  • Sure, an experience rider can go faster & keep up better. Kudos for knowing your limits and being careful; better to get lost than splattered.

  • the prius wasn't cutting you up, it was wanting part of the show

  • Should come to socal and lane split. Parked cages from LA to SD ppl throw water bottles at us, stick their arms out of their windows. Try to turn in front of us. Fuck em cadgers!

  • that cars light is a warning, its an LED light you can buy for bikes and cars that warns you if your slowing down either with brakes or without, it still blinks

  • if this is lane splitting .. you should come to romania and ride... here road slalom between cars is like an urban sport .. even for some cars...

  • playing it from 2:14 over and over made me laugh so hard

  • dont ever go with the cars. ahead.

  • can some one fill me in on what lane splitting is? im english so it must be an americanism

  • @Incorected cutting on the white line past two cars

  • Great job riding, i have the same color bike. Keep up the good video taking!!!

  • This chick is all over the map. She needs to improve her road skills. Stupid cagers? Yes there are those out there. But it is the responsibility of the rider to watch for stupid cagers. I wonder how many people in their cars were saying, "What a stupid biker," as this chick was going from lane to lane trying to catch up with her group.

  • @doable1 "She needs to improve her road skills" Yup, I have since this video...it's pretty old...

  • @doable1 didnt look like she went out of her lane once. Either to the other side of her lane or into the next. I dont see any of that.

  • Holy shit thats portland i live in vancouver!

  • shes a beginner

  • @LightningMAS yup, a year ago I was...

  • lane splitting is the only way to get around

    not to mention safer too

  • Open that bitch up, cut off cars do some wheelies. Its like you gotta vagina or something. :P

  • She sounds like she is probably a novice.

  • Cars always keep their distance from me, I think my superhawk scares them

  • I remember that highway so well. I miss portland...

  • you guys are crazy riding in super cold weather...lol..come down to cali and ride with us you can basically ride year around...oh and yes you do ride pretty slow but its cool you'll get use to riding faster

  • @kamikazefeb2487 You're nicer so I'll tell you. Yes I ride slow in the video, I've since gotten faster just check out my other vids! :)

  • @ashf00t yeah i've watch sum of your other vids and your pretty good...i think i'm in love lol jk jk

  • @ashf00t And someday you die...! but don't we all..?

  • @ashf00t

I'd say your wingman on your left, Hung you out to dry, He should have speeded up and passed the car merging, instead of daydreaming.

  • I love bikes more then cars but honestly, how did he cut you off? He couldnt go anywhere els and he let all the bikers pass. If you have driven slightly more aggresive you wouldn't have lost your friends. Loads of times the cars are pulling away from you, so if you stay closer on them, you can get in a opening way easier. Look at 2:24,your friend goes to the left to pass the prius and get back to the group, you should follow him but instead you let another car pass you,who was way back.Just a tip.

  • Prius drivers think they are the shiznit and so they think they are allowed to do whatever they want on the road.

  • Morgan..Im re-watching this video and JUST realizing the car that cut us off.....yup! It was a PRIUS!!! Does Matt know this hahahahaa!!!

  • @Wonderboy0987 Ya Prius drivers suck! Just yesterday one cut me off when he was in the turn lane and I in the "going straight" lane. It was a stop sign and he just went straight instead of turning...

  • @ashf00t hahaa...get em!!!

  • stop riding like a pussy and hit the throttle, you dont deserve that bike. you get a super sport bike to go fast not slow.

  • seems like the roads down by you are nice, most roads suck up here in Jersey for bikes except a few back roads in the country area

  • @italodgr eh, you have to pick and choose :)

  • Stop riding like a girl and twist that contraption on your right hand is wrapped around :P

Have you done your track day yet? That should transform your riding style ;)

  • @javawocky nope, waiting for a free one :)

  • Ale głupia cipa..nawet dodać gazu nie potrafi..

  • Not being able to "lane split" kinda sucks. In the UK we call it "filtering" and while it can make lots of time up in very slow traffic, it's not that smart in moving (>15mph) traffic.

We also overtake queues by using the other side of the road and if a car comes you slow down and tuck in. Some cagers get upset about this and flash headlights at you, but the law here doesnt say you have to drive on the left side, only that on comning vehicles pass on the right. "You seen me, so drive round me!

