  • 16 people were not on their balls.

  • The way you handled your bottom in my dream.

    ahahahahaha

  • They're both so intelligent, it's hard to believe they both made their starts as comedians... It's like they reason you into laughing.

The satire on old fashioned style British comedy here is lovely.

  • " Don't worry about the Northern accent, it will come."

    ahahhaha very funny

  • JIM CARREY IS THE BEST EVERRR!!!!!

  • 4:42 sounds like General Melchett.

  • What does the joke mean? D:

  • WOW! I havent seen them this young before.....hawt!

  • Stephen Fry really knows how to act.

    X

  • amazing! I though I was watching Max Miller till I read the credits! Oh stop it madam!

  • I used to think Hugh Laurie was the best looking man on this planet but after i accidentally paused this at 5:54 i'm not so sure anymore...

  • @MyAlterEgoCd LOL!

  • Hugh speaks with so much less of his accent nowadays. I miss it. :(

  • don't worry about the northern accent. it will come in time. absolute brilliance.

  • I laughed so much!

  • my god hugh was so young!

  • They're obviously spoofing the Max Miller approach.

  • 5:52 Oh.My. God.

  • LOL! They're insane, lol!

  • 5:20 and that's how House got his limp

  • the English have a history that goes back to the beginning of time

    and the USA

    started yesterday

  • I don't understand this sniping about British humor or American humor. I'm American, and I find British humor very funny. Of course, some of the references go straight past me, but the more you watch, the more you get. Oh, and if you've only seen season 1 of Black Adder, try the other seasons. They completely retooled it, and I understand it gets much better. (I enjoyed Season 1, and am looking forward to the rest.) I don't care the nationality. I love to laugh.

  • Black Adder is funny to you because it makes jokes referencing British culture and British people, like some obscure shadow secretary or historical figure. I lived in the UK for 6 years and can honestly say I've never met a more insecure group of negative whiners in my life. Good beer though.

  • @libville

    what a racist whiner

  • Blackadder is geniously halarious wherever you come from so your point is irrelevant. And no one is saying there's anything wrong with american television, they're implying it was a shame epic comedy lost out to a drama series weather it be american, chinese, african or indian!

  • There's nothing wrong with American television. It's for the American audience. Do you think they spend millions of dollars producing a show to make someone 3000 miles away in another culture laugh? Do you think we find Black Adder funny?

  • @libville yes we do find black adder funny.. i don't know which planet you live on.

  • off your balls

  • this gets funnier every time I watch it.

  • Their genius is so wasted on American television...

  • @pistachioguy im american but agree with you. I love this stuff,Hugh should not be wasting his time on american television.

  • i've seen hugh make a lot of faces, but never that last one. by god.

  • oh goodness Hugh is just a baby.

  • Wonderful stuff!

  • So that is the secret of being funny: being relaxed and knowing when to get on or off your balls...

  • Hugh Laurie 20 yrs ago and with a british accent!

    *sigh*

  • @xwowxhsm "british accent"? That's his natural accent, you fool.

  • @mrbeanaswell i know it's his real accent, i didn't say it wasn't. i just said meant that i like it. on the other hand it's hard to believe that the guy that interprets dr House on House is the same person that's made me laugh so hard in this sketch :)

  • @xwowxhsm yes, he is very talented indeed. :D

  • Hugh is hotter now.How is that possible!!

  • @Luarrangel i know! if i was a teen tenyrs ago i wouldn't be crushing on him, oh and yeah it could also be his incredibly sexy beard :)

  • i really dunno how any of them can keep a straight face lol

  • that guy looks like doctor house

  • @dawgghogg111 He's Hugh Laurie--the actor who plays House.

  • @dawgghogg111 that is because he IS

  • @dawgghogg111 that is because he IS the same actor, the great British comedian and actor, Hugh Laurie

  • @dawgghogg111 Retarded fag

  • High Caliber Comedy...

  • I came at 5:55.

  • Harry Hill's whole act is here.

  • OMG!!!

