  • you need some glow plugs to heat the diesel before it combusts i think

  • @shredmaster100 In a diesel engine the fuel is ignited by the heat created by the compression inside the cylinder. The glow plugs assist start up by heating the cylinders before you start it.

  • yeah cool u know more than i do about diesel engines m8

  • @shredmaster100 Just spreading the knowledge! :D

  • green diesel? here in brazil diesel is red, hshshs

  • @MrIbituruna Fuel for off road use (IE tractors, etc) is red here too.

  • @compu85 thanks, friend :)

  • diesel only burns at 600ºc.. its combustion not an explosion... d«its logical diesel its oil... oil dont burn at low temps...

  • I don't get it. Gasoline burns quicker than diesel.

  • love diesels

  • BORING

  • Diesel is a lot more safer than gasoline it needs to have a lot of compression in order to achieve combustion and diesel engines are a lot less complicated than gasoline

  • @themaster91156 but gas is more fun to drive and sounds way better

  • @themaster91156 it's not just about compression, it must be injected better pulverized, having a smaller contact surface, then turning its combustion process more efficient...

  • The difference is that diesel is compressed so much that it spontaniosly combusts. it really isn't hard to understand.

  • Safety first, environment last, at least you've got a fire extinguisher yet dumping fuel on the ground don't show this to EPA they will have a fit!! nice demo.

  • what is the point of this video? does it mean diesel powered cars wont explode? does this make diesel powered cars any safer?

  • @Celsior400 diesel doesnt burn you idiot, this video was made for morons and imbeciles like you who dont know that diesel cars work on pressure not from burning

  • @polzowatel

haha i know the differences between a gasoline powered engine and a diesel engine. there are many other videos out there that show what actually happens inside the engine. we dont need you to drop a match onto fuels.

  • @polzowatel Ha ha ha ha ha! The diesel doesn't burn huh? And OTHER PEOPLE are imbiciles according to you! HILARIOUS!

  • @3Mudbone1 are you fucking kidding me? no it doesnt fucking burn you moron i knew that since i was like 5

  • @polzowatel You are VERY, VERY dumb! IT SURE AS SHIT DOES BURN!

  • @polzowatel Are you a 3 year old in a retard home? I THINK YOU ARE!!!!

  • @polzowatel I forgot more about diesel engines than you will EVER know you DUMB, DUMB, DUMB, DUMB son of a bitch!

  • @3Mudbone1 learn english

  • @polzowatel Why did they have to remove 3/4 of your brain anyway? Auto accident or something?

  • @3Mudbone1 now educate yourself fool

  • @polzowatel Blow the shit out of your head with a shotgun!

  • @3Mudbone1 the last time i checked i had brains in my had if you have shit in your head then please do it and make world a better place

  • @polzowatel Yep, you had brains in your 'HAD" alright!

  • thats the reason why diesel engine doesn't need spark plugs. :)

  • Diesel is more of a combustable fuel rather than a highly flammable fuel

  • Diesel cars and trucks where always the better deal , until lately starting in 2008 the EPA mandated equipment on diesels have pushed repair costs through the roof ! The 2010's are a nightmare . it has reached the point that the non- commercial driver would be better served with a gasoline car or truck ........ the light duty diesel is dead

  • Diesel needs much more pressure to ignite.

  • Americans baffle me. They buy hybrid cars, but don't realize that diesel cars get far better mpg. Hybrid cars are not environmentally friendly as they require hazardous battery production. Americans love the idea of being green, but then the government taxes diesel and forces Americans to pay for more expensive gas-ethanol mixture that corn lobbyist were able pass. Idiots! The Prius gets 42mpg, but the least efficient European diesels get that at worst.

  • @rhonamitratara You said it man. I think the main reason the USA doesnt drive more diesels is because we have a lot stricter emissions testing then the rest of the world (we have to do some shit with carbon emissions - i dont remember the numbers, but Europes are way better compared to ours), and theres the other reason being people complaining about the smell and "sooty, black smoke".

  • @nullx86 Europes better than ours!!??? Europe uses more diesels than America does! The only reason we don't use more diesels here is because our infrastructure was formed to use gasoline and it would require changing to implement diesel. Diesel gets more from its fuel than gasoline does. You take two amounts of fuel, gas and diesel, you get more energy than gas. Diesels don't waste fuel like gas engines do, that is a fact. Our country just wont make the change!!

  • @greatwhite78 i never understand why the vehicles here in the US doesnt uses diesels as much as europe....

  • @7150285 democrats dude...democrats lmao

  • @7150285 no worries man. mostly epa and strict emission standards. even tho diesels are cleaner burning than gas... idk messed up system

  • @WillDaBeast696969 well, i think europe probably uses more diesel because they invented diesel

  • @7150285 this is true

  • @WillDaBeast696969 won't be so sure......America invented atomic bombs and airplanes doesnt mean they have the most airplanes and nukes

  • @7150285 Uh Dude. America i am an america, You have no idea how many Nukes and Planes and shit we have Look up Davids Monthan AFB on Google maps and message me back its in Tucson Arizona we have 2800 plane in that one base

  • @Learnthethingsido well, it's common sense that Russia has the most nuclear bombs but i dont know about planes....

  • @7150285 Um, even russia doesn't know how many nuclear bombs they have since they never assigned serial numbers. But anyway, it is very safe to say that U.S. definitely has more nuclear bombs. Planes, not sure, probably u.s. But look out for CHINA on the rise!

  • @jctevere most ppl don't know about this but after the cold war, they found out Russia have bout 2 or more nukes than we do. And their a lot of their nukes were much powerful. I'm pretty sure a lot if nukes are dismantle by now though

  • Wow! Some difference! Why more people don't drive diesel is beyond me. Diesel is less flammable than gasoline.

