automobile.