  • UK is awesome.

  • @venquessa haha nice! Ya only certain states can lane split or filter. Sadly Oregon isn't one of them, then again if they changed the law right now, I bet a bunch of people would get confused and there would be a lot more accidents with motos in them because drivers would freak out! lol

  • @venquessa Only California allows "filtering" in the US. I miss LA because of that, oh and race tracks! But I CANNOT give up Hawai'i riding weather =D

  • the way you ride no wonder your always pissed.

  • yea thats not even lane splitting lol....you safe rider you...

  • His back lights were blinking cos I'll bet you anything he's got a sub in the trunk and the dumbass fucked up the wiring loom...

  • @clitorisninja666 : The car is fitted with rear strobe lights, that's why they're flashing.

  • lane splitting, one of the perks of being a rider, sometimes you have to be aggressive.

  • Actually it's only a perk in California. Everywhere else in the US it's illegal.

  • luckily I'm not a resident of America

  • Guess you're not it guns then.

  • 2:15 "SPEED LIMIT: 50" your speed: 20 lol

  • ya there was traffic :(

  • I would've been doing hard core lane splitting. lol

  • Hi ashf00t, been watching most of your vids, good riding!

  • I don't see why you get so mad at cars! the prius let all of your friends go first, you were just WAY too slow for a motorcycle.

And you werent even lane splitting, you were just going as slow as the cars and getting mad at them.

  • agreed

  • ashfoot doesnt know it but i been watchin her vids and she is becoming more confident on her bike and more like a biker chick. she lane splits and hates cars and rides with groups. she is becoming a biker chick and doesnt even know it. she's gonna start speedin once she finds her balance poinjt. i think she will even do wheelies eventually. lol.

  • haha, I like the prediction :)

  • i would like too see that!

  • i like this...i see it too...

  • careful ashfoot..........

  • Im guessing the car's back lights are blinking because maybe he has woofers installed, and the base must be making it blink like that, my car used to do the same exact thing

  • wat is a cager

  • well, if you don't know, you probably are one :p

  • car driver ;)

  • ummm, i have a question, is it ok for me to learn to ride a motorbike and buy 1 instead of starting off with a car when i turn 16?

  • I've never owned a car and have been riding a motorcycle a lot longer than I've driven a car but I know that in the states you need to have a driver's license before you can take the motorcycle course.

  • or move to Florida and get a motorcycles only license :D

  • I think what you are referring to is the vertical position of the license plate, located on the swing arm. That is legal as long as you have an license plate light. You ride well! Very scrupulous and aware! Good job!

  • yup! You are correct, but apparently in Oregon if the license plate can't be seen from both sides you can get a ticket...

    Thanks!

  • Differentiates from state to state, I live in PA.

  • ashf00t do not ride beyond your ability! The graveyard is filled with those guys!!

  • I know, I don't care what they say :)

  • you should ride a little more aggressively.. it'd be hot too. :D

  • yeah, I'm sick of cagers too - they generally suck. Controlling, power mongers can't allow you to pass, get in your lane as you approach a stop and you can out accelerate them by like 10 times, less attentive, just generally sucky whatever anywayz I'm wondering why you didn't lane split for sure... once or twice... me thinx you're a chicken

  • you ride a bike like it is an overloaded milk truck.

  • That happened to me in my car once. Some times you have no place to go.Dont yah love some of those lame ass comments from non-riders.You can go to there site and see that thay dont have a bike.Your awesome, and dont let any one tell yah diffrent.

  • thanks buddy :)

  • haha u could have fit another prius in the space you had to split the lane.....

  • I won't agree with a general statement that people in cars are stupid, but I think it is just a little more noticeable when a car driver is an idiot than when a person on a bike is.

  • Get used to lane splitting, sometimes its the only thing you can do to get out of a very un-safe situation :(

  • So what was that prius supposed to do? Stop and wait for you?

The VW probably has a loose wire somewhere.

  • na I was just saying that just to say it. It wasn't like we sped up to try to get in front of him. hehe

  • "Cut us off Why don't Cha" LOL! What camera is that you're using? It has great quailty.

  • Fujifilm Finepix Z20

  • Some cool bikes in the group, and some not that cool :P.. Give some gas and try keeping up with ur group would be nice

  • Yeah I have seen something like this marketed as an anti rearend mechanism. Though I am fairly sure it is illegal where I am. Dont know about your area though.