I hadn't seen this one ((hilarious laughter))

Golly there is an incredible magic in the sketch of divine humour..

    My very favourite thing! x

  • Great clip! Hugh's iris' look massive at 0:51, like in an anime!

  • BOTH OF THEM WERE SO CUTE, STILL ARE :)

  • HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! this is HALARIOUS!!!!! i love these 2, they always no where to strike your funny bo

    ne:)

  • "....by the way you handled your bottom in in my dream...."

    Only Stephen Fry.

  • haahahahaha this sketch deserves an award!

  • Alright?

  • Stephen does that lapping very often! I love that! Don't know why, it's just just great

  • "On your balls!"

  • relax and off your balls

  • brilliant!

  • "The way you handled your bottom in my dream."

    LOL

  • This is perfect parody of comedy classes. "Classes" like this take the fun out of having fun.

  • This is brilliant. Thanks so much for posting. But my favorite is still "My name is Derek..."

  • @rakshareader

    Your name's Derek Nippl-e?

    ;P

  • ahh the licking the air! so cute!! haha

    i love jameshughcalumlaurie =D

  • no no that's brilliant !!

  • Is this the most hilarious Fry and Laurie sketch of all time? Please suggest others if you think they're better!

  • i love this one! just cuz hes so cute

but the most hillarious ones would be mr burmie, or sex talk in class, or australian soap!

  • mr burmie is amazing!!

  • Hugh has such a babyface! All smooth and those big eyes....and even that young, he was a comedy genius!

  • LMAO!!! The ending!! The look on his face is hysterical!

  • i guess age isnt always a bad thing...

  • There's a quietly unhinged quality to a lot of their humour. The amount of old shit comedy conventions they're exposing here, suggests a lot of very bad comedians and sitcoms have really pissed them off!

  • This is so hilarious, they are awesome together

  • Those were the two best impressions of a paranoid British beckoning lizard I've ever seen!

  • woow...Hugh Laurie hasn't changed a bit from 1986...

  • 5.55 made me laugh so hard. the way he said back to back

  • "Don't worry about the northern accent; that'll come later."

  • bahahahah

  • this is brilliant. stephen is an absolute god

  • he really is... he's so freaking adorable.

  • @watchzeitgeist No, Hugh is an absolute god.

  • i cant believe this was done 3 years before i was born

  • wow, it was 9 years before I was born

  • 0:55 SO CUTE!!!

  • Hugh is SO CUTE! looks like he's 18. I wish he was...

  • def sounds like Stephen's welcoming us to QI.

  • Im bustin a gut!!! Hugh laurie is HILARIUS!!! I LUV U HUGH!!! (and fry!!!)

  • Jesus, this reminds me of my acting class.

  • lol :P

  • LOL

  • WTF? HAHAHAHAA. This was too funny. I love his big forced grin at the end. XD

  • OMG! HE´S SO YOUNG! XD

  • so many years ago but their voices are the same)

  • that was amazing xD he is damn hot!

  • Is this a Saturday Live sketch?

  • hahaha! Hugh sticking his tongue out and licking the air is hilarious!!! Then when he tried to 'laugh the joke in' at the end... pure genious!

  • I wonder where everybody who actually watch them Live are today...

I mean, to tell someone that now, be able to tell that you actually saw them before they became 'big', is pretty cool. Some hundreds, it must be, at least. Something worth swagger about.

Haven't anybody here on Youtube watch them perform their hilarious sketches Live?

  • This, is one of the best Fry & Laurie sketches I have seen!! I absolutely adore it!!!!! Lmfao.

Also, side note...no, nvm i just cant say it lol.

  • i think it could have been based on Tommy Cooper

  • ohh, quite hillariouse.

yes I know I probably spelled hillariouse wrong...

  • remove an L and the E and you're good !

I love that sketch !!! I wish they do something together again...

  • I think hugh looks the same. He's sexier now but I think that has a lot to do with him not doing all the silly faces and stuff on house, also, the stubble, gotta love the stubble.

