  • what song at the end?

  • Thank you for the dedication. Love the Murphy's, It always seemed they like understood a thing or two.

    USMC: 02'-07'

  • What is the song at 3 minutes? Please

  • @dontfuckwith8 all you fascists by billy bragg

  • favorite fucking song it is the best love the dropkicks been a fan since i was 9

  • Cool video but I prefer the fan vids that stick to WWI. Nothing wrong with honoring veterans of other wars of course but the original song is so anchored in WWI and the horrors and cultural passions rooted in it that, it almost seems sacrilegious to mention outside conflicts.

  • SUPPORT OUR MARINE CORPS

  • Going to be in Helmand Province this spring, and this is some of the best shit I can show my buds. All that there is year old pop rap over there. We Irish decendent's need some DKM or some Street Dogs. This tune runs thru my head every time I kick down a door or jump.

  • Irish Pride.

  • i didnt know Mike McColgan was in the army thats f*cking awsome... but he was arty... i guess thats ok. lol

  • love this song. got me through some tuff times over there. love the dropkicks.

    US Army PFC

  • Thats neet. thanks for serving our country. im currently trying to enlist in the Navy hopfully SeaBees.

  • @19Dieppa91 Go for it!

  • thanks man :)

  • @VikingWarlord Props to you, brother. Thank you for your service and sacrifice.

  • @VikingWarlord ditto.

  • i love the smell of napalm in the morning.... smells like.... victory

  • I love al, but mike was great as well. Excellent song, great lyrics and vocals.

  • Dropkick Murphys are fucking best!

  • the photos are nice... but the song is about Mike's experiences in the US Army during the Gulf War.

  • oh i love this song

  • moving song. it's about the first gulf war, so i'd think some pictures of that'd be more fitting, but you've got the jist.

  • It not really about what war. It about the war we fought in and man gave their lives. It tribute to all the people who fought in a war. There isn't much war that is fought on America soil, all of them fought on far away coasts.

  • .... gulf war? dont you mean that its about the first world war?

  • the opening part, yes. one of the last lines, though is...

"I think of a place on a faraway coast

Where friends are so dear and there's reason to toast

A cloudy image of a Middle East land

Comes down and wrecks my hopeful thoughts."

original lead singer, mike mccolgan is a gulf war veteran.

  • fuckin a dude

    you know your shit

  • also "this place they call sacred the place i call hell"

  • I think it's about the Gulf War, because he says "A place they call sacred, a place I call hell." Parts of Iraq are considered to be very sacred to Muslims. Also, Gulf War soldiers also had to use gas masks in case Saddam's forces used mustard gas.

  • i agree, but really, does it matter? I'm sure many soldiers feel this way regardless of the war.

  • it is. former band member Mike McColgan served in the Army durring the gulf war

  • stfu dumbass

  • It sounds a bit like a soldier in the Gulf War thinking about how it would have been like for WW1 vets. considering they had to wear gas masks just like the troops in the gulf war, that seems like it could trigger thoughts like that. *shrugs* dunno though

  • i'm just working on the same idea

  • Very nice Song Dropkick Murphys RULE

  • very good. love the song

  • Excellent job. very nice.

  • Great vid, too bad some more recent stuff couldn't be in there.

  • @JuncoPartner

I think, it's 'cause we love the song?

  • @JuncoPartner

  • Mike McColgan rules, great voice!

  • classic

  • mudblooded nation..c'mon kill some more civilians

  • 3rd mar div in teh mud at around 2:40

  • there were even vietnam pics in there.

  • Truly a patriotic moving song! I'd like to drop-kick Osama!

  • To all US armed forces veterans: Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your service to the Land I Love.

  • Yeah, Mike McColgan, the singer, served in operation desert storm, thats what the song is about, "a place they call sacret". but its still a good vid, and an awesome song.

  • i think this is referring to the world war one by here in the trenches and i saw numerous world war two pictures but meh great song

i saw them just awhile ago