A better way to prevent rearends would be not to let blind narcoleptics drive but that is impossible I guess :D

  • with time lane splitting even if its that slowly and with ease as you did , it will become normal , you dont need to go all out crazy at high speeds to do it

  • That car has a custom mod lol

  • That was some intense... lane... changing... ;p

That cager's lights blinking is a mod to prevent being rear ended. I've seen the same mod on bikes and I can take it more seriously on a bike, because if a cage rear ends your bike, you're going to either die or just get crippled for life.

  • cool vid by the way. Motorways in england are the same. Some people drive, some people "can" drive.

  • The bulbs on the car are LED's and not continuously on. They flash very fast, they look like that on your cam cus of how many frames per second your camera is filming at, or something like that,

  • haha yeah M13 is crazy, but the swedish ghost rider is crazyer XD

  • @ 3:59 I'd have dropped two and got a handful.

Probably at a few other places as well!! LOL

  • A few more rides like this and you'll understand why most of us ride aggressively. You'll get left everytime otherwise.

  • dont feel bad about getting separated from them...i'm sure if i was on group ride it would prob happen to me.....learn much i have to..lol

  • I hate how hybrid drivers are they drive all slow and then when you pass em they all of the sudden speed up so you cant get over. That annoys the h-e-double hockey sticks outta me.

  • Thanks buddy, I'm glad you have my back :)

  • hey wich bike is on your side in front of you?? The SS bike??

  • It's a CBR not sure which engine size though.

  • it looks like a 1000cc/fireblade.. that guys lights were odd, i saw that once on top gear, a UK car program, the Ford GT did the same... Anyway nice video, your vids usually have a nice calming feel to them.

  • I guess some cars have blinking brake lights under heavy braking, but this one seemed erratic. They were blinking even when he didn't seem to be braking. Possibly a faulty brake pedal switch that was flickering between on and off positions.

  • Is the whole bridge a one way direction??

  • sure is

  • o Brady, the bridge has two levels. The top one goes one way and the one underneath the other.

  • buts thats just different ways of looking at it, i mean if youre planning riding like that and keep it safe most of the time, you dont really have to worry about sprinting and changing lanes.

oh boy i drive worse than m13 where i live, its so strange watching you guys drive this way :S

  • I've never gotten a ticket or if I did, I wouldn't be able to afford it so I try not to break the speed limit especially with traffic.

You never know if there is a police car hiding in front of a car. I've seen it before! I was just glad I was doing the speed limit...

I've only gotten up to 90 but that increases with the more experience I get. I don't want to die within the first year of me riding... It doesn't matter what bike I ride, safety always comes first in my mind.

  • It's good to be careful. Some say riders are most vulnerable after about a year of riding coz they get too confident. And that's when I had my first (and only) accident. Got frustrated with the traffic, accelerated and started weaving through them when somebody slammed his brakes ahead. I could either hit the car or brake really hard and swerve at the same time. Tried the latter. Bad idea! The front locked up, the bike slid from underneath me and I went flying through the air!

  • this vlog shows you have no clue what a powerful bike youre driving :)

like some1 already commented on using more power. i have a question to you, what is the fastest have you ever got on this bike? and this could be on some dead road near nowhere, i mean i just want to know if you gone fast. because i think youre not taking any chances since you havent practiced or expericed your bike sprinting abilities. and imo knowing your bike speed stats (with what gear and all) is better for you.

  • lol you should watch torque and read the sign. CARS SUCK!!

  • Seen torque, didn't really like it much :p

  • torque rules xD

especialy the Aprilia RSV Mille and Daytona

  • wow i have to say, you where so irritating in that vid, I'm sitting here saying jump open the damn throttle already and blaze through, not lane split cuz I don't do that ether, but you could have speed up and got in front of other cars.

You made it "LOOK" intense. :)

  • i think that passat had strobes in his back...illegal in NY

  • I can't tell. Is that the license plate on the left side? It looks like it's facing up? I had a plate under the fender once. I got a fix it ticket for that. But California is different.

  • ya, it's on the left facing up.