  • I'm American and find it weird that Hugh is House. I love House, but I certainly prefer ABoFaL. :)

  • I share your opinion, for me he stays the good old english humourist

  • I think House is hilarious--it's obviously not the same kind of humor but he's funny in it.

  • i find it bizarre that people cant believe that hugh laurie did this before house - i grew up with hugh laurie being part of fry and laurie! its weird to me seeing him as house, with an american accent...being serious.

  • Hear hear! I'd love to see him back in comedy with Fry.

  • I agree - to me he's one half of Fry and

Laurie, one half of Jeeves and Wooster, George, and an utterly great musician!

  • I'm waiting for Stephen Fry to make an appearance on House. Perhaps as a patient?

  • I want him to put on a stuffy British accent and make British jokes to a confused House who doesn't understand British humour one bit!

  • i want him to be a mouthy wordy shrink who analyses an unwilling House

  • 0:55 was hilarious!!!

  • But......HOUSE? OMG!!!!!!!!

  • LMAO...the licking at the end

  • Hugh can portray confusion so very well - it's my main theme in life. I feel so attached!!

  • Videoed this back in the day, & watched many, many times before it was recorded over! It brought back many laughs for me!

  • Hahahahahahaah, that was so hilarious, I couldn't stop laughing! I think the tongue was my favourite part~

  • does the size of one's tongue have anything to do with... well, you know? :D

hugh, i will always love you! let me mend you ;D

  • hahahahahahaha

  • "don't you stop madame" hahaha! this is hilarious! i love it!

  • Step on your balls, bahahahaha!

  • I love Dr. House (and it would not be the same with a different actor)but why did Hugh Laurie change to it, he is such a good comdedian!?

  • I know! I too, like House, but I love his old stuff... We need more Stephen and Hugh!

  • Exactly! I thought I was the only one to think that! ^^

  • I think he´s a really good comedian. But I also think he´s a good actor. So i think all these talents make him to the hugh i love.

    I´m a poet ..:D

  • If only Stephen Fry were to do a cameo on House . . .

  • He was going to, they had it all planned, but they had to cancel it because Fry had already agreed to do something else at the time.

  • change to it? it's a show with a strong comedic aspect and he's a comedy actor

sketches are after all basically plays with a lot of humor

  • "but why did Hugh Laurie change to it, he is such a good comdedian!?"

Are you saying he is not a good serious actor either? Why should his reasons for taking a huge role like that matter, he wants to do that, he does it. End of story.

  • Omg, the tongue thing...

  • "...by the way you handled your Bottom in My Dream."

    *snorfle*

  • "That`s the joke!You see?"

  • lol, Hugh's tongue thing is so hot <3

    I love these two.

  • Exaaaaaactly!

  • Hehehe, I am in love with a man who's 31 years old than me!

But seriously, I don't even think there are enough words in the world to describe how amazing Hugh Laurie is! (And Fry of course!)

  • my gawd they're so young and adorable! ^^' yay

  • that really made me laugh, thanks.

  • so inventive, Fry adorable and young face Laurie reminds me of Valentino Rossi

  • oh dear lord, hugh at 3:20...god that WOULD get the ladies started!

  • hahahahah you are mostly funny like the vid hahahaha

  • Hugh was just a baby!!! He sure grew up nice

  • hahha he grabs his shin - does he miss stacey too?

  • So good to see this again, I couldn't remember where I'd seen it before. I love the "don't worry about the northern accent, that'll come later" line.

  • On behalf of my sister and I, thank you SO much for posting this. We have quoted from this ever since we saw it all those years back on Saturday Live. Quality!

  • likewise! "beckon them into your world of comedy" and "on your balls" have been common phrases in our house for 20 years..

  • Both of them look gorgeous in this clip

  • im only 18...so still discovering their work but im such a fan...stephen fry is my role model...im surprised he has not been knighted yet.

  • The way to get knighted nowadays is to make your big American fortune, but stay a citizen of the empire and pay your taxes. (That's not snarking, it's true.) Hugh will get a proper knighthood before Stephen, but they both most certainly deserve the recognition.
