Last song on the album and the last song recorded for the album, six months after the rest of the album had been finished! Then the album only came out six months later because of the sensational sales of "Joni James Sings In the Still of the Night" and the last-minute project of "Merry Christmas from Joni." At this point Joni was constantly touring and constantly recording in a dizzying whirl of activity and responsibility. She kept her head on straight through it all!
What a lovely song...and sung by a beautiful & gifted singer here. What a cutie...and what a set of pipes! No wonder she's one of my all time favorite female vocalists. THANK YOU for sharing this delightful "blast from the past" with us. May you & yours have your HAPPIEST holiday season ever! :)
I'd like to say I remember this song. But it was done in 1951, way before my time! (Liar, liar, pants on fire:-) No, seriously, I love this song. Frank Loesser just could do not wrong, especially with James singing it.
thank you again for the Joni videos John, pretty as always...
and roses are my favorites too, ESP red ones, but I adore pink or others, I learned to "tend" them nicely from my maternal grandmother and they make me think of her and our backyard "outings" that I treasure... we did that together alot... and she taught me how to raise and take nice care of them... sweet.
She sings them all from her heart. Thank you Joni and thank you poster.

Beautiful rendition of this song which
was a hit record for Julius LaRosa
years ago. At her concerts Joni is always
given lots of flowers and she enjoys
giving them back to her fans in the
audience. Her favroite flower is the
red rose. When she gave her first
concert at Carneige Hall in NYC
in 1959 she rec'd over 70 dozen
red roses.

Red roses are perfect for Joni. Especially if they are the American Beauty variety. Best wishes,
Joe