  • Germans had diesel tanks in WWII and they could take a beating and keep on ticking. Allies had gas powered tanks and the fuel was likely to ignite when the tank was fired upon. Obviously tank drivers would probably prefer to drive a diesel tank.

  • Diesel is higher octane. it takes more to get it to cumbust which means there is more stored energy. Diesel is actually on a scale of cetane not octane look it up.

  • Diesels, ignite by heat excessive at around 300C or sumething and petrol ingites by flame

  • diesel is better guys but u have to treat the fuel first then burn it , i drove a gasoline engine on diesel (don t laugh guys) after i treated the diesel , the car ran better and 4 times longer than gasoline..... alot of tricks out there guys , just can t talk about it ........... got the reason yet?

  • DIESEL IS BETTER

  • NAFTA SA ZAPALUJE POD TLAKOM TY KOKOT

  • yes it does

  • You need lots of heat to ignite diesel.

  • my f350 gets 28-30mpg with just a couple upgrades like new inter cooler intake exaust and chip

  • no it doesnt.

  • Gas has a very low vapor pressure since it has to vaporize and be ignited by a spark. Since diesel has a much higher vapor pressure, there are no fumes to ignite at room temperature. Throw it on a fire and it'll be a different story ;)

  • Awesome. You could put a fire out with diesel!

  • @bcarby deffinetly not but you go right ahead and try that one

  • lol, my dad was a volunteer fireman, they taught him that while he was in training. Also there is a good mythbusters video about it, check it out...

Diesel doesn't burn well/ at all unless it is vaporized :P

  • That's awesome!

  • Hey would someone like to try 100LL avgas vs. Jet-A? Supposedly the future of general aviation will run on Jet-A fuel which is a kerosene based fuel that burns in diesel engines. The trick is getting the diesel engines lighter. But man reliability is going to be awesome. No plugs, no ignition system to worry about, no carburetor heat.

  • Hey juanpi182, diesel is not gay, gas is , Diesel is better from the enviroment and it burns less than gas and very less flammable like gas is and when Im 24 or 35 I HOPEFULL get my powerstroke 6-speed truck my little(ranger) truck gets 14 mpg with automatic

  • I'll take my much cheaper gasoline at this day and age. You all can pay more for diesel to brag about it not burning fast.

It burns that way because the engines has high compression. Can you imagine a fast burning fuel in a high compression engine? It's called a melted piston.

  • your an idiot, and by the looks of it. diesel is now cheaper than gasoline once again. By the way a fast burning fuel in a high compression engine is called a dragster, look it up.

  • No, that's called running lean enough to not melt your piston. You know how engines work, right? And what octane means? I can actually tell you don't. 'Fast' burning fuel would be 87 octane, 'slow' would be 93 or 110, etc. etc. Has to burn slower to keep the cylinder/piston cooler. Otherwise, you get pre-detonation/pinging. I won't confuse you any further, you spelled 'you're' wrong when you said I'm an idiot. Funny stuff.

  • @iceguy2003

    You spelled "learn" wrong.

No need to comment angrly, I just felt like getting on someones nerves.

  • @StedySniper I don't see anywhere I spelled learn wrong. I love logging in and seeing comments, it's why I do what I do. Not gettin' om my nerves, lol.

  • @iceguy2003

srry my friend forgot to log out before commenting.

Hes and idiot, when it comes to these things.

  • @StedySniper You spelled a couple of things wrong. srry -> sorry, Hes -> He's, and "and" doesn't require a "d" in your sentence.

  • (dragsters run on methonal)

  • Some do, but the top fuel and funny cars run on NitroMethane.

  • iceguy2003, i'll pay $3.00 or $4.00 for diesel when my truck gets 28 mpg.

  • I hope you aren't trying to tell me you have a 3/4 or 1 ton truck that gets 28 mpg. Unless you meant to type 12.

  • 18 mpg

    typo

  • @chase312 i own both.. at that price the diesel aint worth it

  • my gas dodge gets less than 15mpg on the highway. My diesel dodge gets up to 24 on the highway (hand calculated over & over). Besides that my gas dodge is pretty gutless; the diesel has tons of power. I get about 140 miiles more out of a tank of diesel (both trucks have 34 gal. tanks)

  • cool. didnt know that.

  • yeah i did that experiment once and it was the thank of a truck was licking and it had a bucket cathching it and we trhough matches and didnt do anything

  • Man, I LOVE diesel, THhank you rudolf diesel your the man I wish peoiple buy more diesel

  • I don't, because that would drive up prices of vehicles & fuel. The way it is now, its more for us :-) but ppl are slowly catching on.....

  • Fascinating. I didn't know this.

  • hehe that reminds me of an episode of mythbusters when they were doing the flame trail behind a car with a fuel leak.. they found out that they couldnt ignite the diesel & jet fuel even with a propane torch.

  • Ha Ha, Love you guys. Diesels are all around better!

  • @DanielJaegerFilms diesel produces more soot but that problem is being takes care of.

  • Something the government keeps quiet is that when unleaded petrol hits your exhaust manifold or cat, that it will ignite and set fire to the car. Leaded petrol had a higher combustion temperature and was inherently safer. Have you noticed how there are many more car fires since the introduction of unleaded fuel? Not a nice way to go!

  • well.. on this one single issue i have to say leaded gasoline even though it is the BEST for performance use.. really isnt good for life on earth (last time i check lead is poisonous).

  • good work in the video..but this is common knowledge...
