For some reason it reminds me of what Walt Disney said to Ub Iwerks to come down to Hollywood from Kansas City "I wouldn't stay there if you gave me the place." Of course that being said it probably is a nice place to live.
You people do realize that if this movie has ever been broadcasted over radio waves it is currently spreading over the vastness of space where it might some day be picked up by beigns on another planet...
I'm just glad that I'm long dead when that happens... couldn't take the embarrassment.
i actually live in wichita and the most people who even know about that movie are the ones i tell about it, sadly the holiday inn in the movie is now an apartment complex though its cool that the entire movie was filmed in my home town i actually recognize every location in the film so its good to see someone else has seen it and hopefully now a lot of others have too.

King Kong Fu was started in 1975-6 but quickly ran out of cash and was shelved. It was finally completed in 1988 and premiered at the Crest theater in Wichita. I was living there at the time and the premiere got a lot of local media attention.
I remember watching it with friends who were laughing so hard, not at the gags (which were lame), but it because it was such a great time capsule of 1970's Wichita. I'm really surprised it made it to DVD since it was so bad!!
Yeah, i live in Wichita... and that is what they always fucking do: Advertise. If there is a scene that talks about Wichita in a new movie, it is gonna be on the news. The most recent one was the new movie "Knite and Day". And everyone was like "Holy Shit!".
Just one more thing and I'll shut up. This movie was finally released as a fund raiser.2 of the stars in this film died from Luekimia.(I know I can't spell). The movie was premiered at the Crest theatre in Wichita to honor them and help with research funding. The 2 stars were "Officer Pilgrim" and "King Kung Fu".I attended the premier.
The police chief was played by Wichita celebrity,Tom Leahy. Wichita lost him when he passed away last week.He was a great local entertainer. R.I.P.,Tom.
I love the idea of a movie filmed in my home town, but this is so rediculous,it's actually something to be proud of.It was made in the early '70s and all the locations are familiar to me. To bad the Holiday Inn building is now a deteriorated,un-named , piece of junk.Wichita has changed a lot since then.

The Holiday Inn is famous sort of, but only because a sniper used it to shoot several people across the street at (I kid you not) John F. Kennedy Plaza. I think that happened in the 70's too.
when was this made? the "Jumping" parts are really bad. kinda looks like a guy has a hook on his back and is being lifted by a helicopter. I can understand if it was made in '80's of 90's even, but if this took place after the year 2000, i don't wanna watch.