  • Such a cool bridge. Was that cars lights blinking like that in real life? If it wasn't and you only noticed it on the computer, it may be because those lights were LED lights. Sometimes certain LED lights do that on camera because they record weird. That's at least what I've heard from somewhere.

  • not quite sure. I was actually looking ahead to where my "group" was going so I didn't notice the back lights until I saw the video later.

  • "Wow, that was intense" (4:35)

    LOL, that was great

    *Subscribed*

  • :D Thanks haha

  • Ash, you must ride faster

practice making turns and switching lanes, it's constant rubbernecking

  • very nice ride, hard to believe how long you've been riding..........

  • I know! 8 months! No tickets, no accidents and not a scratch on me. My bike however had a couple falls :/

  • On the one hand I would really like to see you use the power of that bike to zoom by cars and not get stuck like that. On the other hand I don't want you to do something you're uncomfortable with and get hurt so don't listen to jerks like me.

I think with a little more riding you'll be more comfortable riding more aggressively and you wont get stuck like that.

    Ride safe!

  • And

    E) Have fun Ash!! :) Cagers won't change but our riding styles can. ;) Always look ahead and to your sides for a place to merge and don't wait for the last min. On my bike I can breeze through traffic much faster (smaller vehicle allows for more 'spaces' to become available then in a car. ;) ) and still keep it legal. Just look ahead and you'll find those 'holes' in traffic you can get through. BE the White Rabbit!! *big 'chesire' grin*

  • A) No one was designated to be Sweep, but I took it upon myself to make sure you weren't left behind. :)

    B) You weren't lane splitting, you were just changing lanes, big difference. :) And legal. Lol

    C) The Prius had nowhere to go, we were in the lane that ends.

    D) As for the blinking lights.. it's a brand new Volkswagon CC and or Eos. (didn't catch how many doors it had). VW's are KNOWN for having bad electrials systems to begin with. :)

  • I was thinking they might have did that to the lights their selves, kinda like something extra to catch peoples attention so they don't get rear ended!

  • That is a possibility, but unlikely. I know what you're talking about, and I know quite a few bikes that have switched their brake lights to pulse to get attention so as not to be hit. But on a brand new car? Hmm, pretty doubtful. :)

  • Ya but you never know, but if it was wiring on a brand new car i would be pretty pissed!

  • To tell ya the truth it almost looks like the person put Strobe lights inside their taillights, i use to have them all over my car, so thats what it kinda reminds me of with the way they are blinking!

  • agree'd there are aftermarket break lights that when you apply the breaks it flashes 3 times to get the attention of a driver behind you then it goes steady.

  • most states, that license plate position isn't legal. it's supposed to be readable if someone is following you (like a cop, if they pull you over)

  • bwaaaaa!!! Post the riddde

  • thats the slowest highway ever. 50mph?

  • 55mph in Oregon

  • Gosh dang it! Cagers!...ummm, wait, I am one right now...grrrr! I

  • You don't watch out for other vehicles?

Cagers is a slang for someone in a car who is oblivious when driving

Just like Squid is a slang for a motorcyclist who either doesn't have appropriate gear, or drives like an idiot

  • Thanks for the education bro, what do I know? I don't even ride a motorcycle

  • *silently laughs in the background* ;)

  • lol...

  • Hey, that's how I learned: by asking =)

  • Thanks for the education bro, What do I know? I don't even ride a motorcycle.

  • haha, i really had a lot of fun watching this vid ashfoot!

I guess the guy on your left should have passed the white prius @ 2:03 to keep up with the group...he slowed u down

lol u seeemed really annoyed =)

  • I drove across that bridge, my family used to do road trips from AZ to Seattle.

And I also wish I could landsplit (filter).

I do use the median to pass cars to turn right sometimes though

  • hehe, I'm guilty of that as well.

  • You have the hp and the agility to get past those cars with relative ease...just need to use it.

The lights were blinking on that back of that car because there was someone in the trunk trying to get out. They were signaling for help.

  • You should lane split anyways.

Its only illegal if you get caught :)

  • hehe take it easy there Ashf00t. I'm pretty sure Mordeth didn't start riding the way he's now. Plus there is a big difference between North America and Taiwan. Sometimes I wish lanesplitting was legal here in Canada but until that happens I get stuck in traffic just like you ;)

  • yes Taiwan is way different than the states. :(
