they are good, just hang on to the backspin position until you hit the floor. Dont even think of opening before then. Do those double footed rotation jumps as often as possible to get the feeling of the air position. Im sure you have it in you its just about mastering fear. Also do lots of waltz-backspins on ice and plain backspins
@ChristinaeL okay, so what i see you doing here is that your not getting a full rotation, and you are opening your arms too early. i had this same problem, until i found what works best for me. what works best for me and like 5other people at my rink, is to say your first name slowly while you are rotating in the air, also i noticed that you're taking off walking forward, and i doubt you do this on ice, so i would suggest to try taking off backwards, like as you do on the ice.
@ChristinaeL btw i hav a vid of me doing an axel ON ICE but i go the opposite way of u, so it might b a little confusing... oh and i also see that youre not kicking ur leg through enough to get that height.
under rotated so remember backspin position in air and knee bend wot ur doin is fine but pull in as tight as you can i dont understand how do them and doubles as i just seem to be able to get jumps like 2nd nature as i am very springy well so ive been told lol :P
@simboy31 you're lucky! I don't understand how to "suspend" myself in air! hmmm. but somehow a harness works magic. and magic is spelt as s-e-c-u-r-i-t-y... haha.
It looks really good! Mine is at the same place off-ice - just 1/4 underrotated. However, on-ice, it's still between 1/2 and 3/4 underrotated. If I ever figure out the secret to getting it on-ice, I'll share it. :)
This is such a huge improvement from your video months ago! You have the rotation in the air. it looks like you landed fine and then you have to jump out again to make it fully rotated. Your axel is progressing very well, can't wait to see it on ice now! When did you start working on your axel?
try doing the toe hop first sometimes that helps when people are just learning axels. for me i got it once i got the feel of it along with all my other doubles, once you know exactly how to take off, and to rotate, or how to take off from a curb its so much easier. Hopefully that helped!
